So how big are your chances against her?
I asked as I applied more nature energy to my side and tails.
“Hmm about 10%, 12% on a good day. With you we have a whopping 15% chance on killing her!”
Not very high but it’s better than nothing. Can I leave movement up to you? I can use [Dragon] but it will free up a lot of processing power if my tails don’t have to deal with the ones that haven’t turned sentient yet.
“Let me take care of flying! I don’t know what you mean with those other things but it must be related to those strange dragons I saw in the distance.”
Yeah.
“I must say, you did quite a number on her. And you’re not dead!”
Yet. But I guess so.
Inyr moved around and was effortlessly evading tomato goddess’ attacks.
So, what does one need to eat to get this big?
“I think her size is related to her ego.” Inyr said while ascending to get on eye height of tomato bitch.
Wow that’s actually a good one.
“I appreciate It that you recognize my presence and can’t help to talk about me but this is insulting. To suggest that my ego is this small is preposterous!” Tomato bitch said angrily, suggesting that her ego is way bigger than this.
You heard her Inyr. I guess you were wrong.
“It seems so yeah…”
So, what’s the plan?
“You are asking me? A dragon? For a plan?”
Right, that was foolish. I don’t have a plan either. Although. My original plan was to destroy her religion and destroy as much of her country as possible.
“Works for me! Let’s pick up your other half!”
My other half?
“You seem quite incomplete at the moment; it’s getting a bit hot even for me.”
Yeah, I’m overheating quite a lot. I need to get close to Nilah to cancel [Heat Exchange].
I held on to Inyr as he effortlessly weaved between Biian’s attack and flew to Bizax by my directions. I had difficulties cooling off because I was unable to cool off in this mode. It’s glaring weakness was that Nilah and I needed to stick together. Inyr dove down while evading all the light attacks as the capital drew near. He got hit several times but it did 0 damage. Dragons are so overpowered.
He skilfully dove down and I grabbed Nilah with my tail. She was frozen to the ground and some frozen ground got pulled out with her. I hugged her with my tails and we exchanged heat and cancelled [Heat Exchange] after our temperatures were relatively equalized. She was still too cold and I was still too hot but we were in a range where we could cancel the skill.
Let’s try this again later, ok? The tomato goddess seems to be taken a lot of damage just from the [Foxfire Frostburn].
Nilah expelled cold air and snuggled in my 5th tail.
Thank you again Inyr, that could have turned out quite nasty if you didn’t show up.
Inyr laughed while leaving [Wind Orbs] behind to intercept the countless light attacks flying at us. “Oh no! I have to thank you for providing me an exciting fight like this!”
Right, I forgot that you’re a battle junkie. How did you find me actually?
“You must be joking right? One half of the continent could see the carnage of your fight happen and the other half can certainly hear it. Granted your attacks aren’t loud but this oversized light mote is loud.”
Uh really? I guess I tuned out her screams and angry sounds.
“The north of this continent was always boring; I like what you did to it.“
I could see from up here where the border of the Igrini Kingdom started because it had several craters north of the elven forest which had been caused by my dust explosions I had set off. I could also see an enormous blue trail burnt into the ground in northeast Bizax, extending westward spanning for at least a hundred kilometers, maybe more. It was cone shaped and made its mark on Bizax. There were also countless patches of light mana corruption of all the attacks that bitch had missed.
Quite colorful. How about you also sign the landscape.
“Ooh very artistic! I like that! How about it? My dragonwind and your foxfire should make a great combo.”
Ooh you want to burn it down?
“Let’s burn it down! A legendary beast and a mythical beast teaming up! How long have I waited for this!” Inyr got excited and his mana spiked. It felt oppressive but it wasn’t aimed at me so it was bearable. I should fix myself up so I can have mana in my system and also do this.
I applied more nature energy to my ribs. They weren’t broken but they hurt. My 3rd and 4th tail had scorch marks on them and the injuries they had were a bit more severe. I couldn’t fix this with nature energy. I hid them because they wouldn’t have to take care of defence with Inyr here.
Alright I’m ready!
“Let’s scorch this land and carve our names in history!” I held on to Inyr as he ascended even more and had strong winds supported his flight. “Are you ready, young fox!? How about something a bit special? This won’t just be air but a flammable gas!”
He started to use wind [Dragonbreath] and I ignited it with [Foxfire: Autumn Breeze]. The multi-coloured blaze ignited Inyr’s [Dragonbreath] and created something beautiful yet terrifying.
Biian screamed as this was a combination of attacks that is quite effective against gods. “Quit being obnoxious! You two would make for some great fashion! Stay still and turn into my coat and purse!”
Inyr created hurricanes which I ignited with foxfire.
“My beautiful country!” Biian was good at killing living things but she didn’t have the skillset to dispel or cancel out foxfire hurricanes. All she could do was attempt to block them.
Inyr her capital is there!
I said as I pointed at the bright and expensive looking city and Inyr responded by creating freak winds that tore into the pink barriers protecting it and then the buildings of her capital after several shattered. I spotted another city not too far that was gathering light magic. A tall tower was glowing and shot a laser at us.
“Yes, my followers! Defend your beautiful home country!” Bian lauded.
I created a large [Frost Mirror] and reflected it back. The laser returned to it's source, destroyed the tower and set part of the city ablaze.
“Noo my academy!”
Oh, so that was Biian Academy? Good I still had beef with them. serves them right for messingg with my ex-students!
Inyr took some light attacks but he was relatively fine. He created vacuum pockets and high-pressure fronts which refracted the light a bit and I used water Dragonvein to help him out. “Be careful young fox! A big one is coming!”
Biian was charging up her bullshit attack again, this time bigger and filled with way more divine energy.
Uhh you can tank this right?
“You must be joking right? I’m a wind dragon not an earth dragon!”
Want some frost armor?
“Make it cool looking, will ya?”
Nilah, I need you to help me make a frost armor for Inyr and we then need to use [Heat Exchange]. I need you to be the ‘Hot’ again.
Nilah and I covered Inyr in a frost armor. It looked super cool but it blocked most of my Elgards eyes so I couldn’t see much of it. I had to briefly drop it to marvel at our masterpiece. Nilah went ‘hot’ as we got blasted by tomato bitch’s stupidly overpowered [Biian’s Nuke].
Frozen winds and foxfire winds tore through the land and sky as Nilah was venting foxfires and spending all the converted spirit energy I was sending to her. I continuously reinforced the armor around Inyr and myself. We would get vaporized into atoms if I messed up here. My body temperature plummeted as Nilah couldn’t keep up.
Bizax’ weather forecast: Code Red. Temperature: Extreme. 100% chance of a multi colored foxfire rain with a northwestern dragonwind carrying frost foxfires in the northern and eastern parts of Bizax. Sunshine levels: [Biian’s Nuke] tier of light can be expected. Sunshades might not work as your retinas are toast unless you are of legendary or mythical tier, stray blasts of light or lasers are to be expected with the resulting mana corruption. Wind: Beware of category 5 foxfire hurricanes and gas based [Dragonbreaths]. Recommendation: Stay home, preferably in a dark magically enhanced bunker. Not that it will help but it might increase the survival rate from ‘certain death’ to just ‘death’.
Even that wasn’t enough foxfire use to prevent me from freezing and turning into a popsicle.
Shit I should’ve taught her spatiotemporal magic! Nilah lets swap!
Our body temperatures swapped and I started throwing mana expensive spatiotemporal skills around.
Oh, I can use this now because you can tank this!
I made a dimensional portal while we were still under assault of that stupid attack. Normally this would deal great damage to anything that went through this besides myself, but Inyr and his new armor can take this. It was extremely mana expensive using portals this big without a set [Dimensional Anchor]. Only I can turn stupidly expensive skills into an advantage.
Inyr flew through the expensive portal and we evaded the attack by appearing behind Biian. She just shifted the attack back to us and I kept using the expensive portals to warp us around. Inyr continued to send freak winds around, hurricanes and gas bombs, which I all ignited. Biian got skewered by enormous [Wind Lances] and a freak wind almost toppled her.
“We’re chipping at her divine energy! Let’s keep it up!” Inyr said as he dropped in altitude to evade an enormous laser.
“Stand still you pests!” A large laser grazed Inyr and blasted the frost armor off him and left a scorch mark behind. It did give Nilah a large amount of energy that she dumped by landing countless [Kryokym].
“Ooh another battle scar! You wanted to torch her capital, right? Why is it still standing?”
Inyr posed an excellent question.
I looked over at her capital, I’m sure she named it after herself too. It was still protected by some dumb pink barrier which was light based and was struggeling after what Inyr's winds had done to it..
Oh, I have something that can break light barriers. Let’s chip away more of her divine energy.
We had slowly become accustomed to being under the constant assault of her stupid attack but Nilah was still freezing over.
How about some silver lightning then?
Inyr’s frost armor got imbued by silver lightning. I couldn’t get him into [Silver Torrent] mode but that would be overpowered. Inyr rammed into the bitch’s kneecap after emerging from an expensive portal.
Get the other too!
Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author.
I warped him over and he rammed into her other kneecap which sent her falling down. She shrunk in size to limit the damage she would do to her own country. She would also crush her own capital if she fell over at this size.
“Let’s pile on to it more!” Inyr started using [Dragon Dance] which formed wind spears and wind spheres the size of mountains appeared and flew at Biian which I ignited too.
Biian's stupid attack had halted so our temperatures turned back to normal. Nilah and I cancelled our [Heat Exchange] and continued dropping attacks on her.
“Aagh! Why does it hurt so much!” Biian was back to her human size and writhing around in pain. She had over 200 [Foxfire Frostburn] stacks on her and also countless [Draconic Windburn] stacks on her and small wind blades kept creating small cuts in her. She scratched at it suggesting that it itched. The cuts did regenerate but this kept going on.
Let’s take her down! You handle flying and defence as usual. I’m going to use [Elgard Overload]
“Is that wise? Won’t it drop you out of your true form?”
It will but I have a backup plan but I’m also planning to make it worthwhile. What is your true form actually?
“Oh, you want to see it? Well, I suppose this is the perfect occasion! Hold on my friend!”
Inyr shook and the frost armor around him shattered as he expanded in size. The winds picked up as he kept growing and growing. His length matched the length of a mountain range. He was absolutely massive.
“Let’s kill a god!”
All the air in the direct area was swirling around our battlefield. I was still raining down foxfires on Bizax and this wind just boosted it even more. I started [Elgard Overload] and had the day and night shift until the blood moon arose. I was still on his head but I was just a speck on his enormous head.
You eat wind mana, right? Is there anything else that powers you up?!
“Updrafts that aren’t mine power me up and I consume wind mana indeed.” His voice was loud but not obnoxiously loud and it sounded extremely clear.
My tails used [Howling Updraft] and while I wasn't skilled in wind magic, I can create enormous masses of wind mana and this is what I did. I created countless of wind mana pockets in the air with a near infinite density. This didn’t seem extremely impossible as I currently had a massive amount of mana in possession. Inyr started to feast on them and it gave him a serious boost. We might actually be able to kill this bitch.
“Hold on! It’s time for a [Wind Dragondive]!”
I froze myself to Inyr’s massive head as he ascended and dove down. I created wind mana pockets in front of him during his descent which added more power.
So what would happen if a mountain range sized dragon uses a [Dragondive] that is nearing the speed of sound? I had no idea. I guess I will find out.
Countless illusion layers got used to speed him up. Let’s see if he can reach Mach 2!
Countless light barriers appeared on Biian. The humidity was 0 but [Elgards Overload] doesn’t care so [Tsunami] activated and broke all her barriers. She wanted to say something but Inyr crashed into her. I had covered myself in countless layers of frost to ensure I wouldnt get screwed over by the recoil or fly off into space.
This attack of Inyr puts [Meteor] to shame. Inyr burrowed a bit and burst out of the ground ejecting rock and lava everywhere. I used every rock and blob of magma by turning them into [Frost Mirrors] and reflecting light attacks that were flying at us.
The whole of Bizax had become a hostile environment for this goddess. My first window of near-infinite power came up and I used it to drop all my ultimate skills and strong attacks simultaneously. All the clones that were on standby in the sea sent large volumes of water at me to aid in water attributed skills.
“Ugh! Where is Zax when I need him!” Biian said as she put up another light barrier.
Inyr’s wind [Dragonbreath] broke through tomato bitch’s light barrier that she set up to protect herself. She tried to recover but I had Inyr’s attack repeat and it hit her this time.
Another [Dragon dance], which was extremely intimidating even to me. Not only was it raining multi-coloured foxfires on Bizax but it was also raining wind spears and wind spheres the size of [Meteors]. The wind Inyr created just moved around, picked up anything that hadn’t been molten or incinerated yet and got flung around. I used illusion layers to all turn those into attacks and sent them at Biian.
My overpowered window had ended so I was dealing with the consequences and kicking them out of reality. I also kicked any restrictions Inyr had out of reality so he could loop is [Dragon dance] indefinitely.
“I forgot how good it feels to fight with you foxes!” Inyr sped up his [Dragon dance] and Bizax turned into a shittier place to be at this moment. That was putting it lightly. The capital seemed to have had multiple of its barriers broken and there were only a few left. A quick scan revealed that the capital was the only settlement standing in this part of Bizax.
With Inyr’s current size, it was impossible for Biian to hit me. It also seemed that she would need more divine energy to threaten Inyr. Wearing her divine energy down was a good idea. My next and last window came up and I had a great idea.
Can you get closer to her?
Inyr finished his [Dragon dance], snacked on more pockets of wind mana and dove to Biian who was too busy keeping her capital safe. She looked incredibly beat up. Would we kill her? If she doesn’t want to die, she has to abandon her capital and flee. Her divine energy was incomparably low compared to when she first arrived at my house in Girai.
It was either having her expend this much divine energy or wiping out most of her followers that did this.
The window came up and I shattered an illusion layer, used [Illusionary Dagger] and created Elliana, Greg and Raishin. That wasn’t the impossibility, the impossibility was me attempting to make them very real. I had decided to not kick this impossibility out of reality after [Elgard Overload] ends. It will create a backlash on my body but it has a high chance of making the search for them easier as their existence will be pulled toward our dimension.
Greg’s shadows completely shut down any light-based attack Biian attempted. Raishin kept chucking [Teranova Blasts] and [Black Lightning Hazes]. Elliana was… shooting arrows. It didn’t do much but she is also part of our group.
Greg had the most influence on this exchange as the battle swinged completely in our favor and we got the unfair advantage. Halfway the window I let Raishin and Greg go into their tailed best mode. Mana waves rippled through the area as I made 3 more blood moons appear. My eyes hurt like hell but it was worth it if we could kick her ass.
Raishin went Raijin mode and kept laying down the hurt with countless crits. Greg used his palette swap skill and turned the light attacks Biian sent out into dark based attacks. This in turn dropped her attack power to 0 because she doesn’t have a dark magic affinity.
“What… what is this nonsense! I am a Sarian God! I can’t lose! Stop cheating you furball!” She said as she was still letting out screams whenever any frost or foxfire skill of mine hit her. Inyr’s attacks also hadn’t stopped and his [Draconic Windburn] stacks seemed to do something similar to my [Foxfire Frostburn] stacks so she would be continuously taking damage even if we would stop attacking and flee.
This is payback for the time you attacked Greg, Raishin and I! they are not here but they can still participate in the payback! I’m extremely petty just like you are. I am not going to forget anything you did to us and I will pay you back a thousandfold every time your mug appears!
Nilah and I used a brief [Heat Exchange] and we also threw around hot and cold foxfires.
Inyr used [Draconic Gale] and it ripped Biian to shreds. She regenerated as motes of light pieced her together but the Greg clone turned it into darkness which slowed her regeneration.
“How vexing! Zax! Where are you! I should have done a better job wiping out all these races. The dragons are up next!”
“Haha do your worst Sarian Goddess! I love a good battle! But you will fall here. Have a taste of one of my favorite skills, [Storm Dragon]!”
Uhhm Inyr this is 9t friendly right?
“Don’t worry young fox!” Inyr’s mana spiked and dragons made out of wind appeared. It was extremely similar to my wind [Dragon]! These however seem way stronger.
My [Elgard Overload] was ending soon and I kicked every impossibility, besides my buddies’ presence, out of reality. The duplicate blood moons disappeared and the sky cycled back through day and night to return back to normal. I also got kicked out of 9t mode afterward.
Inyr’s [Storm Dragons] were still terrorizing Biian, however.
“Are you alright young fox? That was amazing but that must have taken a lot out of you.”
Yes, thank you. But I still have to do a payback for one more person. I had the payback against Witchaven but this bitch also needs to get the same. Can you put me down near her capital and create a dome of fire strengthening winds around it? And leave the top open.
“Ooh this is going to be excited, isn’t it?” Inyr dropped me off next to the capital and flew away. I had my clones in the sea send me a lot of seawater as Inyr coiled around the capital and the area around it.
Biian was still standing… Barely. “Ugh, so you came to surrender, did you?”
How can you say that if you look completely beat up? Either way, I still need to deliver payback for the witch you sealed away millennia ago.
“What does that bitch have to do with anything?”
We got stuck in Boshi Town because of your bullshit and she helped us a lot. Even in her absence she has helped me a lot and I consider her to be my mentor.
I used [Tsunami] to break the light barriers around the capital. [Tsunami] has the ability to break any light and earth-based barrier and was a skill Azu taught me.
“My city!” her city was flooded. It had endured draconic winds, wind spheres and wind spears, stray light attacks from their own deity, foxfire rains and now a [Tsunami] and a flood. Truly a bad day to be a cultist.
I pointed my finger at the sky and made a [Fireball] at the tip of my finger.
Do you know what they called me in Witchaven? ‘Fireball Misha’. I will demonstrate the results of Ayaru Mistflower’s life work, the one you sealed away for some bullshit.
The [Fireball] got dynamically changed and grew in size and intensity.
Nilah, flood me with pure mana. Let’s show this goddess the true identity of ‘Magic’.
The swirling winds Inyr was creating was feeding my [Fireball]. I was also dynamically changing the magic circle to become even better and more efficient. It ceased to be the simple and weak [Fireball] everyone knows. It had turned into a fireball of death and this is where I stopped controlling it. Spatiotemporal mana mixed with it as it always does with my uncontrolled fires.
Have a taste. Boom!
The fireball exploded and scorched anything inside Inyr’s dome. A weak light barrier had protected the city but it had shattered. Biian panted as her divine energy was almost spent.
That was just a taste! The real threat is over there!
I had asked Inyr to leave the top of the dome open for a reason. A blue ball of fire the size of a house descended slowly into the dome, right above her capital. The [Storm Dragons] flew into it and gave it a massive boost. I might have Nilah protect me from it’s blast.
“A weak and slow skill is no issue for me!” She said and flew at it to intercept it.
I shook my head thinking that she should flee while she can. That there was my new [Foxfire: Meteor] it is slow but almost a thousand times stronger than my [Meteor]. It also had the added bonus of being extremely effective against gods since its made out of foxfire.
[Tsunami] gives me 3 free skills but I had still poured almost all my mana into it. I wanted to make sure this kills her and if not makes her flee and reconsider messing with me again. This was the best I can do with magic currently. The [Foxfire: Meteor] grew because of Inyr’s influence and Nilah turned into her large form and covered me with her tails.
[Foxfire: Meteor] exploded and filled the whole dome of wind with intense blue foxfire.
Inyr was a bit uncomfortable but he seemed to be using wind to protect himself. The goddess however was not. I then sealed the deal with [Azure Mist]. Another blue fire explosion went off as mana had been used inside [Azure Mist] and thus got punished. This one was stronger since Inyr’s wind boosted the power of any fire-based skill used in this dome.
It took one more before a light pillar appeared and she fled to the gods realm. This light pillar looked quite weak.
Inyr stopped his wind dome and returned to his normal size. The capital was gone. What did appear was a lot of sea water. It wasn’t as big as the one Greg’s mom had made millenia ago but I had drastically reduced Bizax’s landmass and created a large hole in the ground.
The Sevian Sea had increased in size again. The winds subsided as did the foxfires. It didn’t take long of the weather in Bizax to turn back to normal.
“Wow that attack hurt! You scorched some of my scales!” Inyr showed off several spots that had scorched him. He also showed off a scorch mark he got by taking Biian’s laser. He seemed proud of his battle scars. “It was sloppy but we drove her off. That was an amazing fight! I won’t ever forget this!”
I collapsed to the ground exhausted.
“Hey are you ok?”
Yeah, I’m just exhausted, my head and my eyes hurt. It’s good that worked and thank you for helping I would have died without your help.
I was sitting at a new, quite scorched beach made out of dark blue ash. It was quite pretty.
I am glad I got that out of my system but I got new problems.
2 of my tails were injured by divine energy and I also had an injury in my side caused by divine energy. My left arm had finished regenerated as 2 hours had passed since I lost it.
We survived somehow.
“You destroyed a large part of her religion. Although that doesn’t directly hurt her it will cause her to generate less divine energy. But it’s strange she should have a concentrated mass of energy somewhere that she can easily convert into divine energy.”
Uhh a head sized ball of mana? Glowing gold and darkgold? Floating above some altar of some kind?
“Yeah, gods with religions collect offerings of mana and prayer and condense it. They use it as a backup for situations like these. I guess she got arrogant and thought she didn’t need one.”
Oh, so that’s what it was. Good job Nilah!
I petted Nilah but got hit by the backlash from my [Elgard Overload] as I intentionally failed to kick out all impossibilities. It was as expected but still unpleasant and I coughed up blood.
“Hey there! Don’t go dying after our victory!”
I will be fine, I think…
My 5th tail notified that the probe had found something.
Yes! Totally worth it! Hey Inyr do you mind… if I take a nap?
“I will drag you to a human city if you’re planning on dying like this!”
Don’t worry. I can kick the bucket after I’ve accomplished the long list of things I want to do.
“Very well. I need you to stay alive for various reasons.” I curled up in my tails as I was feeling extremely sleepy. Nilah curled her tails around me I her big form and Inyr coiled his body around me. I fell into a deep slumber, happy that my gambit had paid off.
