Reconnaissance

High walls of polished stone gleamed in the sunlight. The castle stood alone, surrounded by an expanse of grassy plains. It was sturdy, meanacing and unaproachable; its towering blanks an intimidating view to anyone even daring to dream about breaching its cold fortifications.

The subtle scent of her allure wafted from within. In his minds eye he could see her sillhouette, swaying to the rhytm of a slow song, edge of the long dress sweeping across the marble floor. Her eyes the colour of emeralds, hair long strong and gleaming within confines of the dimmly illuminated hall. Her steps were light, her pressence both alluring and ethereal, tempting but always beyond the reach. He needed her. He wanted her like a junkie craves the promise of oblivion. She was right before him. What stood in his way, the only thing barring his path were the walls of a castle.
