Chapter 2: Serpent Boss and Mind Tickler

Greedon is moving through the halls, and as he does, he comes across lots of different treasures.

Lots of gold coins and lots of jewels.

  His current inventory consists of:

  [Gold Coins x4,576]

  [Red Jewels x3]

  [Emeralds x7]

  [Purple Gemstones x2]

  [Imaginary Dungeon Key x1]

  I’m freaking rich!

Once I escape, hopefully, I can buy lots of food to get rid of this stupid passive skill.

And this key, it's probably going to open a door.

He began trying out his Spider Silk skill, but he had a hard time doing so.

He has poor aim when shooting it out his mouth, and sometimes, it doesn’t activate at all.

He doesn’t know why but hopes that if this status window is standard in this world, then he could ask around once he escapes, after getting a full human body and the ability to communicate of course.

He continues down the path, consuming any mana crystals he comes across so that he can heal if he ever starts fighting again.

He continues searching the vastly empty dungeon, and he encounters a chest at a dead end.

  Loot!

He rushes to the chest but stops immediately.

Wait. I’m not falling for that!

He thinks back to the time when he was playing his favorite game.

He had always encountered doppelgangers who could transform themselves into chests and trick players to steal their loot.

If that’s a doppelganger or something similar to one, I have a shortcut to get a human form and fight better.

Releasing a tentacle from his body, he grabs a stone slab and throws it at the chest.

Imagining himself picking it up and throwing it to do so.

It consumes the slab and spawns' legs, running towards him while chomping, intending to eat him.

Just as he predicted. The perfect opportunity.

He shot the mimic with his Spider Silk skill, which restrained its legs and caused it to fall over, breaking its own teeth.

Taking this chance, he quickly jumps to the chest and covers it, consuming it whole.

He struggles a little due to its resistance but eventually defeats it.

  [1 Skill Acquired!]

[Shapeshifting: Allows the user to take the form of anything they imagine]

  Alright.

Taking this chance, he began to imagine himself from his past life.

He concentrated hard and felt his body change over time, slowly but steadily.

In between the 5 hours it took him to transform, he would always flashback to his parents.

He knew that now this was his new life, and he was excited about it but the other part of him wished that he could have survived the explosion.

He was happy in his original world and so far, this world has been just a struggle.

He felt a sense of loneliness, being trapped in this dungeon with only him and his thoughts.

Needing to eat to survive and needing to fight a monster to survive.

No, no, gotta stop, can’t drown in pity.

He didn’t want to feel like he was going to fall into depression, believing this game-like life could hopefully distract him from this until he escaped this dungeon and maybe give him just as good a life as he had before.

Finishing his transformation, he had short white hair, pale skin, and imperial red eyes, just as he had before. But what was not common from his original self was the fact that he had the body of a 10-year-old.

What the-? Why am I younger?

He tried imagining himself taller, but it wasn't working.

He figured it was because, during his little flashback, he remembered the time when he was younger.

When he was 9 years old, he got his first ever game, his parents used a lot of their money to buy it for him and it made him truly grateful, it was what started his love for games and RPG.

It wasn't long ago, but it definitely felt like it.

Getting emotional during the most important moment of his life must have fixed him in this 10-year-old body.

He tried speaking but it didn't work.

Despite his human form, he still couldn't communicate with his voice.

And he was naked but thankfully, he didn’t imagine a rod on himself.

He would have felt naked if that was the case.

I should imagine myself with a d after I get some clothes.

With his new form, he tries walking but he falls over.

Whoa! Gonna need to get used to this again.

Moving down the hall, he crawled, trying to pick himself up each time.

He found himself in front of a large door after some time.

Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit.

  Definitely a boss room.

I’m not going in there; I need to move properly.

He decided that he needed to get used to his human form again and collect more mana crystals, expecting himself to take a lot of damage.

He knows nothing about combat so hopes he can copy the things he’s seen in games by practicing the movement.

3 days had passed since he was in this dungeon, he had finally gotten used to being human again.

He hadn't found any monsters so he couldn’t obtain any skills that would be helpful.

He had also been collecting more items, his current inventory consisting of:

  [Mana Crystals x321]

  [Herbs x211]

  [Gold Coins x46,576]

  [Red Jewel x9]

  [Emerald x9]

  [Purple Gemstone x15]

  [Imaginary Dungeon Key x2]

He had also obtained an already used dagger known as [Poison Fang]

With the ability to inflict poison onto an enemy.

Walking back to the door, he takes out the dagger from his inventory by spitting it out.

He pushes open the door, which is quite difficult, taking a good 20 minutes to get across, and sees 2 monsters waiting for him on the other side.

A giant serpent with armor scales and a floating brain with eyes.

The serpent immediately attacked him, slithering so fast that he could barely keep up with it.

He dodged just in time by jumping out of the way.

He began running, utilizing his past experience as a 1st place runner and gaining multiple metals from those races.

I should try to jump into the serpent-?!

He stopped thinking for a moment.

  HUH!

  Why would I think that?

The serpent had begun chasing him.

Due to his light and small body, he was able to move much faster than he could in slime form.

He dodges the next attack again, jumping back and lunging his dagger at the serpent.

It only bounces off due to the armor.

  Crap.

He stumbles back, trying to keep his balance.

  I should stay still-.

  AGAIN!?

Why do I keep thinking random stuff out of nowhere?

Of course, I would want to let m-.

Shut up! Hitting his head as he thought.

Looking around, he looks towards the flying brain.

It must be that. It's a literal brain for crying out loud.

The serpent bites his arm off and throws him to the side.

He hits the wall and his arm regenerates

  [Mana Crystals x321 → Mana Crystals x315]

  Damn, this thing is strong.

Thank goodness playing those VR games helped me get used to being thrown around.

  Still a slightly different experience.

He picks himself up quickly to dodge the serpent’s next attack which happened shortly after.

Looking towards the face, he sees the head is much fleshier than the body.

He uses his [Spider Silk] skill to stick it to the serpent and pulls himself forward while pushing himself in its direction.

He stabs it in the head which deals damage and applies the poison.

  Finally!

He tries to step back but his body doesn’t obey for some reason.

He feels a random sense of fear out of nowhere, preventing him from moving.

  Why can't I move?!

The serpent smacks him with its tail, sending him spinning near the flying brain.

He tries to grab it, but it moves out the way, leaving him to crash into the second door that was on the other side.

  Another door?

  That must be the outside.

He dodges again but he loses a leg this time.

  [Mana Crystals x315 → Mana Crystals x307]

This goes on, continuously getting his body ripped apart.

He tries to dodge and fight back but his lack of experience with an actual body instead of a digital one makes it harder.

  [Mana Crystals x307 → Mana Crystals x297]

  [Mana Crystals x297 → Mana Crystals x289]

  [Mana Crystals x289 → Mana Crystals x277]

  [Mana Crystals x277 → Mana Crystals x261]

He lands on the ground, his body regenerating.

  So annoying! My head hurts!

He rubs his head in pain.

He dodges the attack but places his dagger in front of the serpent, causing it to get its eye stabbed.

He gets pulled along with the serpent and pulls the dagger out, which breaks the tip.

  No!

He looks around, searching for the brain while holding onto the serpent.

Seeing it, he jumps off the serpent and tries grabbing the flying brain again but fails, this time, however, he has a plan.

He throws the dagger at it while falling down, catching it off guard.

Remembering doing something similar with a bird enemy in his RPG game before he died.

Needing to trick the enemy into dropping its guard.

He hits the brain and causes it to fall down, killing it instantly.

Landing, he doesn't waste time and quickly picks himself up, running to the dagger.

The serpent rushed to him from the opposite direction.

  I need–to reach first!

He picks up speed, using every bit of energy he has to reach first.

Just barely, he grabs the dagger and moves the corpse along with him, losing his arm in the process.

  [Mana Crystals x261 → Mana Crystals x256]

He picks the head up with his dagger and puts it in his mouth, the head dissolving fast and consuming it entirely.

  [New Skill Acquired!]

[Feeling What You Are Feeling: Can instill your thoughts, emotions, and ideas into other people]

Is that why I felt weird those times?

He also obtains memories of other people who have encountered this monster from the brain monster’s perspective.

So, this thing’s been using its skill to trick people but couldn’t do me too well because I’m part slime.

I wonder If it will work on the serpent.

Activating the skill, he thinks about making it feel tired, which seems not to work.

He dodges the attack but notices that it's becoming much more frantic and uncoordinated than before.

  Right! The poison.

If I can stall this out, the poison will kill it before it kills me.

The serpent turns around and grabs Greedon, not giving him enough time to dodge.

  Biting half of him off.

  NNNNH!

The mental pain becomes nearly unbearable.

  [Mana Crystals x256 → Mana Crystals x199]

  I lost so many crystals!

He begins running around, trying to avoid the serpent.

Purple veins appeared throughout its face to indicate the poison was getting worse.

He just needed to dodge long enough.

His arm is ripped off once again.

  [Mana Crystals x199 → Mana Crystals x194]

He slowed down a little as a result which allowed the serpent to hit him into the air and bite off one of his legs.

  [Mana Crystals x194 → Mana Crystals x189]

He fell on his face and his body was starting to lose its shape from being distracted for too long.

He felt no pain from hitting his face and quickly fixed his body back to human.

He jumped out of the way of the serpent’s attack and realized that attack was so much easier to see.

Looking at its face, the poison is now bringing it near death.

  Come on, come on.

The serpent releases a black fog from its mouth which engulfs the entire room.

  What the hell!?

Looking around, he cannot see anything.

Is this a latch-ditch effort or something? No way it can see me through this fog.

His entire body minus his head bitten off.

  [Mana Crystals x189 → Mana Crystals x 56]

He runs to find a wall, running in any direction he can.

Finding one, he uses his Sticky Roof skill to climb to the top.

Looking down, he hopes the serpent cannot reach him.

The serpent jumps out the fog, reaching for him, its movement even slower, indicating its near death.

With its last gasp of air, it tries to bite Greedon but fails and falls back to the ground.

The black fog disappears from the serpent’s death and he breathes a sign of relief.

I lost way too many mana crystals. Thankfully I survived.

He drops to the ground, looking over the corpse.

He wants to eat it right now but taps it a few times to make sure it's dead.

Now seeing that it’s dead, he covers its entire body and consumes it.

  [New Skills Acquired!]

[Black Fog: The user can release a dense black fog from their mouth]

[Heat Vision: Allows the user to see heat signatures]

He also gains the serpent's memories of eating many different people, presumable adventurers who came to this place.

Finally, I can get out of here.

He gets up and walks to the door.

He begins pushing at it, slowly getting it open as he does.

He only goes as far as a small crack.

Maybe I can slip through this?

Pushing his body through, he sees a bright light, having finally escaped this dungeon.
