Ningetsu was holding her own against Dough.
They had been exchanging blows for about 5 minutes. Neither let the other side gain leeway.
The plan had been momentarily halted due to Dough being too far from the tree her father was on.
She did her best not to look in his direction while trying to keep track of where the tree was so she wouldn’t lose it.
She didn’t want Dough to realize what they were intending to do.
He may be ignorant, but she could tell he wasn't dumb.
Throughout this fight, he had been slowly adapting to her attacks, leaving her to fight with different weapons, but even then, she adapted to each weapon she used, leaving her with only an axe and a dagger as her last weapons to use.
She trained every day to fight a skilled warrior by training with adventurers and offering them high-quality weapons as payment, but even with that training, she still couldn't defeat Dough, who was leagues above all the adventurers she faced.
Compared to Dough, everyone she fought seemed like an inexperienced beginner fighter.
Dough also was suspicious of Ningetsu.
He was nearly done with getting past all her defenses and yet he found something off.
The fact that she was fighting him alone already raised flags for him.
While he was fine with it since he could eat her, at the same time, why would Dulward leave his daughter to fight him?
The old man clearly wanted to end his life, and he knew that, but he left him in the hands of his daughter.
It didn’t add up, but he brushed it off, assuming that Dough possibly left to gain a new weapon or more power, but the thought was also tossed out the window, he barricaded all sides, preventing escape.
Dulward looked down at the fight, sweating profusely.
Not only from the fact he climbed a tall tree but also from the fact his daughter was fighting against the same creature that had taken his other family and daughter.
He would have rather been the one to fight Dough head on, but he understood why she chose him.
He had much more fat to him compared to Ningetsu, thus allowing for much more momentum compared to if Ningetsu jumped down.
But even with that information, he could only pray that his daughter could bring him close enough so they could deliver the final blow.
Dough has had enough, feeling this fight has been boring, and decides he will increase the pressure.
Ningetsu had that same thought and had executed it first.
She began throwing different large weapons at him and he parried them all, his arms transformed into stone.
During the fight, she noticed how Dough behaved during the fight. When it came to small weapons, he always confidently walked through them but with bigger weapons, he always walked back.
She assumed this was because Dough was wary that they could pierce him much easier since they had more weight behind their attacks compared to smaller weapons.
She saw the tree behind him and slowly pushed him back to get him closer to execute the plan.
Dough had caught the unusual behavior. She was far more passive with her attacks before, attacking with the intent to kill or cause serious harm, now, it seemed like she was desperate to kill him.
Is this a desperate struggle? Wouldn’t be surprised if it was. I can see her sweating; she must be tired from this fight.
Very well, I’ll go along with it until she’s too tired, then I’ll slowly eat her alive.
Maybe find her father and force him to watch.
[ROAR]
Dough heard a roar and turned around towards the battlefield.
He noticed his fellow ogres were declining in numbers, the dwarves were winning the fight.
How are they-? I guess they got much stronger than I thought.
Can she hurry up and get tired already, I won’t be able to enjoy her.
He was nearing the tree, and the plan was finally coming into play.
She releases giant racks of weapons from her sleeves.
“What is she-!?”
She learned the racks forward which caused the weapons to slowly fall down, from her to Dough.
Dough backed up but hit his back against the tree.
Seeing no escape, he transforms his entire body to stone.
Dulward jumped down, remaining silent as he did. As much as he wanted to scream, it would only ruin their plan.
I swear once I esc-!?
Dough was cut off by Dough, who had destroyed his body while it was stone, ending his life.
No flashy end, no battle scream, just a well-executed plan to bring an end to this fight.
His body had transformed to normal upon his death, leaving a lot of blood to spill out.
The other ogres had been slain as well. Leaving a lot of casualties for the dwarves and complete annihilation for the ogres.
Dulward stepped forward, carrying Dough’s head.
He lifted it into the air, showing it to his allies, their victory.
Stolen novel; please report.
All the dwarves cheered in victory and the walls around them crumbled.
A dwarf had entered from the other side and screamed for the chief.
Dulward heard his plea and turned in his direction.
“Dulward! Ogres have attacked the city!”
“Ogres!”
Dulward didn’t know there were more ogres present. While he had his revenge, this attack was intended to remove all ogres.
“Father, I can go.”
“But y-you're tired.”
“Don’t worry Father, I can obtain a fatigue position in the city.
Trusting his daughter after the skillful plan they executed, he decided to trust her and nodded his head.
She runs out of the forest, determined to bring an end to the remaining ogres.
Back with Greedon, his clothes are very torn from the battle that had occurred.
During this time, it was too much for him.
He was currently hiding behind a building, staying out of sight from the female ogre and the old ogre who was on the rooftops looking for him.
Damn it, how am I supposed to beat these two?
Every time I try to use my Sonic Roar, the female one cuts me off and every time I try to attack the old man, I experience intense pain throughout my entire body.
And I lost my regular dagger.
The Armor Piercer is useless, and I can’t risk losing my Poison Fang.
It must be the skill of that female one. If only I had one other person to help me, then I could win and take their skills.
“There you are.”
Looking up, Greedon is attacked by the old ogre from above.
He dodges the attack and tries using his Sonic Roar, but a sharp pain is felt throughout his entire body once again.
“Ugh!”
He falls back, picking himself up and running away.
He just barely dodges the card-cutter skill by turning a corner.
The female ogre chases him down from behind, making sure he doesn’t escape. He runs to the top of the roof of a house by using his [Sticky Roof] skill.
He then covers the roof with a spider web, which causes the female ogre's hand to get stuck.
He uses his [Black Fog] skill to blind the female ogre.
He activates his heat vision to keep track of where both are.
He uses his [Sonic Roar], which blinds the man once again, causing him to fall near the female ogre.
He takes this chance to find a high spot to sneak into a weapon shop and take some weapons.
“Heal me already!”
“Don’t command me your old sack! You’re lucky we have orders!”
Orders? So, they have a leader. It also seems they don’t get along. Maybe I could use that to my advantage. He has been screaming at her for the past hour whenever I injure the old guy.
[Shapeshifting]
He transforms himself into a crate, keeping his clothes inside him to hide them.
This allows for him to temporarily escape, leaving the ogres confused. Especially the male one, who’s attempting to use his hearing to pinpoint Greedon.
He fails in that however since Greedon doesn’t breathe due to his slime nature.
“Where is he! Damn old man, you had one job!”
“Shut it, slut for brains!”
[CRASH!]
The female ogre is struck in the back of the head by a large hammer that comes out of nowhere.
“WHO-!”
He cuts another one and flies towards him, looking for the assailant.
This allows Greedon to use his [Sonic Roar], incapacitating the old ogre.
“DAMN IT!”
He stabs the old ogre in the thigh with the Poison Fang.
The female one grabs the old man and jumps to the top of a roof, healing him and cleansing him of the poison.
Ningetsu reveals herself, on top of another roof, carrying a potion.
Seeing them, he also jumps on top of a roof.
“Hm? I thought you died?”
[----Why are you here? Don’t you need to worry about the forest?]
“We already dealt with that.”
[HUUUH! But–then–why-?]
“Forget about the forest, you should worry about the ogres in front of us.”
The 2 ogres were watching them communicate from a different roof.
During that time, they contemplated who they wanted.
The old man knew that Greedon had a major advantage against him, but he wanted revenge for getting stabbed and blinded by him.
The female one, however, desired Ningetsu, hoping to take her back to her cave and violate her.
Ningetsu takes out a dagger from her sleeve and throws it at him.
Catching it, he observes it.
A small bright shiny silver blade with a white glow, a curved edge, and a blue handle that has a silver spike at the bottom which also has openings for something to go through it.
[A dagger?]
“---As an apology for trying to kill you, I am giving you a high-quality and powerful dagger.”
[---Nice.]
Greedon carries the new dagger and his poison fang in hand, ready to finish the fight.
Ningetsu brings out 2 silver daggers as well.
The old ogre looks towards Greedon, ready to take his revenge and the female one looks at Ningetsu with lust, preparing her weapon.
