Chapter 2, Ascended

  Chapter 2: Ascended to Immortality

"Chubby... Chubby..." Qin Hao woke up, still calling out "Chubby".

He shook his head and lay down again, for he was in great pain all over, as if he had fallen from a cliff. He didn't realize until later that several of his ribs were broken.

But before he could even curse, he suddenly discovered that something was off: "Wasn't I in an ancient tomb? Where is this place, with its beautiful scenery and excellent feng shui? The air here is really fresh. Could it be that I've died? Am I going to ascend to heaven?"

Qin Hao climbed up and leaned against a nearby bluestone, as if thinking about something, sizing up the surroundings, as if wondering why he had injuries on his body. If he were a ghost, he wouldn't feel pain, would he? Suddenly, he thought of something: "The Dragon Ascending to Immortality Bureau, that ancient tomb was actually the Dragon Ascending to Immortality Bureau... could it be that I've ascended to immortality?"

The cemetery is located in a valley, which is originally a Feng Shui treasure land for a trapped dragon. However, it's absolutely not suitable for burial. If someone were to be buried there, their descendants would definitely receive blessings after several hundred years. But once the dragon energy is completely locked up and eventually condenses into solitary yin, it will become a calamity for future generations.

If it were just an ordinary tomb, it wouldn't form a village of spirits. But most importantly, there was already a large tomb there from the beginning.

According to Qin Hao's Dragon Seeking Method, it was a situation where the dragon rose to immortality. The person buried inside used the dragon's momentum to absorb the vital energy and yang energy around him, setting up a nine-palace array in the tomb, using a bronze coffin to suppress it, in order to prevent the tomb owner from becoming a hungry ghost due to isolation, finally using a wooden coffin for isolation.

"To be able to do this, it's absolutely not an ordinary person. Moreover, they deliberately left nine positions, calculated that a few would come in and end up as stone statues, forming the true Nine Palaces Formation, triggering the Ascension Bureau." Qin Hao finally understood.

But he wondered, who was the mastermind behind such a grand scheme, and which old immortal was buried there. Most importantly, he thought about all the historical figures of the Han Dynasty, but none of them wore masks to survive, especially that mural was even stranger.

"Bad luck, I shouldn't have come to this place of confinement." Qin Hao regretted it a bit. When he was young, his adoptive father asked a Mr. from the neighboring village to calculate his fate, saying that he had a great calamity in his life, and could not live in places surrounded by mountains on all sides, otherwise there would be a risk of premature death. However, as long as he passed this great calamity, everything would go smoothly afterwards, which is what people call "great difficulties do not die, must have good fortune later".

At first, Qin Hao didn't believe it, but his adoptive father insisted on moving with him to a place without mountains and settled down. At that time, Qin Hao still didn't believe it, but after obtaining the dragon-seeking method, he also believed it. Every time he fought, he remembered it in his heart, but he never thought that in the end, he would unknowingly enter the lonely and gloomy dragon's lair.

"It's all fate, sigh. No, to be exact, it wasn't me who ascended to immortality, but that tomb owner instead. What's going on here? Where did fatty go? And what about that cheap woman? How did this guy follow us without us noticing at all? Damn it."

Qin Hao thought to himself, but suddenly he discovered something very strange - he was wearing an ancient long gown, looking like a Taoist robe from TV, gray and black in color, earthy and rustic. He was instantly stunned: "Have I traveled through time?"

He suddenly thought of the countless scenes in YY, and he couldn't withstand this blow. He quickly looked around and saw a small pond in the distance. He endured the pain on his body and crawled over, and when he saw his reflection in the water, he almost fainted. This face was like him, but it was absolutely not him, and how could he possibly have long hair?

His face was filled with despair, if others had crossed over, they would probably be jumping for joy, but he had crossed over without that kind of mood. Firstly, because he still had a foster father to take care of, he suddenly became uneasy, his foster father had worked hard for so many years, raising him up, although not born to him, but treated him very well. What he worried about most was that the ancient tomb would be discovered by others, while his true body remained unchanged.

Logically speaking, he should have broken the Dragon Ascension Bureau to be right, otherwise it wouldn't be him who crossed over, but someone else, which means his body probably didn't turn into a stone statue. That mountain village tomb raid is a good place, usually no one goes there, but what's scary is that some adventure-loving backpackers might go there and discover the ancient tomb and corpse, and definitely report it to the police, who will investigate the identity, and I estimate his adoptive father will be so angry he'll die.

"No, no way, I want to go back......" Qin Hao anxiously turned around in all directions, but everywhere was a cliff, not even a path to be seen, another trapped dragon land.

He had no idea what this place was, but he knew it absolutely wasn't Earth, because the environment on Earth wasn't this good. This was definitely a feng shui treasure land, not inferior to those ancient imperial mausoleums in China. To think that such a place didn't have any graves, this in itself was strange.

He clutched his own ribs, Qin Hao still held a thread of hope, and made a heavy vow: "This is the Nine Hells, I will return!"

But as soon as he finished speaking, his body went "crack" and the bone that had just been reset dislocated again, causing him to roll around on the ground in pain. Before they could even deal with it, a golden light suddenly descended from the sky, like a human figure, circling around Qin Hao for a while, as if hesitating about something, and finally disappeared into Qin Hao's brain. In Qin Hao's mind, a jade butterfly-shaped thing flashed a purple light, and then absorbed the golden light.

At this time, Qin Hao didn't notice anything because he felt that his brain had suddenly become filled with many things - fragmented and disjointed images. He suddenly felt a severe headache, as if his head was being torn apart, and it seemed like his soul was about to split in two. However, amidst these disjointed images, he also came to understand some things. But he really couldn't hold on any longer, it was as if he was going to die, going to die, really going to die...

Just as he was becoming conscious, the jade butterfly-shaped thing in his mind emitted a purple glow, perfectly merging his soul with this body. Everything seemed so natural, as if his soul had always been meant to exist within this body...

"Am I dead?" Qin Hao woke up again, still thinking he was dead, but the pain on his body made him feel that he wasn't dead, yet there were many more things in his mind.

"My god, you're too shameless! I'm actually a fool in front of him... Fool! Damn it..." Qin Hao was speechless. Others who cross over are all with rich and powerful young masters, even if they're useless, at least they have some cheating abilities. But he's not only poor and white (i.e., without any special skills), but also ended up being a fool in his past life. His dad isn't even as good as Li Gang."

All he remembered was that this was a world of cultivating immortals, and he was originally just a miscellaneous person from a sect. In the end, he didn't know what happened, but somehow he was thrown off a cliff, clearly someone wanted him dead.

"What treasure could this fool have that's worth someone else's while to remember?" This body used to be a fool, but he wasn't a fool. Anyone who gets murdered must have some secret dealings or seen something they shouldn't have. But fools wouldn't kill even if they saw something, so it must be about some treasure.

As soon as he thought of this, Qin Hao's heart finally got some comfort: "Heaven has not been unfair to me after all."

As he rummaged through his own body, the more excited he became, but apart from a few well-fed lice, there wasn't a single feather. He was suddenly stunned and thought to himself: "This guy's sexual orientation can't be abnormal, right?"

As soon as he thought of this, Qin Hao's whole body broke out in goosebumps, and he touched his lower body, finally letting out a sigh of relief: "But this guy has no treasure, no wisdom, and not even a bit of heaven-defying martial power, so why is he being pursued? This is simply a three-talentless waste."

At last, he summoned up his courage and faced reality, looking up at the sky and cursing loudly: "There is no justice in heaven!"

The sound echoed through the valley, but no one replied to him. Looking at the steep cliff, it was at least a thousand meters high. Qin Hao held onto his last bit of hope and dragged his battered body along, hoping to stumble upon some kind of lucky break or perhaps find some martial arts manual that would allow him to cultivate his skills and soar through the skies in this strange realm, where he could live a life of luxury and comfort.

It was clear that he had come up empty-handed, with nothing but stones, trees and unknown plants to show for it. There wasn't even a bird's egg on the trees, let alone fruit. In the end, Qin Hao gave up and could only scoop water from the pond to wash his face and wipe away the bloodstains. Under the scorching sun, he fell into deep thought.

After a long time, Qin Hao's heart calmed down: "Am I destined to be ordinary all my life? Am I really without any luck? Can't get rich by working hard, and even after crossing over, I'm still destined to be ordinary? No, I won't let that happen. I want to go home, I want to cultivate, I want to reign supreme."

What he said was bold and confident, but afterwards his heart felt cold and chilly. The time-traveling had brought him to this desolate cliff, where birds wouldn't even shit. In the end, he didn't find any secret recipe, but instead got trapped inside.

As the sun sets in the west, he feels hopeless. He has surveyed the situation of this valley and it is absolutely a place with no way out. There is no need to look for it anymore. To get out, one can only climb this thousand-meter-high cliff. If he had all his tomb-raiding equipment, he might be able to climb up, but unfortunately, he has nothing.

"Save me, save me, save me......" Qin Hao's mournful howl echoed through the valley, this was his last hope. This was a world of cultivators, Qin Hao thought that he might encounter some high-ranking master who would take him in as a disciple due to his extraordinary innate talent, and maybe even bestow upon him some precious treasures or techniques.

"Oh no................" Qin Hao shouted until his mouth was dry, but not a single wise person came over. He realized that this body's previous life was an extremely unlucky good-for-nothing, even more unfortunate than himself on Earth.

Just when he was starving, he suddenly saw a faint light flashing in the sky, and he immediately cheered up, seeing several people wearing Taoist robes flying over.

"Big brother, that guy is a mortal, falling from such a height would have turned him into mush already. You guys are definitely here for nothing, don't vomit when you see the pulp later."

"I know, my father told me to come and take a look. This stupid master is not easy to deal with. Now he's searching everywhere for him. If he's still alive, we'll all be in trouble later on. And I heard from the person in charge that there are sounds coming from the back mountain valley..."

Qin Hao was almost speechless, good grief, what's called bad luck, this is it. Instead of calling for help, he ended up calling the enemy over. Although he was an idiot in his past life, he was still very familiar with these people's voices. He quickly found a discreet place to hide.

"People in this world can actually fly." Qin Hao was somewhat incredulous, but from these words combined with the overall situation in the mountains, he drew a conclusion.

"Life is trapped in a desperate situation!!!" That is to say, his life's great calamity has not yet ended.........
