Chapter 6: First Mission
“I think he’s a foreigner...” one of the adventurers said after watching the mysterious boy's fight. The three of them looked at each other, then pointed at themselves and spoke their names with simple signs.
The tall man . “Kael.”
The younger guy with short brown hair and a bow on his back followed, “Rin.”
The girl, with a calm smile and a notebook in hand, nodded softly. “Lina.”
The boy stayed quiet for a moment, placing a hand over his chest. (In my previous life... what was my name?) A blurry memory floated in his mind, but he couldn’t recall it fully. He shook his head and whispered, “Sora… that’ll be my name now.” He raised his hand and pointed at himself. “Sora.”

The three adventurers smiled and nodded, understanding what he meant.
Lina pulled out her notebook and quickly sketched a round slime-like creature. Next to it, she drew stick-figure fighters and pointed at herself. Then at the creature. Then at Sora.
He understood.
“She’s saying we fight monsters... together.”
He nodded.
Later, the group took Sora to the adventurer’s guild to officially register him. The place was loud, filled with warriors, mages, and different kinds of magic users. After waiting in line, it was his turn. The clerk asked a few questions, but with the help of Kael’s translation and Sora pointing at flame and earth symbols, they registered him with fire and earth affinity.
“Fire and water, huh? That’s a nice combo!” the clerk said, mistakenly.
Sora tilted his head in confusion but smiled anyway.
He was handed an E-rank adventurer card. He pressed his hand against the magic stone to give a bit of mana. The card glowed briefly. He was now officially registered.
“We're a party now,” Kael said, tapping his shoulder.
Their first mission? Monster hunting.
Sora followed the team outside the kingdom to a nearby field. As they walked, he saw hundreds of slimy, squishy creatures bouncing around.
Even though they looked weak—childish, even—their numbers were overwhelming.
Kael drew his sword with ease. Rin knocked an arrow. Lina stood behind, casting minor spells and preparing healing supp
ort. All of them were clearly experienced.
