Oriba arrives at Misaki-Owens Academy and goes to Nurse Mori’s office. Upon arriving he knocks on her office door. Nurse Mori quickly stands to her feet.

  “Good morning Ms. Mori I’m here to pick up my son Vergil.”

  “Yes sir he’s in the resting area. Please follow me.”

  Nurse Mori leaves the office with Oriba in tow. When they get to the resting area Oriba walks over to the bed and looks down at his son tearfully.

  “You said that he was possessed by a demon via mind control?”

  “Yes sir.”

  “If that’s true then it’s time for some demon extermination.”

  Nurse Mori look at him confused.

  “No disrespect Mr. Minami but you’re only a human.”

  “I don’t know if you believe in God Ms. Mori but He blesses those with special gifts to carry out his will and use them to glorify his name and serve justice accordingly.”

  “I do believe in God and I know that he is the only being capable of serving justice justly.”

  “That is absolutely true but when you submit yourself to him wholly he will use you in ways that you can’t even fathom.”

  Moments ter Famke enters the room. She is wearing a short-sleeve olive green dress and three-inch bck stilettos. Around her waist is a bck corset belt. Her hair is styled in a teased mullet. Her face is made up of powder, eye bck shadow, bck eyeliner and lip nude lipstick. In her ears are bck raindrop earrings.

  “Good morning Mrs. Minami.”

  “Yeah whatever. Oriba you don’t have to take my son home because I will.”

  “Ms. Mori called me first and I told her I would come so I will do it.” Oriba says picking up Vergil bridal style.

  “I said that I would take him home!” Famke says approaching.

  “What did I just say?!” Oriba asks sharply gring back at her.

  The first-aid cabinet doors swing open while the items on the sink float into the air. Famke looks at the cabinet and items before looking back into her husbands eyes. His sclera's are now blue with bck slits.

  Nurse Mori is wearing a look of utter fear. When Olivier looks at his son his eyes revert to normal. The cabinet doors close and the items return to their pce.

  “I didn’t mean to scare you Ms. Mori. My son and I will be on our way.” Oriba says before leaving.

  Famke is left staring at the wall.

  “Just what the hell is your husband?”

  “A super-human.” Famke says fearfully before leaving.

  Nurse Mori looks at the office entry before returning to her office.

  Kiseki’s Calculus paper is half full of equations. Lotus notices and writes a note. She folds it and passes it to Kiseki. He opens it up and reads it.

  ‘You can’t focus can you?’

  Kiseki looks at Lotus and observes her face. He then writes a response.

  ‘Not really. I can’t help but think about Ai’s brother. I think we should really start sticking together if demons are roaming about.’

  He passes it back to her. After reading it she responds and passes it back. Kiseki reads the response.

  ‘Absolutely. Plus we’re going to have to keep a close eye on Ai. I don’t think she trusts us after what happened this morning. Let Chishiki in our conversation.’

  Kiseki writes his response underneath.

  ‘I agree but it’s going to take all of us to get Ai to trust although I think I understand her reason for not trusting us. We just met and yet here we are attacking her brother. But if anyone doesn’t have any apologies it’s Yukanna.’

  He passes the paper back to Chishiki.

  After reading it from the beginning Chishiki writes his response under Kiseki’s.

  ‘I think we’ve bonded on some level I think Ai is the odd one out. After this morning’s incident we should definitely band together. With that said we need to find a private meeting pce and starting constructing a solid pn.’

  Upon finishing he passes the paper back to Kiseki who reads it. Kiseki writes his response.

  ‘That’s exactly what I was thinking. During lunch we can start brainstorming.’

  Kiseki passes the paper to Lotus. After reading their responses she looks between them and gives them two thumbs up.

  Ai is sitting at her desk with her chin in her left hand. She is gazing out of the window as the events from earlier repy in her head.

  ‘Kiseki protected me from my brother and he did it without hesitation. Could that mean he secretly has feelings for me? I mean I didn’t even thank him for protecting me. I owe him that much. Maybe at lunch that’ll be the perfect opportunity to apologize.’

  Oriba arrives home and carries Vergil upstairs to his bedroom. After removing his socks and shoes Oriba covers Vergil with his comforter and tucks him in.

  He then kneels at his bedside.

  “I don’t know what demon possessed you but I will find out and take them down. As for your sister, I don’t love her more, it’s just she was born different. That doesn’t make you any less important than her. Know that son. I love you and I always will. I’ll be here when you wake up.”

  Oriba kisses Vergil’s forehead and heads downstairs to the living room.

  Jodan is writing notes when his father floods his mind.

  ‘What the hell am I going to do about Dad? If he continues hurting me he will eventually kill me. I don’t want him to go to jail but I want the beating to stop.’

  Katsumi and Harmene arrive at Agarashi Castle’s moat. Robin is on the castle rooftop in her avian form. She looks down at the spiritual saint. When they lock eyes Katsumi senses she has no desire to battle. Katsumi then looks at the doors a few feet away. Instantly the chains start working and by the time she crosses the moat the doors are open.

  Feeling Rei’s spiritual essence Katsumi walks to the throne room. Her spiritual essence swing the doors open. Totsu Joo and Mizu are standing on the left side of the carpet and Suto and Kaen are standing on the other side. Lolita is on the throne standing beside Rei.

  Totsu Joo instantly enters the middle of the carpet.

  “My master didn’t send for you so why are you standing in his presence? There’s no way you defeated Robin.”

  “I sensed she had no desire to battle and as for your creator Rei, he didn’t send for me God did.”

  “Totsu show this lowly mortal how outcssed she really is.”

  Totsu Joo smirks as four tree branches sprout from her back. Katsumi watches as her sword appears in her right hand.

  “Totsu Joo the Asset Recovery Expert. The third of Rei’s seven creations. You are the proudest of the seven Hallow Phantoms.” Katsumi expins.

  “You got that right!” Totsu says as the tree branches rush toward the priestess guardian.

  Katsumi cuts them down and pnts her sword in the ground. Her bow and arrow appears in her hands and she points it at Rei. After firing the arrow tears Rei’s cloak and cuts into his right arm. Totsu runs toward Katsumi and is rebuked when Katsumi grabs her by the throat. Totsu is electrocuted and sent flying across the room near Rei’s throne. The smell of Rei’s blood causes Mizu, Kaen Suto and Totsu to heave and retreat via their powers. The priestess guardian then approaches Rei.

  Lolita instantly emits miasma from her mouth which Katsumi instantly purifies. Katsumi reaches out and pces her hand in the middle of Lolita’s chest. Purple electricity appears and pins her to the wall. Her wrists and ankles are bound and immediately falls unconscious.

  Rei looks at her worriedly before looking back at Katsumi growling gritting his teeth.

  “What did you do to her?”

  “I pced her in suspended animation. Our conversation is no one’s business or concern except ours. I wanted to make sure I had your absolute attention.”

  “I loathe your existence!”

  “That’s unfortunate because I don’t loathe yours. You created the Hallow Phantoms in order to feel loved and accepted didn’t you?”

  “The need for family?! Don’t make me ugh. The family I cherished left centuries ago. I created the Hallow Phantoms solely to do my bidding.”

  “You sound like God’s adversary, Lucifer before his descension from Heaven. You want mankind to feel inferior because you yourself are only half-demon and were frowned upon by full-blooded demons.”

  Rei draws his halberd.

  “You shut the hell up!” Rei cries charging towards her.

  Katsumi blocks his bde effortlessly before stopping it in mid-swing.

  “What reason could you possibly have for coming here?!”

  “To invite you to God’s kingdom so he can redeem and transform you.”

  Rei ughs.

  “I don’t find anything I just said amusing.”

  “I do. You think after four hundred years of atrocities that all of a sudden God wants me to join his legion of holy bliss army? I’m too far gone to be redeemed or saved. Besides I have more pressing issues to be worried about than where I will be spending my alleged eternity.”

  “That’s unfortunate because God opposes the proud and protects the humble.”

  “God opposes the proud but yet he can boast?! He’s supposed to lead by example if he expects righteousness to follow! And what the hell kind of supreme creator condemns his creations to hell when he gave them free will? The only reason he allowed mankind to fall was to boast about his power and to constantly remind us just how inferior we truly are. He doesn’t care about mankind, and he definitely doesn’t care about demon kind. I used to believe in him wholeheartedly centuries ago until-just leave my castle.”

  “I will and when God gives me the instruction I will be the one to purify you from existence.” Katsumi says before lifting her hand and directing it at Lolita.

  She releases her from her binds and she drops to the floor.

  “Just what the hell are you pnning?”

  “I’m not pnning anything. I’m going to let God deal with you.” Katsumi says before leaving.

  Lolita walks over to Rei’s throne watching Katsumi walk through the doors.

  “What are we going to do about her Master?”

  “You don’t have to do anything. I will be the one to take care of her. You are dismissed. Leave your mirror here with me.”

  “I understand sir.” Lolita says before leaving.

  Rika is downstairs in the dungeon. The walls are dark brown brick. There are six sets of shackles with a small barred window up above. The floor is cement and cold.

  Rika is leaning against the wall beside the entrance. Her eyes are closed,

  her arms are folded and her right leg is crossed. Her eyes are closed. She is torn from her thoughts when the dungeon door opens.

  “Hey Rika.”

  Rika opens her eyes and sees Suto standing before her.

  “Hey Suto what’s going on?”

  “I wish you could have seen it.”

  “Seen what?”

  “Totsu Joo being bested by this powerful woman.”

  “I felt her spiritual essence. That wasn’t just any powerful woman, that was Katsumi. She is a powerful guardian priestess who has centuries worth of experience in combat as well as demon purification and extermination. I wouldn’t be surprised if she spared Totsu Joo from nonexistence.”

  “If you ask me I think she needed to be humbled. She truly believes that Mizu is the one in need of humble pie.”

  “I don’t know why because she’s the most arrogant of us all.”

  “I agree and I must confess I hate that Master put you on dungeon duty. You should be out on the front lines with me.”

  “I think Rei wants Kiseki Ko to see a beautiful face when he awakens here on Saturday.”

  “I think you’re selling yourself short, you are devastatingly gorgeous. I believe he made the right decision by assigning you to this post.”

  Rika’s red cheeks are veiled by the darkness.

  “Thank you. You know I don’t bme Mizu for rebelling against him. Rei is a difficult being to serve. With that said I think Totsu is his favorite creation.”

  “What makes you think that?”

  “Her unyielding loyalty. The rest of us are expendable and don’t you ever forget that. Anyway don’t have too much fun Saturday.”

  “I’ll try my best. As far as being expendable is concerned I agree. Honestly I believe he would kill Totsu if it’ll help him reach his goal quicker. He’s self-serving, hell that’s the sole reason why he created us. He doesn’t want to do any hard work. All he wants is the fruit of someone else’s bor.”

  “Well I have my own goal in mind and besides I don’t want to spend my entire existence serving him.”

  “Whatever you decide to do always know that I will always be by your side”

  Rika hugs him which he happily returns.

  “Thank you for always being by my side Suto.”

  “Don’t mention it. Speaking of dungeon duty, why are you here if he isn’t here yet?”

  “I’m not. I just chose to come down here to clear me for a while. Now that I have we can go back upstairs.”

  Rika and Suto then leave the dungeon.

  The other Hallow Phantoms are in the conference room. Kaen is sitting against the wall. His right leg is bent with his right resting on his knee. Mizu and Totsu are sitting at the table. Totsu is catching her breath while Mizu is drinking some bck blood.

  “I never thought I’d see the day that Totsu Joo of the Hallow Phantoms would be bested.” Mizu teases.

  “I wasn’t bested I was just blindsided.”

  “Call it what you want but there were several witnesses there. Whoever that woman was is no joke. Hell I should know because she almost took my head off during our first encounter.”

  “What a joy that would have been had she annihited you. It would have made Master and the rest of us truly happy, especially me.”

  “As fucked up as Rei is I know he wouldn’t have allowed her to kill me.”

  “Were you not seeing the same thing I saw? His focus was solely on her and that woman clearly knows how to handle herself. Trust me you’re only still alive because she took her focus off of you. Since we’re being civil for a change how is that you have bck blood in that cup?”

  “I have my ways. I am one of the most resourceful members in this organization.”

  “Only Master knows the detailed process and ingredients needed to create bck blood.”

  “Who’s to say he wasn’t careful. Any one of us could have gone down to his boratory and saw him creating it.”

  “I will not allow you sit there and disrespect our benevolent creator!” Totsu admonishes standing up.

  Mizu also stands to her feet liquefying her hands.

  Kaen quickly erects six fire bars between them getting their attention.

  “Now is not the time for you to be at each other’s throats. Why can’t you two just get along?”

  “It’s because Totsu Joo thinks she’s above reproach!”

  Totsu Joo instantly swings her head gring at Mizu.

  “I’m not the one who ran away thinking I was above my comrades and her duties.”

  “I never thought I was above any of you or my responsibilities I just didn’t want to be controlled anymore.”

  “We have work to do and you two need to work together.”

  “Rei didn’t reassign me as her partner so I’ll be working solo.” Mizu says before leaving.

  Totsu Joo rolls her eyes before disappearing. Kaen shakes his head before being engulfed in fmes.

  Aki walks out of the front door and locks it with the spare under the welcome mat. She then heads down the driveway to the entrance gate. She hides behind the gate and morphs into a purple butterfly and ascends into the air.

  Lunchtime arrives and everyone is sitting at the table. Ai is looking over at Kiseki biting her lip. Mustering up the courage she leans over in his direction.

  “Hey Kiseki, can I talk to you in private?”

  “Sure.”

  “Guys, Ai and I will be right back.”

  The two get up and head outside into the hallway. They go to an unused cssroom.

  “So Ai, what do you want to talk about?”

  “I wanted to apologize for my behavior this morning. Even though I was rude and ran off my brother was still attacked nonetheless.”

  “I understand what you’re saying. I accept your apology for your behavior. However I will not apologize for protecting the group from him. It could gone way worse than it did.”

  Ai scoffs crossing her arms.

  “Well…thank you anyway!” Ai says before storming off.

  Kiseki stands there confused.

  “That was her apology? I’m going to talk to her about that on Saturday.”

  Kiseki then leaves the cssroom.

  Eiri enters the throne room and takes his human form.

  Lolita is standing on the throne beside Rei.

  “Eiri, what do you have to report?” Rei asks.

  “You’ll be eted to know that I’m inside the Senshi residence. The daughter of the house, Yukanna isn’t too trusting while her father Hiro is slowly warming up to me.”

  “Good, keep up the good work. Once you’re done with him I want you to create an alias and enter the friend group of my precious gemstones.”

  “Understood sir. May I have Kaen join me once I’m done with Hiro?”

  “I’ll leave that up to Kaen.”

  “Yes sir. Thank you for your time.” Eiri says before bowing and leaving.

  “Since we’re in August do you think this little battle on Saturday will be worth Yoroi’s Amulet?”

  “Why yes I do. If it can’t be created until winter I might as well entertain myself until that blessed moment. At that time I will destroy Katsumi once and for all.”
