Chapter 2: Toxic

  Act 2: Battle Highway

  As giant, robot bees and workers shoot at Tails, Sonic grabs a worker's cannon and aims it at the bees, shooting them down. As they start shooting at him, Sonic runs behind different robots, making the others destroy their own kind.

  Sonic: What's the matter?! Can't shoot me?! I'm Over Here!

  After a bit, Tails joins him.

  Tails: If you guys really want the Emerald, then come take it!

  Just then, the robots stop attacking them and surround the two as the sound of crushing metal becomes clearer.

  Tails: W-What's that sound?

  Sonic: That's No good.

  Before long, a big, robotic skunk, that has blue and green chemicals flowing through its body, jumps through another robot and faces the two.

  Rank Skunk: Lord of the Putrid

  Tails: Whoa!

  Sonic: So, that's where that stink's from.

  The skunk spews toxins at the two as Sonic picks Tails up and runs away.

  Sonic: I'll Play With You Some Other Time!

  The skunk dashes after the two as it spews toxins all over.

  Tails: It's Coming This Way And Shooting That Goo!

  Sonic: I can hear it!... Hey! Do you trust me?!

  Tails: Of course I-

  Sonic throws Tails into the air.

  Tails: AH!

  Just then, Sonic turns around and shoves the Chaos Emerald through the skunk's metallic skull. As the steel beast falls, Sonic raises his arms in triumph.

  Sonic: Score One For Sonic!

  Tails lands on the metal floor.

  Tails: Don't celebrate yet!

  As robots swarm the two, they run away to the plane and take off.

  Tails: When did you grab the Emerald?

  Sonic: Doesn't matter when I got it if you didn't notice it.

  Tails: I-I'm sorry. I'll pay more attention next time.

  Sonic: Hey! I'm not ragging on you. After all, you let me beat that big beast with it.

  Tails: Huh...

  Sonic: So, you got the next map somewhere?

  Tails: Had to leave it down there, but I put the coordinates into my GPS.

  Sonic: Soooo?

  Tails: We know where the third Emerald is.

  Sonic: Alright, Tails! Let's regroup with the others and then get the next one!

  Tails: Just what I was thinking!

  The two head back home. Later in the night, Fang calls Robotnik.

  Fang: The kids found another Emerald and they're gonna look for the third one tomorrow.

  Ivo: I've heard. They caused quite the scene at my chemical plant. However, I now have more than enough data on the Hedgehog to complete his rival.

  Fang: Rival? I thought you weren't killing these kids?

  Ivo: Whatever helps you sleep at night. Do you have the coordinates of their next search area?

  Fang: 'Course I do.
