Chp 2 - The Path Forward

The day after the simulation, the academy is buzzing with talk.Yunus sits quietly in the back corner of Class 1-A. Everyone keeps glancing at him. Whispers spread like wildfire.“He controlled that much fire?”“No way he’s only a first-year…”“Is he really just a flame user?”Yunus ignores them all. His focus is on the strange feeling from yesterday. The power that surged through him—it wasn’t his. Not entirely. Something deeper stirred in his chest, something older.

Ustadh Tariq walks in, his coat flowing behind him like a cape.“Today,” he announces, “we begin the foundation of your journey as heroes. Training Arc—Day One.”A large board appears behind him with a single phrase: The Three Pillars of a HeroStrength

  Strategy

  Soul

“You will be trained in all three,” he continues. “And tested in each one.”

Training Field – First Trial: StrengthOutdoors, the students gather on a wide arena, surrounded by nature and stone dummies.“Pair up!” Ustadh commands.Yunus pairs with Zara, the wind user. She grins at him, spinning a gust of air around her fingers. “Don’t go easy on me, fire boy.”Yunus doesn’t smile back. “I never do.”The battle begins. She’s fast—like a dancing storm—but Yunus counters her with controlled blasts of flame. The match ends in a draw, but both of them are breathing hard, smirking despite themselves.Meanwhile, Hamza lifts three stone dummies by himself using earth, showing his brute force. Ayaan manipulates metal fragments into floating shields. Huda supports her classmates with quick healing bursts, already a natural leader in a crisis.

Second Trial: StrategyThat afternoon, students are taken to a simulation room with holographic villains and time-limited rescue scenarios. It’s not about fighting—it’s about thinking.Yunus freezes when the scenario shows a collapsing house with a crying child. It mirrors his past.He falters… for a second. But then he breathes, focuses, and leads his team to save the victims. He puts his own fear aside.Later, Ustadh Tariq watches the recordings with the principal.“Yunus has potential,” Tariq says. “But something holds him back.”Principal Imam Rahman replies, “It’s not something. It’s someone.”

Evening – Soul TrainingThe last part of the day is meditation and reflection—unusual for hero training, but deeply important here. They sit in silence beneath the crescent moon.Ustadh Tariq speaks softly. “Your power is not who you are. Your soul is.”Yunus closes his eyes. He sees fire. A house. Shadows. A hand reaching for him—But another boy pushes him away.“Run.”His brother.A name echoes in his mind—Asad.

Meanwhile – Somewhere ElseIn a hidden chamber, a masked villain watches a screen filled with academy data. His voice is low and cold.“So... the boy still remembers nothing.”Another figure enters. A woman with sharp eyes and a smirk—Zaleena, one of the elite villains of the group known as Sons of Jehel.“He’s growing stronger,” she says. “Should we move?”The masked man replies, “Not yet. Let him believe he’s safe. The truth will burn him soon enough.”

Final SceneYunus returns to his dorm. He looks at the flame in his palm and whispers, “Asad… I’ll find you.”Across the city, Asad watches from a rooftop, hidden in shadows, cloaked in black. He closes his eyes.“I’m sorry, Yunus.”He disappears into the night.
