In a world where technology and artificial intelligence have reached the peak of their evolution, a society has formed in a city called "Tizab." Tizab is a city with winding streets and tall, glass buildings where neon lights bring every corner to life.
Technological dominance and innovation are central to the daily lives of its inhabitants. Yet, despite its modern appearance, the city is under the control of hidden powers.
The story begins with a new character named "Julia." From childhood, Julia had always dreamed of becoming an artist, but financial struggles forced her to work to support her family.
She views her bicycle as an escape from reality. Julia, a young girl working as a food delivery rider, falls off her bike during one of her deliveries due to carelessness.
While picking up her scattered belongings, she inadvertently finds a device unlike any other known in the city. This device appears to contain some kind of secret data, and as Julia examines it, it suddenly fastens onto her hand.
Julia, frightened by the event, fell to the ground as the device began scanning. Then, three-dimensional information appeared before her eyes. With curiosity and fear,
she stared at the data and realized it not only revealed deep secrets about the city but also unveiled a mysterious connection to her past. Upon discovering that the device could unlock doors to unknown powers, Julia was forced to choose between loyalty to the city, her own safety, and uncovering a truth that could change the world.
Despite her fear, Julia began examining the device. She found it was not made of ordinary materials; instead, strange lights and moving patterns flowed across its surface.
The three-dimensional information included maps of Tizab, though parts of them were completely erased, leaving only vague hints of ancient symbols visible.
At that moment, an indistinct sound emanated from the device. It whispered in an unfamiliar language, but one word was clear: "Selection." Julia nervously murmured, “Selection? What does that mean?” Suddenly,
the image of an elderly man in peculiar robes appeared on the map, seemingly looking directly at her. He said, “You are a queen.” The image of the man then vanished, but his words lingered in Julia's mind like an echo.
Julia, still shocked and confused, raised her hand to examine the device attached to her wrist. The device was calm now, emitting faint lights that resembled the beating of a living heart. She whispered under her breath, “Queen? What does this mean? Why me?”
At that moment, a familiar voice came through her pager: “Julia! What are you doing? Why haven’t you delivered the food? The customer’s complaining!” Still in shock, Julia hurriedly got up and pressed the pager button: “Yes, yes! I’m on my way. I’ll deliver it now.”
She quickly pulled down the sleeve of her jacket to hide the strange device. Taking a deep breath, she mounted her bicycle and headed toward her destination.
The streets of Tizab were always bustling and filled with neon lights, but this time, everything seemed dimmer to Julia. Her mind remained fixated on the mysterious sound and the device that had unwittingly intertwined itself with her fate.
After delivering the order and receiving a thankful smile from the customer, Julia took a moment to sit down and think about the device. A faint light flickered from under her sleeve, as if the device were alive. Trembling with curiosity,
the device suddenly began to sound an alarm; short beeps and a rapidly flashing red light startled Julia. But before she could do anything, everything abruptly turned off. An eerie silence filled the air, and Julia, now confused and worried, looked at her wrist.
She tried to remove the device, but it felt as if it had become a part of her skin. Suddenly, she noticed a few people who looked like military operatives quietly patrolling the neighborhood, scanning the area. Each of them carried advanced equipment, and it seemed they were carefully searching for something—or someone.
Julia quickly pulled her sleeve over the device and froze in place. Her heart was pounding wildly. She had no idea who this group was, but something about their behavior clearly seemed dangerous.
Slowly, she moved toward her bicycle, doing her best not to draw their attention. But one of them—a large man with a stern face and a scanning device in his hand—focused his attention on her. The scanner emitted a blue light, sweeping the area as it moved toward Julia.
The device on Julia's wrist began to vibrate—an unbearable tremor. Julia involuntarily raised her hand, pointing it toward the military group. At that moment, a green light emanated from the device, and the man holding the scanner suddenly froze. He narrowed his eyes, as if seeing something unexpected.
Before Julia could react, another member of the group, who appeared to be their leader, raised a weapon and fired at her. A projectile of energy created a blinding flash of light. Julia dodged with all her speed, gasping for air, and quickly grabbed her bicycle, fleeing into the sharp and shadowy alleys of the city.
Commands from the military group rang out behind her: “Get her!” Their vehicles roared to life, and the powerful beams of their lights illuminated the streets. Julia, panting heavily, used all her strength to escape their grasp. Yet her mind was preoccupied with a pressing question: Why had her device reacted? And why were they chasing her?
Julia dashed through the narrow alleys shrouded in misty shadows, her heartbeat pounding as if trying to escape her chest. The headlights of the pursuing vehicles illuminated the tall, crumbling walls, growing closer with every passing moment. The deafening roar of their engines echoed throughout the city.
She pedaled with all her might, yet her mind remained chaotic and restless. Julia knew full well that on a bicycle, she couldn't outrun the high-speed vehicles chasing her. As she reached the corner of an alley, fear and anxiety drove her to turn into it. But what lay ahead was unexpected: a dead end.
Her eyes darted around in search of another way out. Suddenly, she made a snap decision; abandoning her bicycle, she sprinted toward a narrow gap between two buildings. The space was tight and dark, each step a struggle to squeeze through, but Julia pushed forward—she had no other choice.
The screech of brakes and the halt of vehicles behind her echoed loudly. Their powerful lights cast eerie shadows on the walls. Julia tried to steady her heavy breaths, hoping not to attract their attention. Meanwhile, she could hear the murmurs of the military personnel drawing closer. One of them said, “The scan shows a signal here; we need to search more thoroughly.” Julia shrank herself down as much as she could, silently praying for an escape. Yet the faint tremor from the device on her wrist warned her: this wasn’t the end of her ordeal.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
The agents, with precise military skill, pulled Julia out from between the walls. They gripped her hands tightly and dragged her toward the military vehicle. Julia tried to resist, but the agents' roughness caused an injury on her hand. A drop of her blood fell onto the wrist device. Suddenly, the device's screen lit up, and complex algorithms began to shift. Julia stared at the device in astonishment, but the agents paid no attention and threw her into the vehicle.
The vehicle was ready to move when a sudden surge of electricity struck it. The sound of sparks and the abrupt halt of the vehicle shocked the agents. They quickly exited the vehicle and fired toward a point out of Julia's sight. Still inside the vehicle, Julia tried to understand what had happened. Her wrist device remained lit, and it seemed to be far more than just a simple tool. Did this device possess unknown powers? Was this the beginning of something much larger?
The sound of gunfire faded one by one, and an eerie silence engulfed the air. Julia struggled to breathe as she tried to organize her thoughts. Looking around with doubt and hesitation, she decided to step out of the vehicle to understand what was happening. But as soon as she opened the car door, she realized that the vehicle was no longer on the ground—it was, unbelievably, suspended in the air. Fear gripped her.
While trying to maintain her balance, her legs slipped on the floor of the vehicle, trapping her between the seat and the door. The vehicle was slowly but steadily rising, and Julia knew she had limited time to act. With incredible effort, she hooked her legs onto the open door and simultaneously pulled herself inside with all her might. With a final push of her legs, she managed to close the car door and tried to regain some semblance of calm.
Julia's eyes fell on the screen of her wristband, glowing with a mysterious blue light. The vehicle continued its steady ascent toward the sky. Although she couldn’t see outside through the matte windows, the sensation of rising higher and higher was unmistakable. Her heart pounded incessantly, and the soft glow of the wristband served as a constant reminder of the strange situation she found herself in. Julia couldn’t make sense of it—why was this happening to her?
Suddenly, a violent jolt shook the vehicle. Julia instinctively gripped the seat tightly to maintain her balance. After a few tense moments, the vehicle came to an abrupt halt, hanging motionless. A heavy silence enveloped everything, as if even time itself had paused. Julia took a deep breath, steeling herself. “I need to figure out what’s going on,” she muttered to herself.
After a moment of hesitation, she placed her trembling hand on the door handle. Each movement was deliberate, laced with both fear and curiosity. As she pulled the handle, the click of the lock shattered the eerie stillness. The door opened slowly, and a blinding light from outside flooded the interior. Julia squinted, her eyes taking a moment to adjust to the intensity of the light. What she saw before her was nothing like what she had expected—it was something wholly otherworldly.
At the moment the car door opened, Julia was confronted with something her mind couldn't comprehend. An inconceivable space filled with unfamiliar colors and lights moving gently like waves unfolded before her eyes. She felt as though the vehicle had entered a realm entirely different from her known world.
Since the military vehicle had specially designed, sealed windows, Julia had never been able to see outside. But now, with the door open, an unnatural and astonishing view revealed itself. She gazed around in disbelief, her eyes fixed on the floating lights and bizarre shapes. This was no longer Earth; this was clearly something far beyond. Overwhelmed by fear and awe, Julia realized she was now inside a massive, alien spacecraft that had eerily swallowed her whole.
Julia carefully scanned her surroundings and realized she was in a vast parking area filled with bizarre tools and gadgets. Faint lights emitted from some twisted devices, casting moving, eerie shadows on the walls. Julia exhaled heavily, feeling a wave of doubt and fear wash over her. In a faint voice, she called out, “Is anyone here?” She paused briefly and then, with an even shakier voice, murmured, “Hello… anyone…”
With every step she took, she felt the space pressing down on her, as if the parking lot itself were alive and watching her movements. Julia approached the glowing, mysterious objects, her curiosity overpowering her fear. Suddenly, a loud noise shattered the stillness. A large metallic door at the far end of the parking lot slowly creaked open with a jarring sound.
Julia froze, her eyes wide with shock as she witnessed an unexpected sight. The car, which had appeared completely stationary, began moving inexplicably toward the door, as if guided by an invisible force. Before she could react, the car abruptly lifted into the air and shot out with unprecedented speed. Intense lights and the dust stirred by the launch filled the atmosphere, and Julia stepped back in terror. Her heart pounded furiously in her chest. She had no idea what this bizarre event could mean.
Julia, snapping out of her shock, ran toward the parking door. She carefully looked outside and witnessed something her mind couldn’t comprehend. The vehicle, which had been falling from the sky, miraculously returned without a single scratch to the spot where the military personnel lay motionless, seemingly unconscious.
“What is happening?” Julia screamed inwardly, but all she could hear was the pounding of her heart. She stood frozen in disbelief, struggling to find logic in this bizarre situation. Everything seemed far too strange to understand.
Suddenly, a metallic sound, accompanied by a cold vibration, echoed from behind her. With a strange feeling tightening in her chest, Julia slowly and cautiously turned toward the sound. The parking lot, with its walls made of unfamiliar metals and the dim, cold light radiating from mysterious devices, no longer seemed like an ordinary space. Even though nothing visibly abnormal was present, the oppressive weight of an unknown presence filled the air, making Julia uneasy.
Fear ignited within her, as though each heartbeat was a warning of impending danger. Julia whispered in a trembling voice, “Is anyone here?” She paused briefly before speaking louder, “Hello…”
Her voice echoed through the silence, amplifying the cold, unfamiliar weight of the parking lot’s atmosphere. Step by cautious step, she moved toward the sound, her hands shaking and her breath uneven. The further she advanced, the shadow of fear loomed heavier over her mind, yet her curiosity compelled her to keep going.
In the darkness of the dead-end alley, faint and indistinct sounds echoed. Guido, one of the military team members, slowly regained consciousness. A sense of cold and heaviness gripped his entire body. He barely managed to open his eyes and glanced around, disoriented. Mika and Tess lay motionless on the ground beside him.
“Why are we here?” Guido asked in a hoarse, shaky voice. Scattered memories of firing at the spacecraft jumbled in his mind like a broken puzzle.
Mika, struggling to sit up, replied, “We fired at the ship… then…”
Tess, now standing, spoke anxiously and confusedly, “The device! Where’s the girl?”
Guido scanned his surroundings carefully, but there was no sign of the girl or the device. “The girl… she’s gone with the device. She escaped.”
At that moment, a rusty sound came from a nearby command console. A blurry display of signals and visual data appeared on the screen. Tess stepped closer and cautiously touched the screen. “This… how is this possible?”
Mika approached her, visibly worried, and said, “This data shows the ship took the girl. We need to report this to command.”
Guido responded with determination, “We can’t stay here. We need to transmit the data immediately and figure out where the girl and the device are.”
Suddenly, a harsh voice came through the console’s speaker: “Status report. Have you retrieved the device?”
Tess and Mika exchanged wide-eyed glances. Guido cautiously replied, “Sir, we’ve lost the device.”
An angry, growling voice barked back through the vehicle’s radio: “What the hell are you doing? Find its location immediately and retrieve the device!”
Meanwhile, from a farther distance, another group, clearly enemies of the military team, observed the events with advanced weapons and equipment. Their leader, with a cold and calculated look, spoke calmly, “These soldiers are useless. It’s time for us to step in. The device cannot remain in their hands.”
One of his subordinates replied with a bitter laugh, “Time to show them who’s really in control.”
The leader nodded slowly and addressed his team, “Move out. We’ll get the device. Nothing can stand in our way.”
