-------------
When Yuki opened her eyes, she no longer found herself in the twisted wreckage of the bus she was certain had been her final moments. Instead, she stood on an enormous, gleaming ptform of white marble that seemed to float in an endless expanse of soft, golden light. The edges of the ptform faded into infinity, and the air was filled with an otherworldly fragrance, soothing yet unfamiliar with odd azure colored trees covering the edges. Surrounding her were her cssmates, equally bewildered, whispering nervously among themselves as they tried to make sense of their surroundings. Among them was Haruka who was looking around with a worried expression on her face.
The warmth the unknown pce radiated was comforting but Yuki couldn't help but feel uneasy. Almost like the calm before a storm and deep down something told Yuki that the storm was centered around her. At the center of the ptform sood a figure radiating the same comfort as the pce Yuki found herself in only it seemed stronger and along with the feeling of comfort she was also radiating a golden light around her body like an aura. She had light golden hair flowing like liquid sunlight, and her robes shimmered with the hues of white and gold, exuding the aura of a goddess, her azure colored eyes pierced through the minds and hearts of her css as she looked back on them. And almost instantly bringing a smile to everyone's faces. Even Yuki smiled ever so slightly before that odd feeling inside her seemed to multiply until she noticed her eyes taking on a glint Yuki could almost call disdainful.
However when the dy finished her gazing of the css a beautiful smile graced her lips "Welcome, children of another world," the figure announced, her voice an ethereal melody that resonated through the void. "I am Lumina, Goddess of Light and Healing. As well the goddess that has summoned you all here today"
Yuki expected the css to gasp and murmur amongst themselves but they could only watch sck jawed as the goddess spoke. Something that increased Yuki’s sense of unease. Yuki instinctively clutched her arm half expecting pain half expecting the subtle warmth it would radiate to her hand, however neither came. Looking down and shifting her weight Yuki found she could move around just fine as well as move in whatever way she wanted, almost as if the crash didn't happen. Another thing that unsettled Yuki.
"You have been brought here because my world faces a grave threat. A darkness, led by the 9 Infernal Lords and there armies of sin, spreads across the nd. Due to powers at py the gods themselves can not descend to the mortal realm with their full power meaning I cannot combat this evil alone. Therefore, I have summoned you, chosen souls, to become my vassals, my heroes and restore bance. To my world" And as her words sank in and the css began to react, glowing symbols began to materialize before each student. Intricate designs floating in mid-air, accompanied by shimmering text detailing their newfound abilities and roles. Lumina expined, “You have been granted powers tailored to your strengths—warriors, mages, healers. Together, you shall be a beacon of light against the encroaching darkness for my people.”
After those words were uttered the css bubbled in excitement. Students eagerly inspected their new abilities and csses, whatever initial shock repced by instant enthusiasm much faster then Yuki expected. Yet, amidst the jubition Yuki felt her unease growing. She stood still, staring at the empty space before her that should be occupied by the glowing symbol that appeared before her cssmates, no window, no text, no abilities, no css.
Yuki didn’t know how long she stayed in pce but she was jolted from her thoughts when she heard Haruka speak a question towards the goddess, “um excuse me goddess? W-where is Yuki? She was with us before we got summoned.” She asked the goddess in a voice and tone Yuki had never heard from her before.
Turning her attention to the goddess Yuki watched as that same look of disdain fshed before her eyes before a sad frown covered her features and the goddess gave a slow bow towards Haruka “My apologies but i wasn’t fast enough before the summoning was completed your cssmate called Yuki was already dead. And her soul long gone.” the goddess said with sorrow in her voice.
Yuki’s unease instantly turned to dread as she spoke up “W-what are you talking about im right here?!” She said only for no reply or acknowledgement as Haruka ’s and the rest of her cssmates' heads turned down word with her teacher miss Rei putting a hand to her mouth and start muttering to herself. “Ok s-stop messing around! H-Haruka i’m right here!” Yuki yelled again to no response. Yuki dread then turned to anger as she walked up to Haruka and tried to punch her “stop ignoring me!” she yelled in desperation only for her hand to phase through her cssmate and for her to lose her bance. “Haruka!” Yuki yelled as her desperation seemed to grow even further every passing moment as she tried to touch the rest of her cssmates, her teacher and even the goddess. All to no change she kept phasing through all of them causing her to anger to turn back into desperation and now also fear.
She feared what was happening to her, what would happen to her and what she could even do about it…
Seconds stretched into agonizing minutes and then into hours from her perspective. Her cssmates buzzed around her, oblivious to her plight asking the goddess questions and the goddess patiently answering them. Then, like a bde cutting through her thoughts, a voice devoid of emotion echoed in her mind as a screen appeared in front of her eyes with this one being different from the one before her cssmates instead of gold it was red:[Confirming… You do not meet the Goddess of Light and Healing’s standards.]
Yuki’s breath hitched. Her heart thundered as she looked up at Lumina, silently pleading for acknowledgement. But the goddess’s gaze passed over her as if she didn’t exist. “Wait!” Yuki’s voice cracked, desperation spilling out. “What’s happening to me? Please someone, anyone! Help me!” The ground beneath her feet shimmered, the marble ptform she was standing on beginning to dissolve. And Yuki watched as her own body cracked and light particles began to float away from her body and into the red screen. “No! Stop! Please!” Yuki screamed, her voice breaking into a sob. The ptform beneath her vanished entirely, and she began to fall into the abyss below. As she plummeted, the voice returned, colder than before along with a new red screen: [Confirming… You are to be assimited into the world to act as fuel for its growth.]
The golden light above faded into an oppressive darkness. And Yuki’s senses blurred, her body dissolving piece by piece, like sand scattered by an unseen wind.[Confirming… Assimition Commencing… Fragmented Soul Quality… E… Analyzing Fragment…] [Confirmed… Fragment Quality Highest… Source: Unknown…] [Error… Analyzing… Soul Shaving 0.003% of the Original…] [Analyzing… Possibility of Hostilities from Original…] [Possibility: Negligible.] [Soul Data Shall Now Be Harvested.]
Yuki’s breaths came in shallow, ragged gasps as a searing pain tore through the very core of her being. It wasn't just physical—it was as though her soul itself was being unmade, thread by fragile thread. The mechanical voice echoed relentlessly in her mind, cold and indifferent, each word cutting through her like daggers.
"Soul Data..." The term hung in her thoughts, sharp and foreign, filled with an ominous weight she couldn’t fully comprehend.
“No!” Yuki screamed, her voice trembling and hoarse, her throat burning from the effort. Tears streaked down her face, hot and unrelenting. “What are you doing to me?! Stop this! I don’t want this!”
Her hands cwed at the emptiness around her, desperate to hold onto something, anything, as her body and essence began to feel like sand slipping through her fingers. The sensation of unraveling wasn’t just painful—it was horrifying, an unbearable wrongness that defied all logic.
As the dispassionate system messages continued, they drowned out her cries with their detached efficiency.
[Soul Data Assimition: 1%][Soul Data Assimition: 6%][Soul Data Assimition: 12%][Soul Data Assimition: 26%]
Each percentage completion felt like another piece of her was being taken away. Memories flickered and warped in her mind—the ughter of her friends, the warmth of the sun on her skin, the sharp thrill of life and its simplest joys—all of it was blurring, fading, slipping into an abyss she couldn’t fight against.
Her tears came harder now, streaking her face as she sobbed openly. “Please… someone… anyone… help me…” she whispered, her voice barely audible. But there was no answer, only the unyielding monotony of the system’s commands.
