  Chapter 5: name

"I have no money, no home… teleported to a weird world. I’m tired."

He sighed, dragging his feet through the crowded streets.

No phone. No internet. No signal of Earth.

  "Man, this sucks."

The Kingdom was bustling with life. Floating people flew overhead using wind magic, others with animal ears barked out deals from magic item shops. The scent of cooked meat filled the air, smoke curling from stalls as fire cards lit up skewers and grills. The streets were loud, colorful, and filled with wonder—but he felt completely lost.

He wandered aimlessly until something caught his eye—a crowd surrounding a glowing dome.

It was a barrier, shimmering like glass, and inside, two people were fighting.

He watched, stunned. One contestant hurled flames from his palms while the other deflected them with a wall of stone and a stream of water. Elemental magic. A duel?

“What’s going on?” he mumbled, then turned to the nearest person, attempting to ask through broken sign language.

He pointed at the dome, made a fist, then mimed handing over money and giving a thumbs-up.

The man tilted his head, then smiled. He responded in basic signs:

  "Game. Winner… gets two gold."

The boy raised an eyebrow. Two gold? For winning?

He kept watching. From the fight, it was clear—they only used one or two elements at once.

No mixing. No combos. No chaos.

Is it restricted? Or is that all they can do?

He looked at his hand, feeling the mana pulse through his fingers. He could do more—but he needed to hide. If he showed everything, it might draw the wrong attention.

He stepped forward and pointed at the dome.

  “Me… fight,” he said, slowly.

The man looked surprised but nodded. “You want… join?”

  The boy nodded back.

Moments later, he stood inside the barrier, facing his first opponent. The crowd murmured—no one knew who he was. He didn’t even have a name yet.

  “Begin!”

With a flick, he released a wave of fire. His opponent didn’t have time to react—it was over in one blow.

The second match started. A sturdier fighter this time.

He slammed his foot, creating a thick rock pillar beneath the man, launching him upward—then brought him down with a single shockwave of earth.

  Final match.

This time, he combined his magic subtly. He created several stones, heated them with fire until they glowed red, then sent them flying like meteors.

  Boom. Boom. Boom.

The opponent collapsed—stunned, not hurt. The crowd gasped.

“He defeated a C-Rank Adventurer?” someone whispered.

  “Who is he?” another said.

The match ended. The crowd fell silent, then erupted in cheers. The boy stood still, confused by the reaction. He didn’t understand their words—but he was handed two gold coins.

Before he could walk away, a group approached him—adventurers.

A man with a long cloak and a sword stepped forward. “Hey, that was impressive. Join us.”

The boy tilted his head, confused. “Sorry… I don’t understand.”

Another member leaned toward the leader.

  “I think he’s a foreigner.”
