“Smile!”
Watchmaker said as Raelia tried to force an awkward smile on her face and both Sparkle and Ciel was laughing just as they were watching her face trying to desperately make out the form of a smile. It wasn’t something that they expected to happen and they didn’t want to be rude but nonetheless it was hilarious.
“Umm… Could you put a little more effort into smiling?”
Watchmaker said with an awkward look as Raelia sighed.
“I’m not really good with taking pictures so you are going to have to give me advice which helps me take a good picture.”
A chuckle came from Watchmaker as he began to smile.
“I used to be bad at smiling too but what taught me to smile was my father’s advice. If you want to smile then you should think about something that makes you truly happy.”
‘Money. Money. Money. Money. Good food. Steak. Steak. Air conditioning. A mansion. Money. Money. Money. Money. Money. Money.’
A comically large smile came across Raelia’s face and it caused an awkward look to befall everyone else’s faces. Never before in their life had they ever seen someone smile to oddly like this before and it was kind of concerning after all, if someone couldn’t smile then what sort of awful like must they have lived?
This was something that Sparkle was most concerned about and something that she would definitely have to solve for the better when Raelia is done playing with the game for today.
“Could you try and tone down your smile a bit? I think it would be weird if you are a little too happy in your adventurer’s guild profile if you are comically happy so please try and tone it down just by a bit.”
Raelia sighed.
‘Money. Money. Steak. Steak. Air conditioning. Mansion.’
“That’s a good picture!”
Watchmaker said after snapping a picture and showed it to the others than to Raelia. A look of relief dawned onto his face as surprisingly the picture came off as satisfactory but tif things weren’t going to come out like that it was possible that there would be some physical and mental consequences for him like the bizarre simps who harassed Ciel earlier.
“It looks pretty good. You should learn to smile more.”
Ciel was the first to comment.
“Yeah! Master you should smile more because you look so much better when you look so much better when you are smiling!”
“Well… It would have been so much easier to take a picture when I wasn’t the last person in our group to take a picture for the adventurer’s guild identity card.”
“That’s true. You should have been in the middle out of the three of us so you aren’t that pressured but it’s not something that you should worry about now that things are done.”
“Yeah your right.”
“So now that you’ve got your picture taken what else would you want to do now?”
Watchmaker said with a smile on is face as she thought back to the time when the three girls had saved him from a hoarder of boars which would have definitely killed him if he were left alone without their help.
“Well since we are part of the adventurer’s guild it’s common sense to take on some sort of assignment after getting accepted into them but the issue is choosing which assignment to work on considering that there is a lot missions there that we could choose to accept.”
Ciel commented with an inquisitive look on her face.
“Optimally we would choose a mission that would pay well while getting as much experience needed for you girls and guys to grow.”
“Well how about taking on multiple quests from those two categories that are well paying jobs and experience jobs but take up a reasonable amount of time to allow for you skills to develop.”
Watchmaker said with a look of glee on his face and me and Sparkle turned to him like he was the genius of the century. After all I have never met someone so smart and resourceful like him.
“That’s a good idea. But since we are going to be fighting together what is your type of weapon?”
Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website.
“We are fighting together?”
He asked with a look of confusion.
“Of course. You suggested this idea since you wanted to be part of our group? And aren’t you interested in getting stronger with the three of us?”
“And don’t worry we are going to share the loot and the guild rewards with you!”
“Thanks for the offer but I don’t think it’s something that I think I should do… Well since I have something to do in real life around now but I can get back to you girls once I am back online. I just have to do some stuff for my father.”
“What does your father do?”
Sparkle asked with a look of curiosity as she began to poke Watchmaker’s own face.
“He’s a watchmaker and he taught me the craft of watchmaking. It’s kind of embarrassing but my father is the person that I look up to most in the world and he’s a very reliable man that I want to be like in the future so even though this is something that I am playing for recreation if I am going to be called a Watchmaker I should at least try to uphold my father’s legacy.”
Raelia nodded.
“That’s a good boy.”
She patted his head as if he was a cute little animal and as if she had been personally satisfied by her response.
“Though what I would like to say is that you should become great for your own sake. After all your father could get angry at you if you continue to stay here.”
Watchmaker coughed after that comment.
“You are right. Cat-girl, no Raelia let’s become friends! In game and real life!”
[Watchmaker has sent you a friend request]
[Accept] [Decline]
Without having to think about it that much I decided to accept his friend request and a smile appeared on his face as the notification of me becoming his friend appeared on his end. He began waving at me.
“Well I am going to be going but I hope that you will be enjoying your tim-”
He said before abruptly vanishing out of reality and being taken into the real world. Something that caused a look of pure confusion to overcome Ciel’s face. Never before in her life had she seen anyone teleport right in front of her.
“Was that teleportation?”
“Kind of…”
Sparkle replied.
“It’s teleportation to another world of being and me and Raelia are also from another world and sometimes we are going to be teleporting back into this world when we can.”
Ciel sighed a breath of confusion.
“That is odd. I knew that you were someone from afar but I didn’t know that you would be from another world. Though since you’ve revealed that I wonder what might as well your other secret?”
Ciel looked up at Raelia. with a look of interest seeking to learn everything that she can about Raelia. But in truth she already knew her secret.
“I do have some secrets but it isn’t anything big but it’s that I am not really a good cook. So I kind of just take other people’s cooking and pass them off as mine.”
Raelia said with a worried look on her face while Sparkle inquisitively stared at her.
“Hey when we are back to the real world I am going to have to teach you from the ground up everything that you need to know about cooking.”
Raelia turned around and bowed.
"Thanks but please explain things to me in way that I will be sure to understand.”
“If you can’t understand it. I will explain it to you with a pain that is very easy to understand.”
Sparkle chuckled almost sadistically while Ciel watched on with a look of amusement.
“It’s like the two of you have been friends for life. Though it’s clear that the two of you have not known each for so long.”
Ciel said with a smile.
“Since we are going to be taking on some quests, I will be in charge of choosing the missions that we are going to do since I have the most experience and I am the most powerful out of us.”
“Alright. I am not opposed to the idea.”
—
“Damn. Your place is a mess but it’s a good thing that I’ve spent an hour cleaning up this damn mess of yours. I really should have checked up on her home after all she kept lying to me when she kept saying that this place was well-kept.”
Mister Earle complained with an exhausted look as he laid on the floor of Raelia’s bedroom. Clearly done with the fact that he needed to clean up for the young girl and her trash. Never before in his life would he think that someone like him would have to look after the mess of a young girl but here he was doing that.
A task completely unfitting for a man like him who had been educated and taught to read and write was talent wasted away from higher ideals of duty and purpose just by the mess of the girl.
He sighed to himself. Trying to find ways to justify the anger that he was feeling but in truth he knew that this problem was originally an issue that stemmed from him. After all Raelia had always picked up on his poor habits such as eating rats and not folding one’s blankets when waking in the morning.
Lessons that the young and developing girl would be far better without. Especially considering the promise that he had made to her mother. It was just something that he couldn’t do and it was something that he atoned for himself with his actions in cleaning up the young girl’s house.
From top to the bottom, the entire house had been cleaned out with all junk being thrown into plastic trash bags and entire rooms sanitized and perfumed. All work, effort and material contribution all coming from Mister Earle’s own body, soul and pockets.
“Ugh… How long has she been in that game.”
Earle thought to himself before complaining and grabbing one of the trash bags and beginning to walk over to throw them into a large industrial garbage can. But he stopped upon seeing a familiar face, a blonde young man with beautiful blue eyes. The son of the Watchmaker.
“Hey, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you kiddo.”
“Mister Earle! It’s you! What are you doing here? Do you need anything fixed? If you ask me then I will do things cheaper for you than my penny pinching father!”
Earle slightly chuckled as he thought of the fact that the young man’s first words were to instantly diss his father.
“Well I am not actually here to get anything fixed but all I am doing is throwing the trash. There’s quite a lot of trash bags left so I would like to get them thrown away.”
The blonde boy turned to the house that Mister Earle had mentioned and stared oddly at the giant black VR machines that he had mentioned. It kind of looked familiar as if he had seen something like it in a popular clip that he had seen recently.
“Could you spare me the time?”
“Business hours haven’t begun yet so I have time to spare and besides if my mother sees me helping you out, she’s probably going to call me a good boy and I am going to enjoy it so much!”
Mister Earle’s hands had been overflowing with the heavy trash bags so he dropped some on to the ground, allowing the young boy to take them up.
“You are surprisingly strong for a kid.”
“Well it’s just that my mom feeds me well and that my dad just beats me if I don’t work out. It’s not really something that I am really proud of since it’s something I am kind of forced to do.”
“I am surprised that you are pretty honest about your dad.”
“My dad is mean though I know that he is well meaning but my mom is unconditionally nice and she told me that the best way to gain someone’s trust is to be honest and not lie. Also when I do good things she feeds me with apple pie.”
“I wish that you mother started like a business for her own apple pies since back when we were in school together, she was selling them mad like they were hot cakes. Everyone in our school wanted them!”
“Wait! Mister Earle. you are educated!?”
“Well of course! If I were not educated how would I then be capable of acquiring a job at the rogue’s guild! It’s a job only for educated people who know how to read and write.”
“Well I also can read and writer though I am just homeschooled by my mom but my dad complains about my handwriting being too messy.”
“Last time I checked, your handwriting wasn’t that bad. My handwriting is a lot worse but someone with a lot worse handwriting is Raelia.”
“Raelia?”
The young boy asked with a look of confusion?
“What do you mean by that?’
He asked trying to clarify.
“That’s the name of the girl who’s trash we are handling. She’s kind of just a poor girl with no real parents or anyone to rely upon so that’s why I am trying to help her out.”
“Hey sir. How common of a name is Raelia?”
Earle had a confused look on his face.
“What do you mean? Did you meet two of them or something!?”
“Well I’ve met one but it’s not in the real world but in a game. A VR game using a device just like that…”
The young boy pointed at Raelia’s black VR machine that had just been basking out in the sun.
“I think I have seen her before…”
