The party looked around in confusion as they couldn’t see anything as the room had darkened. Io made a flame but its light got choked out.
“Oh no… not this! Jump on my back!” Vinny yelled as he turned into his dragon form. He took off after everyone had climbed on his back. “Io, can you make bright yellow flames without burning me?”
“Uhh I’ll try!”
“What is this about, Vinny, it’s just some darkness.” Toxic Donkey said, as he was wondering why Vinny seemed so on edge.
“Ask Giana if she can see through this darkness.”
Toxic Donkey tried to find Giana, but even though she was close he had problems seeing her as it was unusually dark. “Can you see anything?”
He saw a pair of glowing eyes moving to the side, suggesting that Giana shook her head and couldn’t see anything.
“So Agnis and I encountered a shadow Behemoth in a dungeon.” Vinny said as he evaded something.
“A shadow behemoth? And you two made it out alive?” Nobody saw it, but Noelle had raised an eyebrow.
“Well we got out by luck, so I have an important and serious question. Does any of you have milk on them?”
“Are you thirsty? I have some for you.” Giana took a cup of milk out of her dimensional pocket and held it forward.
“No… it seems that shadow behemoths can’t take milk, so would you be so kind to dump as much milk as possible in the abyss?”
“Uhh sure.” Giana bent over, opened her dimensional pocket and a large stream of white liquid poured out of her dimensional pocket, but it looked as if milk was streaming out of her cleavage.
Vinny flew up as he noticed a large [Shadow Tendril] flying at him. “I don’t want to complain, Io, but can you make it brighter? I can hardly see anything!”
“I’m trying!”
Vinny was showing off his aerial agility while making sure that nobody on his back would get flung off or inconvenienced. He remembered that evading these [Shadow Tendrils] used to be way harder. His experience in the Hurricane Path made evading quite easy. His only problem was that he couldn’t see well. He got grazed by several attacks. This would normally be a problem but he had a healer on his back.
“So, you always wanted to deal damage right, Giana? Do you know what’s stronger than milk according to Agnis?”
“More milk?”
“Boiled milk. If you could be so kind.”
Giana used foxfire to boil the milk and the darkness started to disappear. She stopped when a 4-meter-tall figure covered in black fog, holding a katana appeared. It was vomiting black fog and gave off an intimidating aura.
“Time for phase 2, but I won’t make the same mistake I did the last time. Yvonne, can you feed me nature energy?”
“S…sure.”
“Hold on everyone!” Vinny snacked on the pockets of nature energy Yvonne made while evading dark slashes. He recognized the stance the shadow behemoth took and made a sharp turn to evade a quickdraw. He found the right angle and used [Dragon Rush] while airborne.
He tanked some slashes headon and crashed into the shadow behemoth, sending it flying.
“It seems that still works.” Vinny said as he turned back to his human form and rubbed his forehead and noticed that he had a small cut on his forehead.
“Oh let me heal that for you! It might leave a scar!”
“Oh no don’t worry Giana. I will take this battle scar as a trophy.” He made his tail appear and showed the scar the previous shadow behemoth gave him. “I got this one from my previous encounter with one.”
Toxic Donkey shook his head. “All you mythical and tailed beasts are insane… but it has kept us alive. Now what’s next?”

The scene changed and everyone fell into the water.
“Ugh water again!” Io turned into her dragon form, fished Toxic Donkey out of the water and flew up. “Whoa what is that! That’s a big whale!”
Noelle stomped and elevated the ground for everyone to stand on. “Lil’ bro and his water… Wait, is that another ancient beast?”
“Oh my, it looks tough. I’m not sure how useful my mermaid form will be here.”
Io flew over the whale and Toxic Donkey was looking for weak spots. “Io, I think I need to use [Toxic Donkey], this thing is alive so it must be weak to poison. I don’t see it going down from fire attacks or anything else you guys are good at.”
“Will you be fine? You’re not used to fighting on the water, and this thing is an ancient beast!”
“I know but this was to be expected. We got warned that things would get brutal from here. We had the elemental trials; this must be the monster trial. I just hope that demi-god doesn’t fall under the monster category…”
“Please don’t die Kyle! I want you to become ancient!”
Toxic Donkey smiled. “Don’t worry Io. I’m not planning on dying. Can you ask Giana to be on standby to get ready to fish me out of the ocean? Make sure she keeps her distance because the water might carry my toxins around. And if I get blasted into the air for some reason, can you catch me?”
“Sure! Be careful and show this whale why you’re the strongest human!”
“Uhh, I won’t claim the title of strongest human, but I’d like to believe I’m up there.” Toxic Donkey jumped off Io and took out a special vial and poured it over his donkey suit which turned into a dark blue liquid but still keep its shape as his donkey suit.
“Let’s see how good [Toxic Donkey] works on an ancient beast.” Toxic Donkey’s shadow caught him, and the flesh of the Demon Whale sizzled as it turned into dark blue ash.
“Heh, I expected it to have some stupidly high poison resistances, but it seems to have none.” Toxic Donkey used [Shadow Split] and 7 of his shadows split off and started running around creating trails of dark blue ash which was slowly spreading through the back of the Demon Whale.
It started to thrash, but he timed his [Shadow bind] well so he didn’t get flung off.
Water rose up from the side of the whale and assaulted him, but they were inaccurate as the whale was targeting where it was feeling pain.
Toxic Donkey kept running around and using shadow magic left and right, increasing the poisoned area. He was unsure how long he had to keep this up to kill the whale, as it was enormous. The biggest threat to him currently was getting thrown into the ocean, as that would cancel his [Toxic Donkey]. He would probably also drown when that happens. He didn’t want Giana to get hit by the poison that would seep into the water, so he needed to ensure he didn’t fall off.
The liquid on his donkey suit had drained significantly and was halfway. He hoped he would be able to finish the whale off before all the donkey toxin would drain from his onesie. He got an idea and sent a [Shadow Tendril] to get to the whale’s mouth.
He slipped over the slippery blubbery skin of the whale but managed to [Shadow Bind] himself.
“Right no more messing around.” Toxic Donkey used [Shadow Spikes] and made the soles of his shoes spiky to prevent slipping. This would also inject the poison into the whale at every step.
The whale was thrashing wildly. Toxic Donkey realized that it was more of a huge punching bag up close. Fighting this thing from a distance would be a whole different story. He saw how his allies on the shore were battling against freak waves and long ranged water attacks. Large crystal walls were keeping his party safe. He looked up and saw Io circling above him.
The shadow tendril had reached the inside of the whale’s mouth, turning every shadow or dark spot inside the whale into a poisoned area. Toxic Donkey stopped running and took another vial and poured it over himself, as there was still enough toxin left to keep this form up for another 2 minutes. The vial canceled [Toxic Donkey] and Kyle relaxed.
He had already defeated the whale. It was just a matter of time before the poison would turn the whole whale into ash.
He launched himself up in the air with wind magic and Io caught him. “Haha take that stupid whale! Nobody can beat Kyle!”
“Uhh I think this dungeon has demonstrated that a lot of things can beat me, but I’ll take that compliment.”
The whale started to become loud and created bigger waves. Io and Toxic Donkey reunited with the rest of the party which were watching as the whale was trashing while its body slowly disintegrated into dark blue ash.
“So what did you do to it?” Noelle asked as she removed the crystal walls as the whale had stopped attacking them as it was fighting against the donkey toxin.
“I poisoned it.”
“It’s Kyle’s special poison! It poisons anything that touches him or his shadows, and it turns them into pretty sand!”
“I refuse to call it sand! It’s ash!”
“I don’t get what you and Agnis have against sand…”
“It gets everywhere… oh shit nooo this stupid beach! There’s sand in my suit!” Toxic Donkey lost his balance as he tried to get sand out of his onesie and stumbled to the side. A signpost fell out of the air and landed in front of him which read: Surprise! Beware of traps!
The ground beneath Toxic Donkey exploded moments later and sent him flying. “Stupid fox!”
