Chapter 29

As Freya shifted closer, the soft swell of her breast brushed against Myra’s side. The cool touch, initially a stark reminder of Freya’s non-living state, now sent a different kind of shiver through Myra's body. It was a subtle contact, yet it sparked a surprising heat within her, a warmth that had little to do with physical temperature.

A soft gasp escaped Myra’s lips, her earlier trembling beginning to subside, repced by a different kind of tremor. Her breathing grew shallow and rapid once more, a familiar stirring awakening within her despite the lingering chill. The tingling sensation, which the cold bath had briefly quelled, began to resurface, now focused in a different, more intimate way.

“I… I don’t think I can… hold it,” Myra murmured, her voice thick with a burgeoning arousal that surprised even herself. The initial coldness seemed to be receding rapidly, repced by an internal heat that was quickly becoming overwhelming. Her cheeks flushed anew, and her gaze, though still slightly dazed, held a newfound intensity as she looked at Freya.

“Or…” she breathed, a hint of breathless wonder in her tone, “is the tea… really that strong?” The question hung in the air, a mixture of genuine inquiry and a dawning realization that the strange sensations she was experiencing were perhaps not solely due to the lingering effects of the earlier herbal concoction. The proximity of Freya, the unintentional intimacy, was clearly pying a significant role in the unexpected and rapidly escating arousal.

A knowing smile pyed on Freya’s lips as she observed the subtle shift in Myra’s demeanor. The rapid breathing, the flushed cheeks, the return of that unfocused intensity in her eyes – the signs were unmistakable, even to someone who had long distanced herself from the intricacies of mortal desires.

“The tea may have pyed a small part, perhaps,” Freya purred, her voice a low, resonant hum that seemed to vibrate through the very air around them. “It was designed to… heighten certain sensations, though perhaps not quite these.” Her gaze flickered down to where their bodies were in contact, a hint of amusement dancing in her crimson eyes.

“However, Myra,” Freya continued, her voice dropping to a more intimate whisper, “I suspect the sudden warmth you are experiencing has less to do with the lingering effects of herbs and more to do with… proximity. With touch. With the undeniable and often unpredictable nature of human… reactions.” She reached out a cool hand, her slender fingers lightly tracing the curve of Myra’s flushed cheek. “Tell me, Myra, is this warmth truly unwelcome?”
