~~Fshback~~
Four months ago, a burly man arrived at the Inscription Association, looking around. He seemed very suspicious to Jason. Making sure that Jason was all alohe big guy approached Jason at the desk.
"Are you... Nie Li?" He asked, his face quite intimidating.
Jason nodded his head. "Yep. What do you want? If you're here to cause trouble then you should better think twice."
Jason noticed the man’s face twitch slightly before he spoke, his tone serious. “I have an important question to ask you.”
“Oh? What is it?” Jason raised an eyebrow, curious.
The man gnced around, ensuring no one was within earshot. Then, leaning in, he lowered his voice. “What did you do to my daughter?”
Jason blinked, fused. “Your daughter? Hold on—who are you? And since when did I meet your daughter?”
The man frowned, his expression a mix of frustration and disbelief. “Don’t py dumb. About a month ago, she came here to buy some scrolls. Ever sihat day, her behavior has pletely ged. She used to be... well, let’s just say she was a bit of a handful—flirting, causing trouble, and stirring up chaos. Now, she barely leaves the house. She’s focused on her cultivation, and half the time, she’s sitting there smiling to herself like she’s lost in thought. It’s baffling. What did you say to her?”
"Are you serious? And who is your daughter?" Jason took a deep breath to calm down his anger and asked. 'Your daughter has a mental problem a you e here saying that I did something...'
The man ughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his head. "Hahaha, I fot to introduce myself. My name is Huyan Xiong and I'm the patriarch of the Huyan family."
"Huyan?... Ah!..." Jason found the surname familiar and remembered it, pointing at him. "So, you're Huyan Lanruo's father. Just seriously man, how did you educate her? Are you really her father? You've spoiled her rotten. You should have to be strict with her."
Staring at the patriarch of the Huyan family, he said. "You should thank me for doing your job. She messed with me so I just spanked her a little."
"Y-You... spanker her?" Huyan Xiong was bemused.
Jason nodded his head. "Why not? Someone has to teach her a lesson."
"Thank you!" Huyan Xiong jumped up and grabbed his hands, his expression very grateful.
Huh?
Jason was taken aback by his sudden outburst, looking at Huyan Xiong in shock. He could have uood if he had shed out and even raised his hand at him for the sake of his daughter but he was... actually thanking him instead.
'Did he have a screw loss in his head?... Or the entire Huyan family are just made up of idiots? Well, looking at the top members, it seems to be the case.'
Huyan Xiong almost cried. Looking at the young man in front, he said. "Young man, you don't know how grateful I am as a father."
'Grateful? Are you for real? I spanked your daughter. It is akin to molestation a yrateful.'
Looking at Jason's expression, he tinued. "You don't how difficult it was for me to trol her. I lost my wife quite early and so I spoiled my only child. But who would have thought, it would let her astray? Aside from messing around, she literally just causes me headaches..."
Sighing heavily, he said. "But now there is you. I'll leave my daughter to you. Please help me make her right."
"What do you mean 'make her right'? Do you have some mind problem? I literally spanked your daughter and that's what you have to say!" Jason was amused with the situation unfolding like that.
"Hahaha... well, you're young. Every young man has some weird tastes. I've other things to do, if you're free then e to drink with me sometime." Huyan Xiong ughed awkwardly and made a hasty retreat, almost running away.
"Hey, wait!... He's gone." Jason was in a daze, his face twitg. 'Why do I feel like he dumped his troubles on me? Fuck!'
Outside
"Aren't you taking advantage of the situation?" Just as Huyan Xiong came out, he was greeted by his best friend, Ye Zong.
“Hahaha… where do you see me taking advantage of the situation, my friend? It’s just called strategy.” Huyan Xiong chuckled.
“When you first told me about him, I holy thought he was just an arrogant brat with a bit of good fortune who hadn’t matured yet. But after him, I’ve realized he’s not that simple. He may appear cold and strict, but it’s clear he genuinely cares for others. He has an uny ability to read people and addresses things directly, without beating around the bush. Unlike most youhese days who are all talk and no substance, he’s grounded yet fident.
“He doesn’t just act arrogant—it’s a part of him, as natural as breathing. That self-assured aura of his belongs to someone aced to standing above others, like a natural leader or emperor. The more I see him, the more vinced I am that he would make an ideal maty daughter. She could use someone like him to bance her out.”
Ye Zong chuckled knowingly, shaking his head. “Are you really talking about your daughter like that? You might be the only man who openly admits she’s a handful.”
Looking at Jason still cursing at Huyan Xiong, he asked. "Do you really see him so highly?"
"Of course. Not even 13 and already at the Legend rank. Iirety of the Glory City's history, something like this never happened." Huyan Xiong ughed. "And I know you well enough, my friend. You must have also the same idea as me or else you'll have never left your precious daughter in his care with how strict he is with her."
Ye Zong stared at Jason and smiled. "Yeah, you're right... But the you making things difficult for your friend?"
Huyan Xiong chuckled. "Hmph! You 't be like that. With his uure and natural charisma, he is bound to attract attention. A hero's nature, you 't do anything about it."
Ye Zong sighed, pletely defeated by his friend's argument.
"Oh yes, Ye Zong. you ask young master Nie Li to give me some advice too?" Huyan Xiong ged the topid asked.
"I only try." Ye Zong released a sigh and smiled.

"Boss, where are you lost?"
Jason was thinking about something when Huyan Lanru into his view, waving at him with a smile.
After Huyan Xiong's visit, she started paying visits very often, almost pissing him off. And it didn't even matter what he said, she just didn't seem to care.
Finally resig his fate to uo defeat the young woman in front of him, he could only appoint her as an assistant at the Inscription Association with him. With how Xue Yin rarely came and other stuff, he needed a helping hand anyway. And with her here, he could both keep an eye on her and promote the business.
After all, many of the young men in the Glory City were her die-hard fans, chasing her skirt, they were bound to e to the association for her and in the process had to give orders.
