Chapter 76: Detonating a Nuclear Bomb
The meeting ended.
Jill stayed behind in the former chief's office to handle affairs.
Marvin and the others accompanied Lyon on a tour of the city before heading to the underground research facility.
They had recently added a new elevator shaft directly connected to the facility's main entrance.
The group descended in the elevator.
"I guess there's no chance of getting a decent burger in this world," Tony muttered to Lyon as they rode down.
"The virus has set this pce back to the Middle Ages. The streets are full of people sleeping on the ground, and there's waste and the stench of filth everywhere."
"So, are you regretting tagging along now?" Lyon asked in a low voice.
"Regret?" Tony gave him a look, as if Lyon were joking. "What does that word even mean? Sorry, I don't recognize it."
His wide eyes were full of sincerity. "Now that I'm here, I've got to do something for this world. Consider it as me helping to wash away your sins."
"Don't joke around. How is this my fault? I didn't know the world's consciousness would be this foolish," Lyon retorted.
"That was a joke, but I really do need to contribute something here. Did you forget? I'm Iron Man!" Tony emphasized.
"Alright, Iron Man, so what do you want to do? Design a new suit here?"
"Research your prototype of the S virus!"
"You... must be joking? Your field is energy, materials, and machinery!"
"Heh! Do I look like someone who jokes?"
"...Alright, let me ask you a few questions about biochemistry."
Lyon posed a few cutting-edge biochemical questions that he thought would stump Tony, but Tony answered them all with ease.
"What the fuck? You actually answered all of them? When did you secretly get a Ph.D. in biology without me knowing?" Lyon asked, astonished.
Tony shrugged. "After you mentioned studying Kryptonian genes, I spent a few days on it."
"A few days? You really are a genius."
"Did you think you're the only one who picks things up quickly?" Tony casually shook his head. "Fast learning is just the foundation of being a genius, kid."
Lyon suddenly realized that Tony's learning speed wasn't much slower than his own, despite Lyon having a super brain. Tony truly lived up to Thanos' description of him as "cursed with knowledge."
The elevator arrived at the research facility.
Tony dragged Lyon straight into the b.
In the research of the S virus, Tony's pace was incredibly fast. Often, before Lyon finished expining one part, Tony had already figured out the next three steps.
For the first time, Lyon felt someone else had the same kind of rapid comprehension that his super brain provided.
As they discussed and experimented, each person's sudden inspiration would spark more ideas in the other. Their creative process was like stepping on each other's toes, spiraling upward in an endless loop of breakthroughs.
Next to them, the assistant director Bard and his team, who were there to help, could only stare in shock. They had no idea how their world had produced such geniuses—let alone two of them at once.
Half an hour ter, an orange vial of serum was ready.
"The prototype S virus vaccine. It should be able to form antibodies that block the infection, and it works through the air. But it also neutralizes the enhancement effects of the S virus prototype," Tony said, stroking his chin. "It'll do for now. Hey, you—take this and run tests on the b mice!"
Lyon was holding a golden vial of serum.
"The S1-type virus has been improved. The mutation probability after infection has been reduced to 70%, while the enhancement effects remain the same... But it's still far from the final goal."
He then took out a case he had brought along and opened it, revealing the Extremis virus and a USB drive.
"Tony, why don't you try merging the Extremis virus with the S1 virus?" Lyon said as he removed his white b coat. "Further improvement of the virus requires other reference materials. I'll go look for them—and destroy some nukes along the way."
"Yup. You better hurry. In a few hours, I might even create the perfect version of the S virus right here," Tony replied, eyes glued to the golden vial of virus solution.
After thoroughly examining it, Tony realized that this virus was indeed a potential step in biological evolution.
Having witnessed such a creation, Tony felt this trip was well worth it. In fact, he believed it wouldn't be long before the perfect version of the virus was within his grasp.
At that point, perhaps the two brothers could truly push an entire world into a new stage of evolution—an exciting thought.
"Let's hope so. I'd love it if you could just create the final version of the S virus already."
Lyon wasn't worried about Tony getting infected.
With his special constitution—Gifted by the World Consciousness, Tony no longer faced any risk of turning into a zombie. Even the most infectious viruses in the Resident Evil world could now only serve to make him stronger.
After leaving the underground research b, Lyon shot straight into the sky.
He accelerated mid-flight and within five seconds, he had broken through the atmosphere, floating in outer space.
In the void, his sleeves fluttered silently as his enhanced vision scanned the entire globe, locking onto one super zombie after another on the Earth's surface.
Judgment had arrived!
Like divine punishment, two beams of heat vision descended from outer space. For this era's Earth, it was as though the deadliest space-based weapon from a sci-fi movie had been unleashed.
A super zombie wandering aimlessly on the ground suddenly found itself engulfed by the scorching heat from above.
Tens of trillions of cells across its body screamed in agony, disintegrating into their most basic molecur form within a mere moment.
The red beams from the heavens swept across the earth's surface, like a deity stirring the world with chopsticks.
Wherever the beams passed, the earth shattered, and oceans evaporated.
In the regions of India, millions of super zombies roared at the sky, as if challenging the divine punishment from the heavens, but in an instant, they were reduced to ashes within the beams of light.
The entire world began to focus on these two divine beams, watching them sweep from the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean, and from South Asia all the way into Africa.
The beams even carved deeper chasms alongside the Great Rift Valley in East Africa.
Wherever they went, the seas parted, and the clouds dispersed, resembling the biblical scene of Moses stretching out his staff to divide the waters.
After the entire world had been scoured by the two beams of light, the divine punishment from the sky finally began to fade.
The wicked trembled as if they had fallen into the abyss, while the suffering refugees clung to hope, praying in desperation.
In this moment, they all believed in the existence of a higher power.
But Lyon's actions were far from over.
In just ten minutes, he had eradicated millions of super zombies across the pnet.
Next, there were still nuclear missiles waiting for him.
With a twist of his waist, Lyon dived back into the Earth's atmosphere.
In this world, no one deliberately used lead to block his vision.
With a single sweep of his gaze, Lyon could see all the locations where nuclear warheads were stored on Earth.
When faced with mountains, he passed through them; when met with oceans, he sliced through them. The fortresses designed to withstand nuclear bsts couldn't hold up for long before him.
A few minutes ter, Lyon had wrapped thousands of nuclear warheads from both the United States and Russia in a biological force field and pushed them all into space.
He continued until they were hundreds of thousands of kilometers away from the Earth's atmosphere.
Then, Lyon used his heat vision to detonate all the nuclear missiles.
Brilliant fireworks exploded in space, with invisible penetrating radiation and electromagnetic pulses rippling outward in circles.
Countless satellites simultaneously witnessed this spectacle.
Lyon stood with his back to Earth, his figure flickering in the firelight like a god surveying the heavens and Earth, holding all of creation in his hands.
When he turned back, he did not use his biological force field to conceal his face. Half of his face was illuminated by the firelight, while the other half was bathed in sunlight.
Screens all over the world recorded Lyon's face at that moment.
This chiseled face, as if carved by an axe, was seared deeply into the minds of countless people watching from their screens.

Chapter 77: Collecting experimental materials and having a carnival
Raccoon City.
Ada Wong, Jill, and the others were also watching Lyon's figure on the screen.
"Did he just destroy all the nuclear missiles from both the US and Russia sides?" Even someone as composed as Ada felt her brain heating up slightly at this moment.
Jill stared at the screen, revealing a bitter smile: "I thought that after becoming a superhuman, I had closed the distance between myself and him, but I didn't realize he was this strong."
"Leon big brother, so awesome!!" Sherry cheered, raising her hands. "He saved us again!"
Marvin exchanged gnces with another officer and shrugged: "See, that's why we all call you Kennedy and not Leon. It sounds same as Lyon you know."
Leon S. Kennedy shook his head helplessly: "Maybe I need to get a nickname. Honestly, sharing the same name as that guy is a lot of pressure."
In the research facility, everyone who saw the footage of the missile explosions cheered.
Tony gnced at it and continued working on his research.
He knew better than anyone what kind of power Lyon had.
...
"Next, it's time for Las Pgas and the E-Mold."
Lyon dived back into Earth, disappearing from all satellite views.
Without any concealment, he fell like a meteorite, fmes flickering around him due to friction from the high speed, and he crashed heavily into a vilge in the Wolf's Fang Valley of Spain.
Boom!
A massive shockwave spread out, and dozens of houses in the vilge were instantly blown away by the force.
The ground cracked like a spider web and quickly colpsed.
After the shockwave subsided, Lyon rose from the ten-meter-deep crater caused by the impact and flew towards the castle in the depths of the vilge.
This castle, passed down from the past centuries, was both cssical and grand in its magnificence.
Lyon couldn't help but stop to admire it for a few seconds.
Then, he kicked the castle from the outside, and instantly the entire structure colpsed like a row of dominoes.
People inside the castle emerged from the ruins, dumbfounded, standing there without a scratch due to Lyon's precise control.
"Which one of you is Saddler?" Lyon asked, his gaze fixed directly on a hooded figure holding a staff at the back of the crowd.
Osmund Saddler, the cult leader of Los Illuminados, who intended to use the Las Pgas parasite to control the world.
All the people in the ruins of the castle turned their gaze towards Saddler.
The man under the hood had his face hidden in the shadows, seemingly plotting something sinister.
Thud!
Then he knelt down with a thud.
"Master! I... I am Saddler!"
Lyon stepped over the rubble and walked up to Saddler. "Hand over the Dominant Pga."
"But... but the Dominant Pga... it... it's currently not avaible. Master, perhaps you could give me some time..." Saddler's body trembled slightly.
"Not avaible? Isn't there one right here?"—Squelch!
Lyon stomped on Saddler's head, crushing it, and used his heat vision to incinerate his body.
A few seconds ter, a parasite crawled out.
"I hate it when people lie to me."
He collected the parasite and looked around. "Destroy all the parasites within three days, or you'll be the ones destroyed."
Dust filled the air.
Lyon disappeared without a sound, in stark contrast to his grand entrance.
After a brief silence, the sound of kneeling echoed throughout the scene.
...
A few minutes ter, Lyon suddenly appeared in a vilge in Romania.
At extreme speed, combined with the biological force field, Lyon's movements seemed akin to teleportation.
Just like the previous location.
This was a vilge on the outskirts, but internally, it was a castle.
Lyon hovered above the center of the castle.
He observed the surroundings, pinpointed the cave where the mold host was located, and dove straight in.
The solid rock was effortlessly pierced like tofu.
In front of Lyon appeared a massive conglomerate of mold occupying the cave.
This was the mold host.
The mold host's appearance was like that of an infant, almost pink in color, with a rhythmic rise and fall as if it were breathing.
Lyon could even hear the life-filled rhythm within it, as countless mycelium transported nutrients throughout its form.
"This is the third evolutionary key in the world of Resident Evil—mold."
Lyon took out an injection syringe, stabbed it into the mold host, and drew a full vial of mycelium.
After storing the vial, he shot heat vision from his eyes, burning the massive mold host to ashes in just a few breaths.
"Ah!! Who! Who destroyed the mold host!"
As soon as the mold host was burned to ashes, a piercing scream came from outside the cave.
The response was as fast as unplugging the internet cable of a gaming addict—just as the plug was pulled, the wailing began.
Lyon remained unmoved, punched through the cave ceiling, flew into the sky, and continued destroying the mycelium.
"How dare you! Stop right now!!"
The woman who had been screaming before approached at high speed.
It was Miranda, the first person infected by the mold and the ruler of this territory.
Behind her was a dense group of people.
There were men, women, those who still looked somewhat human, and others who no longer did.
This was a group entirely infected by the E-mold.
Lyon's goal was to destroy the mold.
The arrival of these people was exactly what he had hoped for.
According to the plot progression of the Resident Evil games, it seemed likely that the mold could develop into an apocalyptic threat.
Since he was already here, Lyon decided to take the opportunity to clear away all these hidden dangers—considering it as completing the task of saving the world that the world consciousness had mentioned earlier.
He immediately ascended and used "full power" to unleash his freezing breath.
A few seconds ter, the entire vilge turned into an enormous piece of solid ice, even the ke surrounding the vilge was not spared.
Every facet of the massive ice block was crystal clear.
Lyon could even see Miranda, frozen in the ice, her expression forever twisted in a grimace.
"Hmm.. I remember this person has lived for over a hundred years; the mold indeed has unique qualities."
He flew to the edge of the ice block, exerted his strength, and lifted the massive block with a radius of over three kilometers and a height of over two hundred meters, then flew into space.
Soon, satellites from various countries once again captured Lyon's figure.
However, this time everyone watching the screens was even more baffled.
Where did this deity find a giant ice block filled with people, houses, flowers, and trees?
Was he performing some kind of magic trick?
They watched as Lyon hurled the ice block into space and then shattered it with a punch.
Immediately, countless ice crystals, no more than 1mm in diameter, scattered, resembling a dispy of silver-white fireworks blooming in the dark night.
Everyone in front of the screens couldn't help but say "how beautiful" about the cosmic spectacle.
When they returned to look at the mysterious figure, he had disappeared once again.
...
On the other side.
Lyon had just returned to the police station and was greeted with a warm welcome from everyone.
Jill led the way, shouting thanks.
She saluted with tears in her eyes, then hugged him.
For a moment, the hall was filled with appuse, cheers, and even sounds of joyful crying.
Various emotions surged like waves of the sea, rising and falling repeatedly.
Party poppers were set off beside Lyon, scattering colorful confetti like a waterfall.
There was also champagne—Kennedy pressed his thumb against the cork, shook the bottle vigorously, and cheered as the fountain of wine sprayed out.
They all knew what had just happened, and they knew that the savior before them had saved them.
They had watched on screen as this man used his heat rays to kill the super zombies and detonate the nuclear warheads.
Today was undoubtedly the happiest day in the past month for them.
Everyone surrounded Lyon.
Whether it was girls or boys, they all wanted to kiss him hard on the cheek and then proudly show off to others.
They all saw hope.
The seemingly unsolvable super zombies and the nuclear bombs that had no solution....
Here with Lyon, they were all dealt with in less than half an hour.
As if the end of the world, in front of this man, was just a noisy game of make-believe. Here, the name Lyon had completely become synonymous with the future.
The men lifted Lyon up and threw him into the air, smiles beaming on their faces, as if they were lifting their beloved on their wedding day.
The women pushed Lyon onto the podium, hoping he could say a few more words.
Even if it was just one sentence, they could definitely dream about meeting this handsome savior all night.
Lyon wasn't really a fan of this kind of situation.
It reminded him of hanging on Tony's neck during various parties when he was a child.
Ugh!
Those weren't exactly what he would call fond memories.
After all, he could only be a spectator.
But the hopeful gazes from everyone made Lyon realize that he should probably say something.
"Ahm!"
So, he cleared his throat, looked around the now-silent hall, and after thinking for a moment, he sang the international anthem in French.
The not-so-loud singing echoed in the police station's hall.
Slowly, some people began to join Lyon's rhythm, singing in English, Russian.
When the song ended, some cheered loudly while others were in tears.
But they all had one thing in common—they rushed towards the podium, trying to hug Lyon again.
The celebration at that moment sted until the evening.
Later, even Tony returned to the police station, bringing a rge number of researchers, and joined the festivities.
He danced the waltz with girls and drank Bordeaux with beauties, that happiness that had been missing for a month suddenly returned at this moment.
