Chapter 190: The Fatal Strike
The crimson fmes bzed brightly, illuminating the darkened space.
The next moment, the bde of fire swung forward, cshing against the tornado of existence.
"Boom—!"
This time, the massive barrier of Power of Existence finally failed to withstand the assault of the fmes, and a gap was forcibly torn open.
Seeing this, Alex’s eyes lit up. Without hesitation, he dashed forward, slipping through the opening.
Once inside the vortex, the sight before him left him stunned.
"You’ve got to be kidding me."
At the center of the tornado, Farigani had completely shed his former dashing appearance in a suit.
Perhaps from absorbing too much Power of Existence, his body had mutated.
Aside from his barely recognizable human-like head, the rest of his form now resembled a grotesque T-virus mutant, complete with eight monstrous arms.
Could this be his true form?
"Human, you dare seek your own death… then let me grant it to you!"
With an enraged roar, several mannequin-like figures materialized at Farigani’s side, each wielding sharp bdes as they lunged toward Alex.
"Cng!"
Damn it, this is trouble!
Blocking the attack, Alex’s heart sank.
He hadn’t expected these mannequins to grow stronger after absorbing Power of Existence.
Before, they were weaklings he could easily dispatch, but now, they posed a real challenge.
Though they were still no match for him, the dey alone put him in serious danger in this situation.
With the overwhelming energy at his disposal, Farigani was continuously creating more and more of these mannequins, forming an army to stall Alex.
No choice—I have to risk it!
Seeing the gap in the fmes starting to close, Alex gritted his teeth.
His gaze hardened as he flipped his Void Bde downward, stabbing it into the ground.
A moment ter, the earth around him cracked open, and an eruption of holy white fmes burst forth like a volcanic explosion, forcing back the approaching mannequins.
Now’s my chance!
With the enemy formation momentarily disrupted, Alex focused his mind.
He swiftly pulled his sword from the ground and lunged forward.
In a single motion, he sshed through a Rinne standing in his way, cutting it cleanly in two.
"Your struggles are meaningless!"
Farigani’s hands never stopped moving.
It was unclear whether he possessed a relic that allowed him to create warriors, but his eight grotesque arms wove patterns in the air like a puppeteer.
From the shimmering glow of Power of Existence, new mannequins continuously emerged, joining the battle.
But for Alex, this was enough.
He raised his Void Bde once more.
As he moved, the sword radiated an even more dazzling holy light.
In response, countless bdes of light materialized in the air around him, forming ranks like soldiers awaiting their general’s command.
With a single order, they would charge forward, tearing apart all obstacles in their path.
Holy Storm!
"Boom—!"
Alex swung his sword forward.
The countless light bdes roared like a raging hurricane, tearing through the advancing mannequins.
They shredded everything in their path like an unstoppable meat grinder.
The relentless tide of energy surged toward Farigani.
Seeing the incoming storm of destruction, Farigani’s face darkened.
He quickly raised his arms, summoning another barrier of Power of Existence to block the incoming attack.
With a deafening impact, the radiant storm smmed into the barrier.
Countless bdes of light pounded against the defense like torrential rain.
Each strike cracked the surface, and eventually, with a final shatter, the barrier colpsed.
At the same time, the Holy Storm’s energy reached its limit and dissipated, leaving behind a deep fissure in the ground—a scar marking the aftermath of its power.
"Hah…"
Farigani exhaled, relief washing over him.
He had never expected this human to be so powerful—capable of breaking through his defense in just one strike.
But that was all.
Now that he had withstood the attack, he just needed to regroup, and this human would never get another chance…
With that thought, Farigani looked up.
Then, his eyes widened in shock.
The human was still standing there, staring through the opening.
What truly terrified Farigani, however, was the expression on Alex’s face.
There was no despair.
No frustration.
Instead, Alex’s lips curled into a smirk—one of pure confidence.
At that moment, Farigani finally noticed a nearly invisible dark beam shooting from the human’s fingertip, heading straight toward him.
Not good!!
Farigani had no idea what it was, but his instincts screamed danger.
Without thinking, he raised his arms to shield himself, trying to block the sudden attack.
However, to his surprise, the beam silently penetrated his body without causing any immediate damage.
It didn’t bring a devastating impact or any unbearable pain.
Instead, it seemed as harmless as a gentle breeze… like an innocent little rabbit.
"Ugh!!"
But in the very next moment, Farigani’s face twisted in horror.
As soon as the beam entered his body, he felt as if he had been thrown onto a violently rocking ship in the middle of a stormy sea.
His very existence was being ruthlessly stripped away.
It was as if a giant, invisible hand had grabbed hold of his essence and was forcefully ripping it out of his body, casting him away.
How is this possible?!
Farigani’s expression turned deathly pale.
He knew exactly what was happening.
Every Crimson Denizen understood the meaning of this.
Crimson Denizens ultimately originated from the Crimson Realm.
In order to exist in this world, they had to continuously devour Power of Existence to maintain their physical form.
If they were ever sin in this world—or if their Power of Existence was completely drained—they would be forcibly ejected, sent back to the Crimson Realm.
That was why Crimson Denizens constantly devoured Power of Existence.
Without it, they had no means of survival here.
Likewise, even when Fme Haze hunted them, they needed to completely kill a Denizen to send them back.
Only at the moment of death did a Crimson Denizen lose control over their existence in this world and get banished.
But this man…
He had bypassed all of that and was forcefully expelling him from this world?!
"No…!!"
Farigani struggled frantically, using every ounce of his strength to resist, desperately trying to recim control and stay in this world.
But the instant Alex activated his banishment, the existence known as "Farigani" had already been hollowed out.
With its core lost, City Devour colpsed entirely.
The overwhelming Power of Existence began to break apart.
Farigani’s mutated body, swollen from excessive devouring, also started disintegrating.
As he finally broke free from the force pulling him away, all he could see was an endless cascade of pure white light, falling like snow.
"No——!!"
He reached out in despair, trying to grasp the scattering remnants of Power of Existence.
But in the next instant, the Void Bde pierced his chest, bringing his existence to an end.
"It's finally over…"
Alex exhaled, gazing down at Farigani’s burning corpse.
Then, he looked at his own hand.
"As expected… a Level 5 spell still isn't quite enough for dealing with Crimson Denizens."
The technique Alex had used to banish Farigani was the Level 5 abjuration spell Dismissal.
A powerful spell designed specifically for forcibly returning extrapnar creatures to their home realms.
It was a mage’s best weapon against summoned entities.
Of course, creatures summoned through the Dimensional Codex weren’t affected.
That was why Alex had confirmed with Astor earlier—since Crimson Denizens were beings from another pne, they should be susceptible to forced expulsion.
And they were.
However, Dismissal wasn’t quite strong enough against a Crimson Lord.
If he had used Banishment, a Level 7 spell…
Farigani might have been instantly erased.
Looks like I need to step up my magic training when I get back.
With that thought, Alex turned his gaze toward the sky.
This battle… was finally over.
