Chapter 21: Zhuge Ling'er
The turbulent night had finally passed, and when Ye Feng got up from bed in a daze the next morning, he heard the dormitory room buzzing with discussion.
"Little Ye, what's going on last night? You went back to the dormitory by yourself without saying a word to us. It was Lao Da who ran back and saw you were there before he called us back. We thought you were playing a prank! But this morning, several dead bodies were found in the school parking lot, and another one was found in the shed near the comprehensive building. They were all shot to death, it's so terrifying! The police are investigating now!" Dormitory Old Six leaned over with a big face and asked in a low voice, "Were these people killed by Long Ge's men?"
Ye Feng didn't respond to Lao Liu's question, but he was a bit nervous in his heart. If the investigation really reached him, how should he deal with it? When encountering such things, the unpleasant things that happened the night before were all thrown behind his mind. Ye Feng knew that no matter how much misunderstanding Dragon Brother had towards him, he couldn't regain it and could only let time prove that he didn't have any ill intentions towards him.
"Hey, just tell us, we promise we won't say anything." Lao Liu still refused to give in.
"You don't need to know about this!" Ye Feng pushed away Lao Liu's big pancake face.
"Excuse me, is this building 203?" At the entrance, a tall and slender policewoman looked up at the door number, then stood outside the open door and knocked. She looked like she was in her early twenties, and although she was wearing a police uniform, it couldn't hide her beauty, but rather added to her elegance.
"Who are you looking for?" Dormitory Old Six seemed a bit eager.
"Excuse me, is Ye Feng in this dormitory?" The policewoman's gaze had already fallen on Ye Feng, and it was clear that she had recognized him, but she still asked.
"It's me, what's up?" Ye Feng nodded slightly towards her.
"Are you available to give us some time now?" The female police officer looked a bit shy.
"No problem, let's find a place!" Ye Feng nodded and readily agreed.
The other men in the dormitory unanimously raised their middle fingers behind Ye Feng's back.
"Damn, being handsome is really different. I want to go to Korea for plastic surgery!" Dormitory Old Six exclaimed after losing sight of Ye Feng's figure.
The policewoman brought Ye Feng to a study room. What made Ye Feng feel strange was that there were many police officers standing at the door of this study room.
"You don't have to think it's strange, this classroom has been borrowed by us and is being used as an interrogation room." The policewoman saw Ye Feng's expression and guessed the doubts in his mind.
"You must have already known that there was a shooting incident at your school, right?" The policewoman let Ye Feng sit down and directly entered the topic, completely losing the shyness from earlier and instead appearing quite professional.
"Got up early and heard it!" Ye Feng nodded.
"Did you know about this thing last night or did you just find out this morning?" The female police officer's question was a bit tricky.
"I just knew this morning, I heard it from our dorm's senior!" Ye Feng pretended to be somewhat puzzled, "Why are you asking?"
"Where were you last night?" The policewoman continued to ask.
"In the dormitory!" Ye Feng replied without batting an eyelid.
"Always in the dorm? Never went out?" The female police officer's tone was clearly one of skepticism.
"I think I've been to the bathroom three times, or maybe it was two, I don't remember." Ye Feng raised his head and looked at the ceiling, as if trying to recall something. "Is there a problem?"
The beautiful policewoman stared at Ye Feng for a while after not getting the answer she wanted in this series of questions, and Ye Feng also sized up her opponent with indifference.
Finally, it was the female police officer who spoke up first, "Do you know Dragon Brother?"
"Recognize!" Ye Feng did not deny.
The female police officer looked at Ye Feng with some surprise and wrote something in her notebook.
"Are you and he very close?" The female police officer continued to ask tentatively.
"Just an ordinary friend, not very close, he's a big brother in the underworld, I'm just a student, we don't have much to do with each other, just occasionally met and had dinner together a few times." Ye Feng said casually.
"But according to our information, he's been quite taken care of you!" The female police officer revealed a strange smile on her face.
"Maybe it's because we hit it off," Yefeng shook his head with a wry smile.
"What do you think of Dragon Brother?" The female police officer stopped writing and showed a little girl-like expression.
"He... He is very generous, does things with great momentum, and thinks about problems from a distant perspective, he's a great leader!" Ye Feng was somewhat puzzled as to why the female police officer asked such a question, but still gave his own answer.
"This evaluation should be quite high, right?" The female police officer nodded as if she had expected it, "Do you think he could have done this thing?"
"I'm not clear," Ye Feng shook his head and smiled slightly.
"What do you and he usually talk about?" The female police officer continued to ask such strange questions.
"Just casual chat, talking about myself, talking about life, talking about ideals, and then expressing some of my own views on current events... That's about it." Yefeng smiled.
"Hasn't he ever told you about things related to the underworld?" The female police officer picked up the water-based pen in her hand again, ready to take down some notes.
"No, he would never tell me something like this." Ye Feng shook his head.
"We've investigated your call records, before eight o'clock, someone called you, the number was Tie Zhe's, what did he say to you?" The female police officer's question became even more piercing.
"There's nothing, just a normal greeting. Uncle Tie has always been concerned about me and we occasionally keep in touch." The female police officer still couldn't see any abnormality on Ye Feng's face.
"Didn't he say anything special to you? For example, was there any special action or did he tell you something?" the policewoman continued to remind.
"No, just a normal greeting, same as before, nothing special." Ye Feng shook his head.
"Do you know who died this time?" The female police officer's question was completely speechless, and she asked about something that even Ye Feng, the real culprit of the case, wasn't quite clear about.
"It's unclear, I've only heard that there are a few in the parking lot and one in the pile of debris. How many died in total?" Ye Feng asked back, wondering if the bodies in the park not far from the school had been discovered.
"Five are dead, four of them are not very well-known thugs, and the one in the pile of junk is a trusted lieutenant of Niu Xing's, Mo Niu. He has some reputation on the road, it's said he knows kung fu, but was still killed." The female police officer glanced at the door, then lowered her voice to say.
"What's the use of Kung Fu? This is the era of hot weapons! No matter how high you jump, it's still a matter of one bullet?" Ye Feng disdainfully curled his lip, although he had already witnessed the Bull's Kung Fu.
"Cut it out, you've never seen real kung fu, once you have, you'll know! The policewoman glared at Ye Feng, "Alright, I've finished asking my questions, you can return to your dorm now!"
"Officer MM, may I ask what your name is?" Ye Feng couldn't help but tease her before he left.
"My name is Zhuge Ling'er, remember it! If someone bullies you in the future, come to the criminal police team and find me!" The policewoman clenched her small fist at Ye Feng, "I'll help you beat him up then!"
"Alright, we'll beat him up together then!" Ye Feng raised an eyebrow and turned around to leave.
