The next step of their travel was quite climatic; as soon as they walked out, Elizabeth noticed a small difference, perhaps it was because now she was wearing the amulet? She could now see the undercurrent of Shadow Mana in the underground all going all over the pce.
She was half tempted to send someone to peek at where it went, but decided against it, not in a pce filled with Shadow users, some was bound to see her minions, perhaps she could use another element?
But she doubted there was another element that was as good in spying, or not from those that she had avaible, she would be tempted to use the Thunder element, but...
Those birbs weren't inspiring trust in her with their shenanigans. So she decided to not do that, not yet at least, perhaps she would attempt to form the next minion?
She had...Gluttony? that was the only one that she had linked quite yet, she had some idea of what to link it to, but wasn't sure it would make that much of a change.
Besides that she had Greed and Lust avaible...But no elemental gem to link them to.
What she wanted to link [Greed] and [Lust] to?
It was important to think that through, and she also needed to make pns for when she got Sloth. She had some ideas going through her head about that of course, and she...needed to think which one she was going to go for first. For now though, her current pns was to go with Space first.
She would throw any problem at Aura that way, then she could move to the other Sins. And perhaps get her inner world more stable; she wasn't sure if this would force her to follow in her parents' footsteps or not. She knew they had ascended for her; the fact that they managed to do it at a moment's notice meant that they could have done it so at any moment.
So that was her hope, that finishing this project would grant her power simir to the one they had wielded before their apotheosis, power that would help her make sure Rossie and Rena would be safe, that her loved ones would not be brought down.
Could she go and live a quiet life somewhere? Perhaps, but she wasn't sure, and even if she could, what would happen if she stagnated in power? She was ahead of her peers, that much was true. But was she at the peak of power?
A look at Jenna and Lily walking beside them said...No.
And would her cssmates remain the same? She hadn't seen much in them before, but that didn't mean they would always be below her. She was not that delusional; she couldn't guarantee that there weren't more people like the Student Council around. If she had a [Hero Party], what was stopping them from growing in power and coming to get her to join their side by more...rough methods.
What if someone came and tried to rip Rena or Rossie from her? What if... What if Akira's skill did trigger?
She doubted more would come from that, she had made sure to remove everything from Akira that she could, but even at this point she still wasn't sure what to make of his skill. He had cimed it to be a [Divine Skill], but she had managed to twist and stop it, and had managed to eat and internalize his [Sin].
She needed to invest more time in that; perhaps [Envy] could also be a good prospect to invest in, and she would try and work that out next.
For now though.
"What is our pn then?" Jenna asked as soon as she seemed to notice that Elizabeth's introspection had finished, just how one would expect from her childhood friend... or so.
"Go to the bank and see what we can find, if not we will follow the currents." Elizabeth said sighing and pulling out her phone, the map application was working and it had the route to the bank already set up. Probably Mordred or Reginald had tampered with it to show it for her.
Not that Elizabeth minded, it was convenient to have someone manage these kind of things for you after all.
"What do you mean the currents?" Jenna asked back, "Will you just stare at the wind for guidance or something?"
"Not those currents, I guess it could work to some degree, but no. There are better currents here to follow." Elizabeth said pointing down.
"The underground?" Jenna asked, still not getting it.
So Elizabeth turned to Lily to see if she could get it, if Jenna didn't then Lily should.
"....The....Mana....stream...?" Lily said answering.
"So we follow the shadows? But aren't they coming back to you Eli-Eli?" Rossie said from the side, "I mean, Shadows are your thing, right?"
Yes, Shadows were her thing, she had other things, but shadows were her main thing...at least for now, she did start to dip more into Thunder, and hadn't attempted to mesh her shadows with Divinity quite yet.
"They are my thing yes, but we are in a city enshrouded in shadows, one that I have no control over. The shadows here..." Elizabeth said, raising her hand and summoning an orb of shadows. "Look it for yourself,"
She said dropping it to the ground, the four girls stared at it and saw how the sphere dropped into the floor and...Nothing happened, Elizabeth had dropped it away from her Shadow.
"Nothing is happening?" Rena said kneeling besides it and poking it, as soon as her finger touched it, the Shadow sank into Rena's Shadow.
"Huh?" Rena said confused.
"My shadows have some standing orders. One of them guarantees that if one doesn't have anything to do, is that they must return home from the closest Shadow," Elizabeth said pointing at the stop she had dropped the shadow orb, "This usually means that they enter the closest shadow and open a portal back to the Shadow Haven."
"But that orb didn't?" Jenna said, "And it was in contact with some shadows."
That was true, it hadn't been for long, of course, but it had been in contact with some shadows from other people walking around and some shadows that had moved.
"The shadows here aren't empty; they have an owner, one who has a higher degree of authority over them than I do." Elizabeth said pointing around, "At least till Rena's shadow made contact with the orb, Rena's shadows is considered part of my Domain after all."
And that was that.
"...I see..." Rena said, blushing slightly, was....Oh right, Elizabeth never asked if that was fine did she? She only assumed that they wouldn't have an issue with it.
"Mine is too right Eli-Eli?" Rossie suddenly asked from the side.
"I mean....obviously...." Elizabeth said, turning to Rossie, "I can...maybe sort of isote them? Not that it would work that well since...you know...The apartment is how both of your shadows ended under my Domain."
"No, that is fine." Rena said shaking her head, "I'm happy with this. Besides, I was not using my Shadow for anything, if it helps you then I am happy."
"Same here, if anything I like it more this way, not like you are actively using the Shadows to spy in us." Rossie said, shrugging, "wish you did, but we know you. You aren't fun like that Eli-Eli."
Beg your pardon?
Elizabeth felt like she was being insulted for being a civil normal person somehow, surely that was...wrong right?
"You all are weird," Jenna said from the side.
"....all....Arch-wizards....are...." Lily added from the side.
But Elizabeth wasn't an Arch-something, she was at worst a Magical Girl. Not that she was doing very much Magical Girl-like things.
She may need to work on that, but not now. Right now, she was closer to acting as a Super Vilin after all.
"Anyway, this pce has some kind of currents in the shadows," Elizabeth said shaking her head and returning her thought process to the stuff that was currently relevant, such as what they were supposed to be doing right now. "So if we don't find anything at the bank, we can follow the shadow currents; I think we may find some Shadow Nodes and whatnot."
Elizabeth had those in her Shadow Haven, too, and to some degree, Terra Nexus had a few, even if they weren't all Shadow-based.
The node at the Thunder Birb Vilge was Thunder aligned for example, the same with the Fire Samanders, they had the Fire Node.
And then the Shadow Haven had the Shadow Node (Obviously), even if they were more advanced than the others with several sub nodes, set up across the shadow city. She needed to do something about those, not destroy them of course. They were there for stability...and she hadn't made them, so she was leery of moving them.
Also there was the fact about how they had been used to bring down the [Dragon Empress of Debauchery], that is to say, her prideful persona. So she wanted to leave them for Rossie and Rena.
Perhaps if the Valkyries grew more trusting of her...but she doubted those girls would ever trust her or anything she gave them. As far as her own Shadow Armada went, none of the girls had returned to the Shadow Haven. And Elizabeth knew that Mordred had actually set up Shadow Dragons to visually confirm this. Since the Valkyries could somehow evade the more esoteric means of vigince. That is to say, they didn't show up in their senses.
Clever girls....
"So...If we don't find anything, the pn is to spill some mana into the air and follow it?" Jenna asked after thinking all that Elizabeth had said, while Elizabeth was busy thinking of other things.
"No," Elizabeth said shaking her head, "We will follow the current shadow mana, this pce is filled to the brim with it, so all we need is to follow it and see what we find."
This was annoying in the sense that Elizabeth wanted to spread her senses, but doing so would mean cshing directly with however was monitoring the shadow mana around. And she didn't want to do that just yet.
She had been defeated before by another shadow user, even though they weren't as talented with Shadows as her, just by the fact of quantity being a quality of its own.
And Elizabeth didn't think that Echidna would be less talented than Shadow Pact.
If anything, the woman of Alice's memories was always strict in the way of shadow use, not that the girl was willing to part with what Echidna taught her in that alternate life.
Something about not applying to Elizabeth since she was also a genius. That was rude, Alice was her, they both were the same person! So if anything Alice should be as talented as Elizabeth, but that seemed to annoy Alice when Elizabeth attempted to bring it before.
So Elizabeth had stopped bringing it up, instead she would see how it went, it wouldn't be too te to annoy Alice with some comments...Speaking of.
"So...are you keeping that up?" Rossie said as they moved closer and closer to the bank. "That shift."
Elizabeth had yet to dismiss her Alice shift after all.
"I mean...it helps to set up the correct image," Elizabeth said doing a small twirl, she also enjoyed the fact that her back didn't hurt.
Not that it hurt before, her stats made sure that her assets wouldn't sag or hurt her anymore, but it was about the message!
"Also, I will speak as the persona I built here before. I checked before, and the data about it still exists." Elizabeth said pulling out a wallet from her [Garage], "See?"
From there, Elizabeth pulled out a library card, the one that she had made after bullying the librarian using her blonde form...She had made sure to send a shadow dragon to make one for her Alice persona too.
"Alice Ashcroft..." Rossie read and saw the picture; it was the same appearance even though there should have been almost three years of difference, "Shouldn't you change your shift a little? If it was a picture from three years ago."
"Not like one changes that much...I didn't in my other forms either," Elizabeth said shrugging, she did change...somewhat, not growing taller or anything, if anything her chest may have...grown...a little...
"That is true," Rossie said nodding, the girl hadn't changed, at all.
"Not everyone changes after all," Rena said nodding too. The girl who had changed the most of the three. Not that anyone would point that out, since her changes had been too abrupt, and brought out from the Lust from Akira.
From barely a C cup to almost an E cup was not a normal change in three years, but that was the magic of skills and mana...
"So my pn is to use this persona for now, I did use Shift to make sure it set up right so even if someone attempts to dispel it it wouldn't work," Elizabeth said shrugging, she doubted someone would attempt to do it, and since Zoe and the owner of the dinner didn't say anything, she guessed no one would notice.
She suspected that the owner had managed to peek just a little more than he would admit at her shadows, though, not that it mattered since the man was tied there.
"Okay..." Rossie said nodding.
"I can change it if you want, mix it a little with my other form..." Elizabeth said, turning to Rossie; she knew the girl liked big-breasted girls and blondes.
"No, it's fine." Rossie said shaking her head, "What I like is you Elizabeth, not the form you take or use."
That was sweet...
"Yeah, if anything, I find this one more soothing." Rena said taking Elizabeth's hand and hugging it from the side, "I like the smooth feeling you give in this form, and your red eyes are lovely."
....Did she call her ft?
Rude.
"That is true, these red eyes feel as if you want to eat me whole..." Rossie added from the side, "Perhaps...since this isn't your real form, you can accompany us tonight?"
"This is my real body," Elizabeth said before computing what Rossie had offered, "I...sorry what?"
"But I thought your real body was..." Rossie asked confused from the side, "Isn't this a [Shift]?"
"No, this is a Shift. My Unique skill doesn't create a new artificial body, unlike the shift spell or skill." Elizabeth said shaking her head, "I remake my body to fit my needs. This is as real as it gets, I bleed, get sick, hungry...This is my actual body."
"...but..." Rossie said, looking at Elizabeth's chest, "My hopes and dreams..."
....Rude.
Elizabeth was more than her chest, blonde hair and blue eyes.
"...It's fine, Eli. I will still love you no matter what happens to your body." Rena said from the side in a soothing voice.
...Elizabeth should be happy, right? At least one of her girlfriends didn't mind her turning ft...
But why did it hurt...why did she feel as if she had lost something important...
Elizabeth would....she couldn't do anything! If she used her Shift in Rossie or Rena to remove their assets or change their size, the one who would suffer the most would be Elizabeth!
She was screwd!
"Oh, would you look at that? We arrived at the bank!" Elizabeth said, pointing to the building where they had arrived, attempting to not think too much about her current defeat.
She knew both girls were messing with her, of course; she knew that Rossie and Rena loved her not merely for her body (It did help to be as good-looking and well-endowed as Elizabeth was, of course); she knew it...
But it still hurt dang it!
She also missed her breasts, god damnit!
