Nightmare Dungeon 7: Timeloop 1 - Boss Music

“Oh! That’s a beautiful music piece!” Yvonne said as she ran toward the sound.

“Hey is it me or is her aura a bit different?”

Toxic Donkey rubbed his temple. “Don’t pay too much attention to it. These Hourai people don’t make any sense at all. You will rest easier if you don’t think too much of it. I do hear music, however. It sounds…. Intimidating. Is this where Agnis got his [Bossmusic] from? It sends shivers through my spine.”

“These guardians are problematic. They are the physical and magic, the fast and powerful.”

“Paul seems to be as fast as Arby. I should be able to deal with him. You can eat mana right?” Toxic Donkey asked, recalling that dragons eat mana.

“It’s limited if it’s not my element, but I can eat problematic magic yes, it might give me a stomach ache, but that’s better than dead on injured.”

“Good to know that we’re on the same page. Now I don’t know how strong Yvonne is though. She’s a mythical beast, so any expectation we have will probably get shattered by some insane feat.”

“Hey, Kyle I know you’re a human but do you think I’m weak? I saw Yvonne create fire with wind magic like it was nothing, and obliterate the village and the root like it was nothing. I am a dragon, but I don’t think I could ever win against Yvonne even in a friendly match.”

Toxic Donkey put his hand on Vinny’s shoulder.

“It’s not you who’s weak, it’s them who are stupidly strong. I accepted this about myself years ago. It’s not that I’m weak, but Io is stupidly strong. All I can do is to keep doing my best to keep up with her.”

The music had become intense. Toxic Donkey and Vinny entered the space where their fight was supposed to be but Yvonne had already engaged Paula. She was hopping around, evading everything and sending wind attacks and blue and pink petals at Paula, which seemed to give Paula a lot of trouble.

“So about you being weak… just look at that, such agility… does she even need our help…” Toxic Donkey pointed at the fight between Paula and Yvonne.

“I don’t know… It does seem like she’s quite focused. She might not be able to handle it if Paul stops playing piano and joins the fight.”

“But he’s not playing anymore, look he’s coming over here.” Toxic Donkey pointed his dagger at Paul.

“Huh then who is playing the piano?”

“It seems to be a magic piano…”

“Of course it is…” Vinny was wondering if they will encounter anything normal in this dungeon.

“How fast or agile are you Vinny?”

  “On land? Not very…”

“Leave Paul to me and prepare to destroy the root then.”

  “Ok.”

Toxic Donkey took his stance and stared Paul down. He was aware that Paul was very fast. He was about to take a poison vial out of his suit when the music got more intense and something crashed into him. Toxic Donkey and whatever crashed into him got sent flying into a wall.

“Ooh, sorry! Are you ok?” Yvonne got up and pulled Toxic Donkey out of the wall.

“I am so grateful for this suit…”

“I’m sorry I messed up.” Yvonne dusted herself off. She seemed to have minor injuries but was fine otherwise.

“I didn’t do anything yet, and I already took more damage than you…”

“I don’t think I can take both of them unless I go into my rabbit mode.”

Toxic Donkey tilted his head. “Rabbit mode?”

“Giana and Noelle call it 4t mode.”

“Wait that stupidly overpowered state in which you tailed beasts become like demigods?”

  “You know about it?”

“Yeah… I saw Agnis actually kill a demi-god with it.”

“Ooh, Giana might want to hear that story. Let’s deal with these first.” Yvonne crouched and disappeared. More accurately, she jumped forward at great speed while leaving blue and pink petals behind. The petals trailed behind her and picked up speed and flew at Paula.

Toxic Donkey, went into stealth, coated his dagger in poison and approached Paul. It didn’t seem as if Paul knew what was going to happen. Thinking he could get an easy kill, Toxic Donkey struck but it got evaded. Paul instantly countered.

It took Toxic Donkey by surprise but he managed to parry the sword strike. “What the fuck? Some sort of [Auto Dodge]? What a pain in the ass.”

Toxic Donkey and Paul exchanged some strikes and Paul was slowly speeding up.

“Why is this old man so fast?” Toxic Donkey complained and used a leg sweep which connected. He shifted his body and pulled Paul’s right arm to his right side and attacked with a dagger in his left hand. Paul moved his body toward Toxic Donkey, slamming into him. This caused the attack to miss, but the poisoned dagger grazed Paul.

  Toxic Donkey jumped back.

He had sustained minimal damage. Paul seemed fine too but the match had already been decided. Toxic Donkey was an assassin, after all. Battles don’t take too long when he’s not messing around.

“Oh, shit I need to time this with Yvonne! Hey Yv…”

The music got even more intense and something crashed into him again. Yvonne had been sent flying into Toxic Doney again and both crashed into the wall.

“I swear… these mythical beasts…. More like mythical pain in the ass!”

“I’m sorry! I’m almost done!” Yvonne got up and pulled Toxic Donkey out of the wall.

“I should give Agnis more credit, at least his friendly fire was off, he also gave me this suit which has saved my life too many times. Humanity might be doomed without Jarn technology…” Toxic Donkey looked at Paula who had flowers growing out of her body. It didn’t seem like a pretty decoration, they seemed to sap Paula’s mana.

  “Whoa that’s brutal.”

“How long till the poison kicks in.” Yvonne asked as she pointed at Paul who was struggling to get up and slowly succumbing to poison.

  “20 seconds.”

“Ok.” Yvonne snapped her fingers and all the mana got sucked out of Paula and the pink and blue flowers bloomed, covering her in flowers, turning her into a flower pillar.

“It looks pretty, but it’s quite brutal…” The music stopped and Yvonne’s aura changed again.

  “A…are you alright?”

“Honestly, I don’t know what the deal is with you mythical beasts. I will live. Vinny blast that root!”

A large vine shot at the root and drilled a hole into it. The parts of the root that didn’t get hit started to slowly corrode due to some dark purple poison.

“Y…you can also use poison?” Yvonne asked as she loked at how Paul collapsed.

“Vinny taught me everything I know about poisons.”

“It seems I got to do something after all.” Vinny said as his vines finished tearing the root apart.

The scene changed moments later, and the party had been reunited. They found themselves on a large empty plain with pink clones staring them down. There was a clone for every boss, except for Molerock.
