Chapter 12: Revenge. Parte 1

  Station The Orbe

Orion was sitting in a private room, meeting with Nashira Ki, daughter of the Orbe Station commander Cori Ki. He looked at the clock and noticed it was 20 minutes past the agreed time, so Orion took the opportunity to update his flight log.

Nashira Ki arrived suddenly, carefree and smiling. She was wearing a special uniform for piloting fighter jets, with short pink hair, and she was as tall as Orion.

  – Sorry for the dey, but I was piloting and lost track of time – she said in a carefree tone.

  – It's okay, it doesn't matter. We can start the meeting and make use of the time we have left – Orion said, showing her they only had 20 minutes left.

  – That's great, 20 minutes is enough. But there must be a misunderstanding, I didn't want a meeting, I wanted a date with you – she said, smiling.

  – A date? I'm sorry, there must be some confusion. I didn't come here for a date – Orion stated.

  – I contacted your secretary, Ezra, and asked him to schedule this appointment with you. But hey, it doesn't matter, I want to take advantage of these 20 minutes to tell you that I have been watching you. Every day you train with your fighter jet and you really are fabulous. We would be good together; we share a passion for jets – Nashira said in a flirtatious tone.

  – Nashira, I'm sorry. But I'm not interested – Orion said as he picked up his things and prepared to leave.

Nashira stopped him and approached him. She was one of those women who did not give up. Orion had never met a girl as brazen as her. She got too close, putting her face on Orion's shoulder.

  – I would like to ride with you at some point – Nashira said, fixing her eyes very close to Orion's and with a pleading voice. Suddenly, Ezra O'Niel entered the room.

  – Excuse me, did I interrupt you? Time is up. But I can schedule another date so you have time to talk – Ezra said with a smile.

  – Yep, you interrupted – Nashira said. – But we will have another time. See you, Orion at the flight practices.

She left, but her departure left Orion angry at Ezra.

  – You made a date for me without my permission. Are you insane? – Orion said to Ezra in a strong voice.

  – I saw you two very close, you didn't seem like you were compining – Ezra said sarcastically. – She is the daughter of the commander of this station; believe me, she is a good match.

  – I'm tired of you getting into my life – Orion said, gring at him.

Ezra turned his eyes and continued, – Calm down, Orion. Besides, I didn't come to talk about that. I have orders from above, and your father wants you to participate in the mission to eradicate the rebels in the marginalized colonies. He wants you in the battle.

Orion was surprised by this; he didn't imagine that his father would assign this to him so suddenly.

  – Yes, it surprises me too – Ezra said, adding, – If you want, I could talk to your father to change his mind.

  – If my father said to go, I will go – Orion said. – He wasn't just following his father's orders; he wanted revenge for the death of Dara and Caleb. – I didn't know you cared about me.

Ezra, with an evil smile, added, – Of course I worry. If you die, I will have wasted my time with you all this time. In the end, it's good that you continued practicing your jet flying, since you will need that.

  – Did my father say anything else? – Orion asked.

  – Nope, just that – Ezra said. – I'll give you some advice: don't py the hero. Just fulfill the assignments given to you by the captain in charge of the mission. You think I don't know what you're thinking? "Take revenge on the criminals who killed my dear Dara."

  – You're a damn idiot. How dare you mock me? – Orion said as he approached Ezra to hit him, and Ezra was ready to fight too.

This did not happen, as officers entered after hearing the argument. The officers ordered them to leave and go to their cabins. Orion and Ezra stared at each other from across the room, their eyes burning with anger.
