Chapter: 2
May the broken Vessel rise once more
Caleb’s vision was black, like he was plunged into an abyss of unending of darkness, he could still feel his body but not physically he mumbled to himself, but his lips didn’t feel like they were moving.
“Is this the afterlife just floating in never ending nothingness?”
The mysterious screen from before nowhere to be seen. But before he could continue the though a sudden sensation hit him like the truck. It was as if he was forced in a tight cramped space. Caleb screamed in agony as he felt his body…no his soul being compressed into a tight space like a hydraulic press. It only got worse as time dragged on what would have been seconds felt like minutes to him. His soul was being violently stuffed in a body that was not his. Caleb wasn’t sure if this was just a bad joke or some sort of penance, he had to endure for the acts he had done, for the countless lives he had taken. He had endured much in his lifetime getting hot, stitching his wounds but nothing came close not this. Counting seconds was impossible if you felt like a sardine getting forced in a can, while also getting all your bones broken. Right as he felt like he was about to go insane he got blinded by a sudden burning fire in the middle of his vision. It expanded until surrounding him, pulling him in its warm embrace freeing him of this torture.
The first thing Caleb felt was the weight on his body and mind, only after a few moments he gained vision once again. He saw an old, dilapidated throne room Infront of him. Old banners who long lost their color, broken windows adorning the high ceiling. A cold breeze of wind the only audible sound here, a now grey carpet leading up to the throne he was sitting on. Wait a throne?! Checking again he was dumbfounded. Indeed, he sat on a golden throne crowned with jewels and fine silk. Caleb’s confusion only grew as he looked at his body. He wore dark, kind off similar to he one of a knight or gladiator, it was well crafted even a blind person would notice that the slightly rusted joints creaked as Caleb’s head moved. Beginning to panic Caleb stood up but fell immediately *Clank* the heavy sound echoed in the room. Caleb felt no pain nor the cold steel of the armor only the weight. He tried to voice his confusion but only an inhuman screech made it out from his body.

Caleb: “WWaeeeeghhg?”
Was he even Human?
This questioned filled up his mind as tried to comprehend everything that happened to him. Trying again to stand up he fell again he had barely control over this new body, it felt as if his imaginary muscles didn’t want to obey his command. He crawled over the faded carped to a broken piece of glass he spotted earlier. He clumsily took the piece of glass in his hand cracking it slightly. As he gazed at the reflection of his face, he paled...if he could. Behind his Visor one could see a rotten human corpse, bone peeking out from multiple spots. Instead of eyes were hollow pits with a faint flickering of a flame in them. Laying there shocked he tried to accept his now undead existence, with more questions racking up by the second.
Why me? Where am I? What am I? What was that message?
All of those and much more threatened to burst out from his head with no answers in sight
*Crieeek* his armor protested as he slowly got on all fours leaning before standing up holding onto a support beam for well…support. Once he lowly adjusted to his new surroundings and body. Caleb made his way back to his throne with weak steps his metal armor scraping against the floor made of old dusty bricks. *clank* once he let himself fall on the throne, he got lost in thought again he needed to think to stay calm, to understand, to adapt and play this out to his advantage. Recalling his last moments he remembered the message. What did it read? System yeah something like that. As he said the word System in his mind the strange screen popped up again, what stood there made him even more confused.
“Huh”
