Chapter 4: Tracking Glitchy

Since the firmware update suggestion by Dr. Kanon was a hefty price to pay, Ty and his siblings headed back to their apartment. They were unaware they were still being tailed by Rascal Riddle and Dashing Dwight. This time, Rascal was prepared – he had a tracking device ready.

“Now, all we have to do is plant this tracking device on their robotic cat” said Rascal, “you sure this will work?”

  “Positive” said Dashing Dwight.

Rascal aimed carefully, as soon as the four turned around a corner, Rascal tossed the tracking device. Glitchy managed to pick it up by just walking near it. The tracking device was so small, it fit right on its robotic paw.

“Now all we have to do is make sure we follow them back to where they live and see what we can do with the robotic feline there” said Dashing Dwight.

Dashing Dwight soon got out the tracking app through his cellphone, he could see where Glitchy was heading.

“That must be where Tyler lives, oh boy, I can just imagine it now creating all sorts of pranks on a daily basis!” laughed Rascal, “I can even make his house feel like a haunted house as a prank!”

“We still have to be careful; the Knight family surely remembers our trip at Grimnir’s Cave” said Dashing Dwight.

“Uh, that blue troll” sighed Rascal, “don’t remind me.”

The two pranksters began to carefully track the Knight siblings and Glitchy, eventually they arrived home. Marian was shocked by the hefty price of the firmware update.

“You mean all we need is to have a firmware update?” asked Marian, “Are there any cheaper options?”

“You know, we could try to find a programmer ourselves who could fix Glitchy for us,” said Excel.

Dee and Dave still were not so sure, Dee had knowledge in creating drones. She didn’t have the knowledge to look into updating firmware for Glitchy.

“I’ll have to ask my peers who can assist us for a cheaper option, give me at least a week,” said Dee.

The other residents of the Knight-Lennox apartment were quite curious about Glitchy, particularly Charlotte Lennox.

“He’s rather strange for a cat,” said Charlotte.

Charlotte had seen actual cats in her own time period, but they were mostly feral, alleyway cats back in the 18th Century. Glitch did its best trying to adjust with Charlotte, it attempted to purr up to her legs.

“Ah, he likes you,” said Ty.

Outside the apartment, Rascal and Dashing Dwight had finally caught up. They needed to stay in the alleyway to snoop inside.

“Careful” said Dashing Dwight, “we don’t want to be spotted by anyone from the inside.”

“Stealth is my middle name,” laughed Rascal.

Rascal and Dashing Dwight headed around the apartment into the alleyway, there Rascal setup his own makeshift tent with Dashing Dwight. They were unaware of the illegal camping rules of the 22nd Century. But Rascal didn’t seem to care, he was getting a front row seat.

“Say Dwight, does that app of yours also have a remote-control option?” asked Rascal.

“It’d take me sometime to gain access to our robotic feline” said Dashing Dwight, “give me one moment or two.”

Dashing Dwight soon turned towards his shady app on his cellphone, he did his best trying to gain access. For some strange reason, Dashing Dwight noticed some military codes were required to fully access Glitchy’s mainframe system. Dashing Dwight knew he would have to turn to the underworld for assistance.
