Chapter 1: By the gods why I am here

I regained consciousness slowly, memories of the Hi-tech world flooding back. The st thing I remembered was casting a glimpse of that world before being engulfed by a bright light. Now, I was here—powerless, senseless, and hopeless. The frustration overwhelmed me, and I couldn't help but cry out, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH."

The room fell into a stunned silence. A somber couple stood nearby, looking at their supposedly dead child, while a maid carried another child. Suddenly, the sound of my screams filled the room. The couple's expressions shifted from sorrow to surprise, then to joy. The mother buried her face in my tiny body, crying in relief. The father became ecstatic, thanking the gods for giving their child a second chance.

Long story short, Merrylyn the sage became Anastasia Greyrat. Being reborn didn't bother him, but the idea of accumuting enough mana to travel to other worlds was daunting. Worse, he didn't reincarnate into a long-living race, which meant he had to take drastic measures to extend his lifespan. Every second was precious, so he immediately used innate reinforcement. Instead of accumuting magic in his body, he concentrated it in his bones, making his mana capacity less obvious and preventing others from heralding him as a god's apostle.

His new father, Paul Greyrat, greatly annoyed him. The man wouldn't stop touching his face, making it difficult not to transform on the spot and smack him. Now, as Anastasia, he wondered why they named him this way. They thought he was a girl. It wasn't that he minded the idea of becoming a girl, but their assumption irked him. "Aw... look at our little girl brooding so seriously," Paul cooed. By the gods... so he—no, she—cried again.

  --

Anastasia gnced at her twin brother. For a split second, her eyes changed color, revealing a hidden truth—he, too, had been reincarnated. But why was his soul rger than hers? She was Merrylyn, the greatest magician ever, not self-procimed at all. As Merrylyn, she had modified the magic circle to appear as a normal person upon arrival on Earth. She possessed combat proficiency, but in this life, she intended to avoid using magic to keep things from becoming boring too quickly. Instead, she pnned to become a sword wielder. Perhaps that was why her soul had become smaller.

Regardless, she needed to recite the basics of magic from her world. Understanding these fundamentals would help her grasp how magic worked in this world and ensure she didn't forget any crucial details, allowing her to integrate seamlessly.

  --

five months passed by and she could crawl and her speed could rival a spider, due to her continuous mana integration onto the bone her bone and her entire body matured faster than one could expect as her flesh could withstand a punch easily from a grown adult, that's how powerful she was but currently, she is escaping from her parents why would you asked well to retaliate those sleepless nights as the two dared to have intercourse in front of their child that is sleeping on the crib, Anastasia is quite a petty person so by giving them scares that their precious daughter will have an oopsie, Anastasia was satisfied seeing the fear-stricken in their face when they shouted her to stop as she acts to go down from the stairs.

Her mother hugged her tightly, clearly shaken with fear. Her father didn't hesitate; he went straight to the shed and installed a barricade to prevent her from doing it again. Maybe she had messed up somewhere, but she didn't care at all. She didn't feel bad about it. She could be obedient for a while, just to keep the peace.

Her twin brother, Rudeus, watched her with clear jealousy. He had tried and tried to crawl but hadn't succeeded yet. Lilia, the maid, favored Anastasia, which wasn't a surprise. Anastasia had cried at birth and didn’t fuss over mundane things, except for occasionally chewing on her fist. She was using her acceleration magic on her mouth to mature her vocal cords sooner.

Rudeus, on the other hand, already had a perverted grin that sometimes disturbed Anastasia. When it got too annoying, she would gently smack him, hoping it would deter his behavior, even if just a little.

  --

Seven months had passed, and Anastasia could speak clearly, pronouncing words with ease. She had hidden this ability, waiting for the perfect moment to funt her genius. Dinner time arrived, and she seized the opportunity.

"Mama, Papa, I am hungry... Lilia, give me food," Anastasia said cutely.

The entire table fell silent. Even Rudeus couldn't hide his shocked expression. How could a child become so expressive so quickly? Rudeus himself had only just managed to crawl.

Anastasia waited a moment, relishing the silence before her father erupted in celebration. "She called me Papa!" he excimed, becoming rowdy with joy. Her mother hugged her tightly, rubbing her cheek against Anastasia's head. Lilia smiled warmly as she served her food.

Anastasia gnced at her twin brother, giving him a smug smile that ticked him off even more.

Deep in the night, Anastasia woke up. Sensing that everyone was asleep, she gently opened the window and transformed into her dark knight form, Velvyr. This name wasn't chosen randomly at all; she had thought it through carefully. As the name suggests, this form was fully covered in dark armor, with embers flickering out from its cracks. The only visible part of her was the glowing red eyes behind the helmet. Velvyr's stature was significantly taller than her human form—an intentional decision, as copying her small body size would have been impractical.

She headed towards the woods to sharpen her skills early on. With a broken sword at her hip, Velvyr easily dispatched the creatures she sensed in the darkness. Each swing of her sword was precise, each movement fluid, demonstrating her ability and strength behind those swings.

With ease, Anastasia reverted to her human form and slipped back into the room, quietly settling beside Lilia, the maid who was more like family to her than just a servant. She canceled the sleeping spell in the vicinity, taking extra precautions to ensure she wouldn't be caught sneaking out accidentally. Removing any lingering traces of magic, she closed her eyes, finally drifting into a peaceful sleep.
