Chapter 180: Behold the Seven-Colored Radiance—!!

Chapter 180: Behold the Seven-Colored Radiance—!!

A wave of noise and commotion greeted him.

Alex lifted his head, looking at the bustling streets, the endless streams of cars, and the crowds of people moving all around. He let out a low whistle.

"Back to the city again, huh…?"

Muttering to himself, he turned his gaze toward the surroundings—tall buildings, streets, traffic lights. And on top of that, the unmistakably "culturally iconic" sailor uniforms and the smartphones in everyone’s hands—yep, modern-day Japan, an urban setting. At the very least, those three keywords were undeniable.

So, this must be some anime or game world.

With that thought, Alex reached into his pocket. Just like before, upon arriving in this world, he had received a completely new identity. However, that was all—no main quest, no mission prompts. It seemed that unless he could figure out what world he had entered, the Map of Myriad Dimensions wouldn’t actively assign him any objectives.

"What kind of world is this, exactly?"

Frowning, Alex carefully scanned his surroundings. Yet, he found no immediate answers. A modern Japanese urban setting could mean anything—from romance and slice-of-life to fantasy, supernatural, or even yuri-filled drama. And let’s not even get started on how many fantasy anime were set in modern-day Japan.

Honestly, he wasn’t too hopeful about recognizing the world right away. After working for so many years, he had long fallen into the habit of checking out a few new anime whenever he had time—if he had time. Otherwise, he’d just skim through some news headlines. Unless it was something as distinct as Higurashi, a world so unique it was impossible to forget after a single gnce, there was no guarantee he'd recognize anything immediately.

  But… whatever.

If this had been Alex at the beginning of his journey, finding himself in an unfamiliar, unrecognizable world might have made him anxious. But after surviving Higurashi, he had long since gotten over it. Go with the flow. No matter what world this was, no matter if he had seen it before or not, with his current strength, there was nowhere he couldn’t go. Even if danger arose, he had more than enough power to defend himself.

So, no need to overthink things.

The important thing was—it was time to roll the gacha!

That’s right. Alex hadn’t forgotten that this month’s gacha banner was Dungeon Event UP! He might not know which world he was in, but a single pull from the banner would tell him all he needed to know.

With that in mind, he didn’t hesitate any longer and quickened his pace.

  …

A short while ter, Alex arrived at a secluded park surrounded by trees. The setting sun cast long shadows over the ndscape. Most people were already heading home from work or school, leaving the park nearly empty.

After confirming that there were no unwanted eyes around, Alex raised his right hand and flipped open the Map of Myriad Dimensions.

Staring at the glowing book floating before him, he took a deep breath and—

“…I should take a bath first.”

Recalling his disastrous experience pulling Malthael st time, Alex immediately backed down.

A person had to be devout! Whether praying to gods or rolling gacha, proper rituals were necessary—cleansing oneself before seeking divine favor was the correct approach. This was a ten-pull gacha! He needed to prepare himself properly!

With that thought, Alex decisively altered his pns and turned toward his “home” in this world.

  …

In this world, Alex resided in a simple one-bedroom apartment. Nothing extravagant, nothing shabby—just a typical single-person residence fit for an ordinary working adult. His assigned identity was simir to what he had in Higurashi—a high school teacher.

Luckily, he hadn’t returned all his knowledge of physics and chemistry. Otherwise, he would have been in serious trouble right now.

  Click.

Switching on the lights, Alex gnced around the warmly lit room, a strange feeling of déjà vu settling in. It felt almost as if he had returned to his original world, coming home after a long day of work—turning on the TV to catch the news, having a drink, ordering takeout…

And, of course, the most important thing—he was always alone.

If only Ikaros had come along too…

The thought crossed his mind briefly but was quickly dismissed. He shook his head, shut the door, and headed into the bathroom.

Time to cleanse himself before summoning.

"Great heavens, celestial spirits, almighty divine beings—let this pull be a good one!"

After cleansing himself and changing into fresh clothes, the deep night had already fallen. Now, standing solemnly in his living room, Alex gazed at the floating Map of Myriad Dimensions before him.

With his hands pressed together in silent prayer, he took a deep breath. Then, he opened his eyes and reached out—

  Pressing the summon button.

  "Shua!!"

With his action, ten glowing spheres appeared instantly, spinning rapidly—this was the brilliance of a ten-pull summon!

  "Bang!"

  Enhancement stone. Next!

  "Bang!"

  Another enhancement stone. Next!

  "Bang!!"

  A charging stone… Keep going!

  "Bang! Bang! Bang!!!"

One after another, the glowing spheres shattered—but all he got were enhancement stones and charging stones.

When Alex finally lowered his hand, only one sphere remained before him.

Seriously? Is my luck this bad today?

He stared at the st remaining sphere, his face darkened. On his way home, he had even bought a new brand of body wash and soap for good luck—and this is what he gets?!

Even Malthael’s pull was better than this! At least that time, he got a little angel out of it. But this? Was this some kind of joke?!

Sigh… If this doesn’t work, I’ll just roll another ten-pull.

Resigned, Alex let out a deep sigh and reached for the st remaining sphere.

  "Bang!!"

  Suddenly—

The sphere began spinning, expanding—and then, it burst into a dazzling rainbow glow.

  "Wait… this is—?!"

His eyes widened in shock. Of course, he knew what this meant. But… was this real? Had his luck finally turned around?!

While Alex was still lost in disbelief, the sphere before him exploded in a brilliant fsh, revealing—

A Soul Stone, shimmering with radiant seven-colored light!

"Hahahaha!! A Fantasy-tier summon! The strongest Fantasy-tier!! I finally pulled a Fantasy-grade Soul Stone!!! Hahaha!!"

Alex threw his arms into the air, shouting in excitement. It had been way too difficult—way too difficult!

After all this time, after so many summons, he had finally pulled the highest-tier Fantasy-grade Soul Stone from the Map of Myriad Dimensions.

This was huge! Based on previous summoning results, this Soul Stone was definitely god-tier! This meant he finally had the power to stand against the true gods of the main world!

…Not that he had pnned on fighting them. But being prepared never hurt.

Alright, time to see what this Soul Stone is!

Excitedly, Alex reached out, grasping the shimmering Soul Stone.

  "Ding."

  But—

Just as his fingertips touched the Soul Stone, a notification suddenly echoed in his ears.

A line of text appeared before his eyes.

[Awakening Quest Triggered: The Slumbering Soul]

[A powerful and terrifying soul lies dormant in darkness. Only by finding the key elements to its awakening can it rise once more and become a force under your command. Seek out the necessary elements in this world to awaken the Soul Stone and break its seal.]

  [Awakening Elements: 0/3]

  "…………………"

  Alex’s smile froze.

  Are you kidding me?!
