  Xylus jumped backwards, releasing [Dark Spikes] at the enemy. A bunch of spikes flew towards the goblins, instantly killing four of them while the rest used them as meat shields.

  "Argh, information dump!" Xylus grunted as he dodged to the side as a goblin slammed the club down. He quickly slashed the throat and pierced the heart of the goblin, pulling the dagger out without hesitation.

  "System, can you not flood my eyes with information right now? I'm kinda in the middle of something! Darkness Slash!" Xylus slashed four more Darkness Slashes out and watched them instantly kill four goblins.

  Xylus' eyes darted around. Three bigger goblins were blocking the way for the rest of the goblins. He could hear screaming as he continued to move backwards. He really wished he had his bow. It would make this so much easier.

  "What is it?" Xylus asked, frustrated.

  [Advanced a Spell to level 2!

  Arrows sailed straight for him. Xylus pulled his hand upwards, bending the Darkness to his will and creating a wall. The arrows sunk into the darkness, slowly moving through it as he turned and ran back through the stone path.

  The water churned and a loud roar noise shot out from the water. Four fish humanoids jumped out of the water and screamed as they raised their spears.

  "Darkness Slash!" Xylus slashed the fish monsters and watched them easily cut in half with one strike.

  'They weren't even a problem. Maybe that's why they didn't attack me.' Xylus thought as he listened to their bodies hit the water as he ran by. The three large goblins broke through the Darkness wall Xylus had created.

  Xylus pressed forward, slipping as he scrambled to the other side.

  "Is there a way to sever this?" Xylus asked. He glanced around, noticing there were many stalactites above the stone pathway. Two large Dark Spikes flew at the stalactites causing them to break and fall.

  He watched as the goblins started to be impaled with the stalactites. The sharp rocks shattered in the rock path, sunk into the waters or pierced the goblins. Bodies of goblins started to pile on the pathway, falling into the waters as Xylus watched.

  The goblins had been reduced to nothing in a matter of seconds. Even the large goblins couldn't stand against a direct stalactite going through their entired body. Xylus let out a sigh of relief watching as the chaos quickly died down.

  "Is that it?" Xylus asked. Silence washed over the entire area. He didn't think he'd be glad to be able to hear nothing, again.

  Boom! Boom! Boom!

  "GRAAAHHHH!" A bellowing cry came from within the tunnel chambers. Xylus could hear the squishing of blood and guts as this large creature moved forward.

  [Emergency Quest! Kill the Hobgoblin!

  Reward: "Goblin Killer" Title, 1000 XP, 1 Skill Point!]

  "An emergency quest?" Xylus gulped. "What the hell is a hobgoblin?" A tall goblin stepped out of the tunnel. Xylus saw a tall green humanoid creature about an adult's height watching him with an angry stare.

  Its sharp teeth poked out from its underbite. Its eyes burned fear into Xylus as he took a step back. The Hobgoblin wore leather armor, leather helmet and leather boots. Two short swords were strapped along it's sides. It reached and pulled the swords out and screamed. The Hobgoblin rushed forward, swiping the dead bodies in its path as it rushed forward.

  "Oh gods no!" Xylus shouted. His body was frozen in fear. He screamed for himself to move as the hobgoblin slashed downwards at him. "Move, dammit!" Xylus shouted as his body let up and he rolled to the right. The short sword slammed into the ground as the hobgoblin swung his other sword as Xylus.

  The attack connected with Xylus' back, sending him forward as he grunted in pain.

  The Hobgoblin marched forward and raised its short swords. It was gonna pierce him.

  "Ah, dammit!" Xylus shouted as he turned to watch the swords raise up. "Dark Spike Barrage!"

  Huge spikes flew up and impaled the Hobgoblin. Xylus watched as blood spilled and the hobgoblin's body shook as it took the full direct hit of the attack.

  Xylus forced himself up as the Barrage ended. He ran forward and jumped, sinking his daggers into its chest as it howled in pain.

  "AHHHHHHH!" Xylus screamed, twisting the daggers as the hobgoblin swatted him off of him.

  Xylus went bouncing on the rough cavern floor, slamming into a stalagmite. The air in his lungs rushed out, vision blurring.

  "Gra ane!" The Hobgoblin shouted a sit stumbled backwards. Blood spilled out of it's many wounds and mouth as it tried to pull Shadowbane out of him. One Shadowbane clattered off to the right as the other one bounced over towards the water, slowly coming to a stop halfway off the stone ground.

  Xylus gasped for air as he listened to the hobgoblin slowly move over to him. It gripped the short swords in its hands. It was gonna kill him.

  "Xavier…!" A familiar yet foreign voice quietly echoed. "Xavier…! Xavier…! XYLUS!"

  Xylus gasped for air, vision unblurring as he saw the hobgoblin going for the kill. Xylus quickly slid onto his back, the stalagmite cutting in half. Xylus quickly rolled to the side, pushing himself up and darting away as the hobgoblin landed a strike where he was.

  "Where's my daggers?" Xylus asked. Out of the corner of his eyes, to his right, one part of Shadowbane glinted. The hobgoblin's rushed after him. Xylus swooped and grabbed the dagger, feeling it's connection. He turned and flipped, dodging a horizontal strike. Xylus landed and rushed slashes at the hobgoblin's chest.

  "Argh!" The Hobgoblin screeched. It swung a punch at Xylus, who ducked and darted off to the left. Xylus knew his advantage was being smaller and faster than the hobgoblin. It may have only been an adult's height, but it had precision and master of its weapon over Xylus.

  "Don't take any chances you know you can't get." Xylus reminded himself with Victor's words. The Hobgoblin rushed forward and barraged him with attacks. It was getting desperate. Xylus dodged the first few attacks, meeting the hobgoblin's knee. Xylus flew outwards, as the hobgoblin rushed its elbow straight into his back.

  "Ack!"

  Xylus slammed into the ground as the hobgoblin raised its swords to deliver the final blow.

  Xylus could feel energy rush into his body.

  Xylus could feel the speed in his body increase. The shadows pulled him backwards, avoiding the strike as it sparked in the stone. Xylus crouched as he held Shadowbane in his left hand. His eyes burned with red as he felt the energy crescendoing to its peak.

  "Shadow Rush!" Xylus screamed. He rushed forward, shadows pulling around him and the blade as he slammed Shadowbane into the hobgoblin's chest. The Hobgoblin let out a breath as the image of its shadow pushed past him. Xylus fell with the hobgoblin, landing on the hobgoblin in a crouched position as he twisted the dagger in the hobgoblin's chest. He had successfully pierced the heart.

  A burning sensation flared on Xylus' left pec and shoulder. He screamed in pain. The fight with the goblins and Hobgoblin took a huge toll on him. His vision blurred and his body became weak.

  'Oh… crap.' Xylus' body rolled off the hobgoblin, hitting the floor.
