“I’m so going to kill that asshole when I get out! I don’t know yet how I will catch him bu…” Something crashed into Toxic Donkey and Yvonne and him crashed into a dune not too far.

  “S…sorry! I got hit by a trap too!”

  “Of course…”

  Giana hummed a calming tune and healed Yvonne and Toxic Donkey.

  The scene changed into a place they recognized.

  “I swear if he sent us back to the first floor, I’m going to lose it!” The sight of Boshi Town made Toxic Donkey flip his lid.

  “Ugh, I feel sick.” Giana said as she crouched down.

  The area shook and the party heard the sound of glass cracking.

  “That’s strange. That wasn’t an earthquake.” Noelle looked at her feet as the quakes continued.

  The sky ripped open and an enormous scorpion with 3 tails and countless eyes entered Boshi town, countless smaller version invaded with it.

  “Eww! What are those!” Noelle pointed and jumped on Vinny’s back.

  The small Things started to swarm the area and everyone looked at Vinny in his human form who was currently carrying Noelle on his back. He sighed and turned into his dragon form and the party followed Noelle’s example and jumped on his back. Vinny took off to the sky after confirming that everyone had made it to his back. “They’re everywhere! Io burn them!”

  Vinny’s back started to feel hot and noticed the mistake he had made. “Heyhey! Io not on my back!”

  “Oops, sorry!” Io jumped off, turned into her dragon form and started torching the small Things.

  “I’m unfamiliar with this nausea. I can’t get rid of it. It must be somehow related to those things.” Giana said as she wanted to sing but that was a bad idea with her nausea.

  “Is that also some of your poison?” Noelle pointed at the ground that got corroded by the Things.

  “Nope. I have no clue what these are nor how to fight these.” Toxic Donkey said as he was wondering how much other bullshit encounters they had to endure.

  Vinny used nature [Dragon Breath] which counteracted the corrosion and popped the Things out of existence.

  “Yvonne! These things are weak to nature energy!”

  Yvonne’s aura changed. “I’m going down.”

  Yvonne jumped down and went 4t mode. A mana wave went out and flowers started to grow everywhere in Boshi town. Dense air pockets got formed in the air and Yvonne jumped at an air pocket and kicked it with both her feet. The air pocket got filled with petals and shot at the big Thing, blasting a hole into one of its legs.

  Yvonne bounced around between the big flowers, using them as trampolines, and the air pockets. Some air pockets acted as footholds for her and others got kicked away and used as large air projectiles.

  The other flowers kept pulsing nature energy or sending blasts or waves of nature anergy around. Boshi Town turned into a flower paradise. Although a bit dangerous as beams of nature energy, deadly air pockets, fire and nature [Dragon Breaths] were flying around.

  Toxic Donkey looked at this all unfold. “I guess me showing off has already expired…”

  “Hold on tight!” Vinny said as he evaded a fast-moving scorpion tail lunging at them. He also started to get clad in nature energy.

  “Wait Vinny! You can’t possibly do that again!” Toxic Donkey grabbed on as Vinny made a large aerial maneuver and flew directly at the large Thing.

  “Why not? Yvonne! Can you send some nature energy my way?”

  Yvonne turned around and pointed her flower hand cannon at Vinny and shot a large blast at them.

  “You mythical and legendary beasts are crazy!”

  Vinny gulped up the nature energy blast and go clad in dark green energy.

  Noelle saw where this was going so, she secured herself, Giana and Toxic Donkey to Vinny’s back as he started his [Dragon Rush].

  Yvonne was gathering petals and readying up to match her attack with Vinny’s collision.

  The large Thing got blown to pieces by Vinny and Yvonne’s combined attack and the team landed as the scene changed again. They found themselves in darkness.

  “Wait shadow behemoth again? How many of those things did he fight?” Vinny had just turned into his human form and wanted to change back when a flash blinded them.

  “Eww! What in Hourai’s name is that!” Noelle pointed at a strange cloud that was making ticking and buzzing sounds. It had a dog snout and 2 large scythes. It ignored everyone and went for Giana.

  Noelle body-blocked the scythes closing in on Giana. Io used dragonfire but it went straight through the creature. Nature energy and wind attacks did nothing either. Toxic Donkeys daggers flew through it so poison was obviously also not possible.

  Giana started to sing and dance to buff Noelle.

  “This thing is strong!” Noelle stomped and sent a [Crystal Spike] through the creature but that didn’t do anything either.

  “Why is this thing so bright! My eyes hurt! Kyle do something!” Io said while covering her eyes and getting hit by a scythe. Io was a dragon so the scythe did no damage to her.

  “Huh? You’re asking the human? What am I supposed to do?”

  “I’ll give you something good if you do!” Toxic Donkey’s face got red and he [Shadow Bound] the creature. It screeched as it seemed to be in pain.

  “Huh? [Shadow Bind] isn’t supposed to do damage.”

  “Ooh! Kyle I love you! Of course! He’s bright so you beat him with darkness! Go my hero!” Toxic Donkey was unsure of what Io said was correct but it was worth trying. He used [Shadow Spike] and skewered the creature. It screeched, died and dissipated.

  “What the fuck was that? So, you’re screwed if you don’t know shadow magic? This isn’t good… is there an element that our party doesn’t cover?” Toxic Donkey asked, realizing that their team might not be able to cover every element.

  “Uhh, I can’t use illusions or spatiotemporal magic well and my water magic is weak… I also think we don’t have anyone that can use lightning…”

  “Uh oh… Agnis is a good lightning user… if we get a creature that’s only weak to lightning, we’re soo fucked. Can’t that fox lead an easier life?!” Toxic Donkey walked around with his hands in his head when he triggered another exploding trap and got sent flying. “I hate him!!!”

  “I will catch you!” Io ran toward him getting ready to turn into a dragon and catch him when she triggered a wire trap and got bound. “Huh?”

  “I..I will untangle you!” Yvonne triggered a launchpad and got launched into the air. “W…what?!”

  “These seem like fox pranks. Why are you smiling Giana?” Noelle said as she followed Yvonne with her eyes and then looked at Giana.

  “Oh nothing, can you come here for a bit?”

  Noelle cocked her head and walked over to Giana and triggered a trap. She got hit by a lot of sticky goo and got bound. “Giana!”

  “Haha! Sorry! I will get you out of that.” Giana hopped over something to get over to Noelle but triggered a wire trap and she got bound. “Oh, a trap to lure you into another one. How creative.”

  “Ugh, so who is going to get us out of these?” Noelle and Giana looked at Vinny.

  “Uhh, I don’t think that moving around is a good idea with all these traps.”

  “You can fly right?”

  “Ah right.” Vinny turned into a dragon and was about to fly over to the bound wolf and fox when a rabbit fell out of the sky and landed on Vinny. The dragon got knocked down to the floor and triggered another sticky trap, trapping both the rabbit and the dragon.

  “Uhh help?”

  “I hate sticky stuff! Is this how we’re going to lose? To traps?” Noelle was struggling, trying to get free. “Giana link me up! I’m going to need them to get rid of these!”

  Giana linked Noelle up who went 7t mode. Noelle analyzed the structure and components of the traps via Giana’s eyes and dismantled them with her 7t mode, which she canceled afterward.

  “Giana please, if you ever prank me, please no sticky traps.”

  Giana stuck out her tongue. “Where are Io and Kyle?”

  Giana’s question got answered as Toxic Donkey and Io came running as they were chased by a horde of monsters.

  The party reunited and swiftly dealt with the monsters. None of them were a threat but they were numerous.

  “These monsters seem like a trap too. Lulling us into a fake sense of security.” Toxic Donkey was getting paranoid and constantly scanned the area.

  The scene changed and the party was submerged again. The party was less surprised, the bubble got formed and Giana used her mermaid form.

  “What is it this time!? I feel so useless in water! Can you tell Agnis to stop being a water user and become a fire user?” Io complained.

  “Uhh you don’t want him to use fire because a country will disappear but this cave… is familiar.” Toxic Donkey threw a dagger and one shot a strange-looking piranha. “Right, it’s this encounter. Yvonne, can you make a large air bubble on the bottom? Giana can you slap anything that swims around into the bubble? I know how to deal with this.”

  The party followed Toxic Donkey’s instructions. Yvonne kept a large bubble and Noelle anchored it so it wouldn’t float up, giving them enough space to move around.

  The first piranha got slapped into the large bubble and it was dealt with. Toxic Donkey stepped on a pitfall trap but he could [Shadow Meld] out of it just in time. The bottom of the trap had spikes and would have certainly killed Toxic Donkey had he hadn't evded teh trap.

  “I hate this…”

  The party had more problems with the traps lying around. Toxic Donkey tried to remember the spots that already had their traps triggered but he discovered that logic didn’t apply in this dungeon so seemingly safe spots could still contain traps.

  The first frost trap got triggered by Io and all her mana got sucked up.

  “I feel weak… I need to sleep.” Io sat down and took a nap.

  “… Is this what he meant with things will get brutal?” Toxic Donkey kicked a shark monster away and threw a poisoned dagger at it, corroding its body.

  The only upside of those traps were that their enemies could also trigger them. a shark monster had triggered a frost trap which cascaded and froze a whole group of the monsters.

  Giana entered the bubble. “All the sharks and monsters have been…” Giana had triggered a sticky trap and was stuck. She was still in her mermaid form so she fell over. “Ouch”

  The trap disappeared as the scene changed after Yvonne defeated the last monster.

  “What horrific monster will we fight this time.” Toxic Donkey asked as eyes opened wide after laying his eyes on a cute creature. “Wow what is this cute monster?” He walked over to it and petted it.

  Vinny stretched out his arm, trying to warn Toxic Donkey. “Wait Kyle no! that’s Nilah!” All Toxic Donkey’s mana got stolen after the fur of the blue fox shimmered. Vinny had turned into his dragon form and swooped up Toxic Donkey who had all his mana drained and put him next to the sleeping Io. “Rest here Kyle. It seems things are indeed getting brutal.”

  Vinny and the idols stared down a single cute blue fox.

  “Giana… what is that? I have no idea what it’s made of…” Noelle had confidence in her ability to determine the structure and composition of most people, monsters, or objects but she couldn’t figure out what Nilah was made of.

  “I don’t know… I know it has been a great help to Agnis but that’s all I know.”

  “I can’t believe this, of everything this dungeon threw at us, a single cute blue fox is probably the most dangerous thing we’ve encountered.” Noelle complained as she curbed her urge to pet Nilah.

  Nilah started spinning her tails and used [Eternal Winter].

  “Uh oh!” Giana blocked the initial blast but all the mana got sucked out of it. Everyone’s feet were frozen to the ground and nobody was able to use mana now.

  “Giana you have some of his frost mana, right? How do we counter this?” Vinny said while attempting to eat the mana but it was too cold for hm to eat too much. He also suspected that it would freeze him from the inside.

  “We could oversaturate her with mana, theoretically.” Giana said with confidence.

  “And practically?”

  “Well, nothing stops her from spending that mana before can get that far. She doesn’t seem to be a real fox so I don’t know by what rules she plays. I’m sorry everyone but Nilah might kill us if we don’t get out of this.”

  Giana started to sing and broke everyone out of the frost. “Oh, I have an idea.”

  Vinny smacked some frost attacks with his tail and Noelle punched them.

  “What is it? Nilah doesn’t seem serious, better do something before she gets serious! And is that Agnis’ pure mana? Did he give that to you? Does he even know what that means?”

  Giana walked over to Nilah. “It is his mana yeah, I’m sure he doesn’t know what it means but I treasure it nonetheless. You could argue that Nilah is Agnis’ possession, right?”

  “Ohh yes! Go get her Giana! Vinny! Let’s get out of here!” Noelle caught on to Giana’s plan and walked toward Vinny.

  “Huh what?”

  Noelle grabbed Vinny and dragged him away. “Giana is going to use the element that works the best against Agnis.”

  Giana’s charm magic spiked and got sucked up by Nilah which slowly turned her pink.

  “Come here cutie!” Nilah jumped into Giana’s arms and Giana could fully blast Nilah with charm magic.

  Any traces of blue disappeared as Nilah turned pink.

  “Nilah, can you get rid of this frost area?”

  Nilah dropped the [Eternal Winter], but since she was technically defeated, she disappeared.

  “Noo! We could have used your help!” Giana said, a bit upset that she couldn’t pet her and use her to fight the rest of the dungeon.

  “Vinny snap out of it!” Noelle slapped Vinny who got charmed by Giana’s burst of charm magic.

  “Huh what? Somehow, I had to urge to tell you that you’re beautiful Giana.”

  “Thank you and sorry for that charm magic blast. It’s the only way I think we can defeat Nilah.”

  “So ehh Giana, do you think your charm magic also works on those?” Noelle said as she pointed at 7 triple clones.

  “Ehh… no… You can tank those right?”

  “Yes, but they hurt like hell! They also get very fast. If they decide to avoid me there is nothing I can do to them.”

  “Let’s tank them together then. Yvonne, drag Vinny a bit further and slap the residual charm magic out of him please.”

  Yvonne nodded and dragged Vinny away.
