Chapter 257: Qin Xiao’s Backup Plan

Chapter 257: Qin Xiao’s Backup Pn

The gods stared at Qin Xiao, their eyes involuntarily showing fear.

  He was too fierce.

Despite their combined efforts, they had still failed to stop Qin Xiao from killing two gods!

“Master, Qin Xiao’s combat strength is now beyond our ability to contend with,”

The God of Sloth took advantage of the stalemate to secretly send a message to the God of Destruction.

Indeed, they couldn’t overpower him. The God of Destruction’s eyes fshed, realizing the severity of the situation.

In the earlier battle, all eight of them had attacked Qin Xiao together, and the God of Life had been watching over them, extending their lives.

Now, the God of Life’s power was almost exhausted, and two main gods had fallen. If the fight continued, they would inevitably face defeat.

  No.

To be precise, it wouldn’t just be defeat.

If they lost, they would pay with their lives.

‘But there’s no turning back now; the battle has started, and the losses are too great—this is a blood feud!’

The God of Destruction felt unwilling to give up.

With three main gods already fallen, how could he just abandon the fight?

Retreating was out of the question; they could only find another way to eliminate Qin Xiao.

“How is the pn you mentioned progressing?”

The God of Destruction secretly messaged the God of Sloth to check on the status.

Upon hearing this, the God of Sloth responded quickly, “Master, my avatar has already descended to the Douluo pne. Given a bit more time, it will surely uncover Qin Xiao’s weakness and use it to force him into submission!”

  “Good.”

The God of Destruction’s gaze hardened, and his deep voice echoed in the God of Sloth’s mind, “Then we will do our best to buy you that time. If you succeed, you’ll have achieved a great merit, and Qin Xiao’s ultra-divine weapon halberd will be yours.”

“Thank you, Master, for the reward. This mission will succeed.”

The God of Sloth was overjoyed.

Everyone had witnessed the power of Qin Xiao’s ultra-divine weapon; possessing it would greatly enhance his own strength.

  Meanwhile.

  On the Douluo Continent.

At the top of the walls of Thunder City,

Qian Daoliu, Bibi Dong, Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and other powerful figures stood side by side.

They couldn’t help but look up at the sky.

A dazzling light was slowly descending,

  like a falling meteor.

In reality, it was only due to the distance that they perceived the light’s speed as slow.

They knew very well that this light was moving at an astonishing speed.

It wouldn’t be long before it hit the ground.

If mishandled, it would spell a catastrophe for the Douluo Continent.

“It’s just as Qin Xiao said; there are gods willing to abandon their dignity and sneak down to the lower world.”

Qian Daoliu spoke, a mocking smile forming at the corner of his mouth.

  Of course.

He wasn’t mocking the gods’ power,

  but rather their behavior.

The enormous spatial rift outside Douluo Star was visible to them all.

It was proof that Qin Xiao was battling the gods.

The sudden descent of such an entity could only mean shady intentions.

  It was utterly disgraceful.

“History is written by the victors,”

Bibi Dong commented calmly, “If the gods win, today’s events will be recorded as a righteous battle against evil forces, celebrating their victory.”

“No one will care about the losers, nor will they know the means used.”

  “That’s true.”

“But they’ve miscalcuted. No matter who comes, they’ll leave without returning!”

As Qian Daoliu spoke, his expression turned cold.

As his words fell, divine power erupted from his body.

A golden suit of armor appeared on him.

He then reached out, and a golden holy sword formed in his hand, radiating sharp energy that swept across the area.

Seeing this, Chen Xin (Sword Douluo) was slightly moved and secretly impressed.

In his heart, he admitted that even with Ning Fengzhi’s support, he wasn’t a match for Qian Daoliu’s current strength.

The difference between humans and gods wasn’t mere words.

Ning Fengzhi’s expression shifted slightly, and he csped his hands together in a congratutory gesture, “Congratutions, Senior Qian.”

Qian Daoliu shook his head with a ugh, “Haha, it’s nothing. I only benefitted from Qin Xiao’s influence. No more words—I'll go ahead.”

“If there’s anything to say, we’ll talk when I return. The safety of Thunder City is in your hands.”

With that, Qian Daoliu wielded the Angel Sword, slicing open a dark crack in space, then stepped inside without hesitation.

Beside him, Bibi Dong scoffed and, not wanting to be outdone, summoned the Rakshasa Scythe to slice open the void, disappearing into the bck spatial rift.

On the Thunder City walls, only Sword Douluo and Ning Fengzhi remained.

“Sect Master, what are you thinking?”

Sword Douluo asked in a low voice.

“When Qian Daoliu left, he seemed bold, yet there was a hint of finality in his words.”

“It seems they have little confidence in defeating the descending gods.”

Ning Fengzhi’s eyes showed a trace of worry.

Sword Douluo noticed this and said, “Sect Master, even if you don’t trust Qian Daoliu and Bibi Dong, you should trust Qin Xiao. With his level of cunning, he wouldn’t boldly wage war against the Divine Realm without a backup pn.

I believe that the invading gods will meet their end on the Douluo Continent, and we’ll come out of this safe and sound.”

With those words, the serious look in Sword Douluo’s eyes vanished completely.

He believed in what he’d said.

Since Qin Xiao had everything arranged, what was there to fear?

  Boom.

A streak of fire fell from the sky, leveling a hundred-meter-high hill.

The powerful force poured into the ground, causing tremors that felt like an earthquake.

“It’s certainly difficult to descend to the Douluo pne,”

“But, damn pne willpower, you’re still too weak. You couldn’t stop me in the end, could you?”

  “Hahaha.”

In the massive crater, a figure slowly appeared.

At first gnce, this figure looked identical to the God of Sloth.

  No.

Without a doubt, it was the God of Sloth’s avatar—a puppet capable of unleashing second-tier god-level power for a short period.

“Next, I should find a creature with memories of Qin Xiao.

Given his power, someone like him wouldn’t be obscure on the Douluo Continent.”

The God of Sloth quickly outlined his pn to himself, muttering under his breath.

  However.

Just as his voice faded, a space nearby suddenly cracked open, and a figure stepped out.

It was a majestic figure cd in golden armor, holding a holy sword of light.

  Unmistakably, it was Qian Daoliu.

He addressed the God of Sloth, “No need for the trouble. If you have questions, just ask me directly.”

“An inheritor of the Angel God,”

The God of Sloth’s eyes narrowed suddenly.

It was well known that the Angel God’s position was not low, fully equal to his own. A true first-tier god.

If there was a first-tier god guarding the Douluo Continent, achieving his goal would be extremely difficult.

In fact, he might not leave here alive.

  “Hmm, something’s not quite right.”

After calming down a bit, the God of Sloth noticed an inconsistency.

The power of the person before him didn’t reach the level of a main god; he was only at the standard of a third-tier god.

  “Hahaha, I almost misjudged.”

The God of Sloth let out a sinister chuckle, “Since you’re only a third-tier god, I have nothing to fear.”

“What’s this? You look down on me just because I’m a third-tier god?” Qian Daoliu raised an eyebrow, feeling a bit insulted.

  “What do you think?”

“Mortal men always say that a higher rank trumps all, and that rule holds in the Divine Realm as well. This avatar of mine possesses the power of a second-tier god. Against you, it’s an absolute crush.”

The God of Sloth sneered and unleashed his formidable divine power.

In mere seconds, Qian Daoliu’s powerful aura was completely suppressed.

  Qian Daoliu’s expression shifted instantly.

The truth was, as the God of Sloth said, the difference in godly power between tiers was vast, like heaven and earth.

  But...

Now that the arrow was on the string, he had to let it fly.

  “Attack!”

He shouted, gripping the Angel Sword with both hands and raising it overhead before sshing it down with force.

A thousand-meter-long golden sword light extended from the Angel Sword, seemingly poised to cleave the God of Sloth in two.

In response, the God of Sloth’s pupils narrowed, and he didn’t dare to underestimate the attack.

  Dodging

, he condensed the dark green divine light around him into a long spear, aiming it at Qian Daoliu.

  Whoosh!

The spear tore through the air with a fierce sound.

In truth, even as the sound was produced, the spear’s sharp tip had already reached Qian Daoliu.

The terrifying power within made Qian Daoliu’s heart tremble.

At the st moment, he raised the Angel Sword to block the attack.

  Ding!

The dark green divine spear collided with the Angel Sword, producing a crisp cng.

Qian Daoliu felt a slight strain, his arm bending slightly as he was pushed back by the force of the spear.

“Haha, I told you before—don’t underestimate the gap between godly tiers.”

The God of Sloth smirked coldly, his plump face dispying a chilling expression, while his small eyes gleamed with icy intent. Another dark green spear was already forming in his hand.

Without a doubt, he pnned to capitalize on Qian Daoliu’s weakened state to deliver a killing blow.

  owever,

In the next moment, he felt a chill at his back.

He instinctively tried to move his body,

But it was too te. A dark purple scythe had already sshed across his body with a fierce blow.

  Rip!

A sound like tearing fabric echoed as the scythe carved a long gash into him, nearly splitting him in two.

  “Who dares to ambush me?”

The God of Sloth, no longer caring about precision, swung his half-formed attack behind him.

  Crack! Crack!

The surrounding space shattered like a broken mirror, and a figure cd in dark purple armor emerged from the void, falling into view.

In her hand, she held a massive scythe.

“The inheritor of the God of Rakshasa,” the God of Sloth sneered, “I didn’t expect the God of Rakshasa’s legacy to be here on the Douluo Continent.”

  Inwardly, he added a thought:

  What a curse.

Normally, a pne having one or two divine inheritances is rare enough.

But the Douluo pne? It’s apparently favored by the gods.

“Seriously, it’s bad enough to be their favorite, but why did they have to send all their heirs to show up here at the same time? Are you all out to make my life difficult?”

The God of Sloth silently cursed,

going so far as to berate the former Angel God and Rakshasa God in his mind.

Meanwhile, Bibi Dong had retreated to a distance, a look of regret in her eyes.

  So close.

She was so close to ending this god.

“This guy’s reaction speed is just too quick. As expected of someone with the power of a second-tier god.”

At that moment, Qian Daoliu came over to Bibi Dong’s side and remarked, “What if you’d been a bit slower? Letting him release another attack…”

But before he could finish, Bibi Dong cut him off coldly, “If I had been slower, there would have been no guarantee of killing this guy before us. But you would surely have been seriously wounded or even killed…”

  With that, she stopped speaking.

Qian Daoliu, however, understood her intent.

With a complicated expression, he said, “Thank you.”

By now, everything had become clear.

Everything that Bibi Dong and Qian Daoliu had done was part of a pn.

The goal was to make the God of Sloth drop his guard and ambush him, cutting him down.

  “Well, well, very good.”

“So, you two pnned this from the start and plotted against me.”

“Lucky for me I’m powerful, or else I’d have really ended up as a victim of my own compcency.”

The God of Sloth spoke coldly.

Yet inwardly, he felt a sliver of relief.

As he’d said, he had come dangerously close to failure.

“But you had your chance, and you still couldn’t make use of it.”

“Now, don’t bme me for being ruthless.”

With divine power surging wildly, two dark green spears materialized in his hands.

Then, wielding the spears, he charged at Bibi Dong and Qian Daoliu with agility far beyond what his size would suggest.

“This one is still so ferocious despite his severe injuries. We must be careful,”

Bibi Dong warned Qian Daoliu while blocking with her Rakshasa Scythe.

  “Be careful yourself.”

Qian Daoliu replied, his Angel Sword fshing with a sharp, deadly light as he sshed toward the God of Sloth.

For a moment, the three fought fiercely, evenly matched.

  However,

It was clear that if either Bibi Dong or Qian Daoliu slipped up, this delicate bance would instantly be shattered.

And the God of Sloth would emerge as the ultimate victor.

“Let’s see how long you two can hold out!”

The God of Sloth, aware of his advantage, grew more confident.

As long as he didn’t make any major mistakes, suppressing the two was only a matter of time.

  Suddenly,

Bibi Dong and Qian Daoliu’s expressions changed.

In their minds, the voice of the Deep Sea Demon Whale King rang out.

  “Come over here.”

  “I’ve got a little surprise.”

“If I can nd it, I’ll finish him off for sure!”

Without a doubt, this was Qin Xiao’s backup pn.

Qian Daoliu and Bibi Dong exchanged a gnce, a silent understanding passing between them as they led the God of Sloth toward the Deep Sea Demon Whale King’s hiding pce.

Whether the tide of battle could be turned rested solely on him.
