Night came in the abandoned vilge of Malluraea. Shokei and her party are resting inside one of the abandoned houses. The house that they are in was not fully destroyed, but the inside was a mess. Luckily, the only source of light that they can use is the chimney. Outside is raining and the party is taking a break from today's events.
"...my luxurious bed, my captain suit..." Rei said, compining to herself on her wrecked ship and the possessions she used to have.
"Aww, quit it!" Sadako said to her, feeling bothered.
"Why not?" Rei asked her.
"All this time you compin about your ship and the things you used to have in there." Sadako replied. "Besides, you're better off without that stupid ship of yours."
"Hey! My ship isn't stupid!" Rei argued. "How dare you...*gasp*"
"What?" Sadako asked. "What's wrong?"
"Oh noes! I recalled leaving my plush bunny Nesis!" Rei said as she facepalms on what else she lost. "Awww man!"
"RIP bunny..." Saeko said, trying not to ugh and keep her humor to herself.
"It's ok." Lei said, patting Rei's back. "At least it lies somewhere in the ocean...whenever it shows up..."
Rei gave a "look" directly in her face.
"Ehhhh..." Lei jerks her hand from patting and steps back. She did not say anything as she let Rei be mad at her loss.
Marie is taking a nap. She does not hear the conversation that is taking pce as everyone else is at a short distance from the fire. The party felt tired and exhausted from today's event from fighting the sea monster and Shokei dealing with Fozoworu a while ago.
"That monster...was a brute..." Beatrice said.
"Not just brutal, but a tough one we fought." Tamiko said.
"And we nearly killed that vile thing." Sadako said. "That white-haired creep was in the way of our victory."
"Speaking of him, where's Shokei?" Beatrice asked.
Saeko turned and she saw Shokei sitting in a corner. She sees the rain falling from outside.
"...Shokei..." Saeko called out to her.
Shokei hears her voice. She turns from the window and sees her friend calling out to her.
"Are you alright?" Saeko asked her.
Shokei wanted to say something, but she changed her mind and not say anything.
"Ummm..." Saeko looks at her and she sees her facial expression is not allowing her to talk about it.
"Maybe it's best we don't disturb her." Beatrice said.
"You're right..." Saeko nodded. She turns back to the fire burning in the chimney.
As the rain pours into the night, the wind blows as Shokei remains silent. She knows now that her and her party have to head to Egesul tomorrow to get to Danevana. The party stays warm until it was time for them to get sleep. Sadako used her ice spell to put the fire out.
Later that night, Shokei wakes up from her sleep. She could not get any sleep as she does not feel tired now. Looking around, Shokei sees her party all resting on the floor. Then she looks outside to see that the rain stopped. Shokei peers through the window and sees the skies are now clear and the moon shines slightly. Quietly, she gets up from her sleeping spot and leaves the house to walk outside the ruins of Malluraea.
From there, Shokei walks up to the shore to view out the ocean. She spends time alone to herself and having thoughts about the fight against Fozoworu. Having to suffer from defeat and humiliation, she knew that she had to fight better.
"That Necromutant I've fought was too powerful..." Shokei said to herself. "How do you fight an enemy that's powerful enough to kill you? My strength is not enough for me to go on in this journey."
"Emissary!" a voice calls out to her.
"Eh?"
Just then, Shokei overheard a voice calling out to her. She looks around to see who it was. There was no soul in her sight.
"I...must be hearing things." Shokei said.
"I'm here Emissary." the voice said to her. "Up here."
Shokei looks around and then she looks up to see the spirit, Beltine. The spirit flies down to the ground and floats in midair to see Shokei.
"We meet again." Shokei said.
"Might I ask you why you are up te at night?" Beltine asked.
"I couldn't sleep...I've been thinking of things from the fight I had against that Necromutant." Shokei said.
"The powerful warlock, Fozoworu, right?" Beltine asked, hearing this.
"Yes. You seem to know the enemy." Shokei said.
"He's an elite Necromutant that you cannot py around with." Beltine advised. "And yes, I take that your defeat against your first encounter with him was not pretty at all."
"You...saw my fight?" Shokei asked.
"Of course." Beltine replied. "I view your actions in every step of the way."
"I see..." Shokei nodded.
"As the Emissary, you are not full-fledged to take on that Necromutant's strong sense of power." Beltine said. "His creation that you and your allies fought was just an example of his works and Fozoworu was testing you to see how strong you all are."
"Seems like it." Shokei said, looking down. "I bet he knows what we're capable of."
"Reminder though," Beltine advised her. "You need to continue your journey to become stronger and courageous in the battles you will face."
"I understand." Shokei said.
"Now...about your sword that you wield." Beltine said.
"Oh...you mean..."
Shokei takes her Lohengrin Sword our and held her weapon with both hands.
"Right. I have something to give you to aid in your quest." Beltine said to her.
Shokei sees Beltine taking the sword from her hands and watch as the spirit made the sword floats in her hands. Using her power, she made the sword glow as it changes shape and form. Shokei can see that Beltine is enhancing her weapon and sees a metal shaped handle with a metal finish that's antique. The grip of the weapon is made of leather and the bde appears to be in twenty-two inches, stainless steel with a false edged. The form of the sword has been complete as Shokei holds the sword in her hands.
"Woah..." Shokei said and asked. "What kind of sword is it?"
"You are holding a sword that is legendary in ancient times that was once held by a farrier and bcksmith." Beltine tells her. "The Mithrodin Sword is now in your grasp at hand."
Shokei holds the sword in her hand and examines it. The sword has a fancy edge that nearly is in the shape of a cat cw. Then, Shokei gets a grip of the Mithrodin Sword in her hand and tests it out to feel the motion and grip of the new sword that was given to the spirit.
"Amazing..." Shokei said, approving of the upgraded sword. "I can get used to this."
"The sword is useful to guide you in the way on finding the remaining seven gems." Beltine said. "However, you won't be fully fledged in the heat of battle unless you are capable of handling dangerous situations, and you must fight wisely in the moment our enemies should distract you along the way."
"...I understand." Shokei said with a nod.
"I must depart for now." Beltine said as she flies upward. "May The Almighty watch you and your allies."
The spirit, Beltine disappears, leaving Shokei by herself. Once she was gone, Shokei takes a good look at her new weapon in hand. The Mithrodin Sword appears to be a regur weapon, but it was unknown to how powerful this sword is capable of.
"With a sword like this, I must practice wielding this weapon while I'm at it." Shokei said.
Shokei gets to an open section that is wide in space. From there, Shokei gets her grip of the weapon and practice getting a grip of her sword. She worked on her techniques as she remained focused. While the new weapon appears to be easy to get a grip, Shokei swings the sword in fighting fashion just to get a grip, pretending her enemies are around her.
After taking at least an hour of training, Shokei felt fit to use the sword without trouble. Then she knew that she has an upcoming trip to head for tomorrow, which was getting to Egesul for Danevana. Rei's ship was destroyed, and she and her party must make it over there to board a ship. Shokei returns to the abandoned house where her party is inside and quietly goes back to her spot to sleep. Not one soul noticed that she came back.
