Chapter II: Trial at Moonlight

The night descended upon us, the moon's light shining right on us. I found myself standing right next to Alex and her team, staring at this dark entrance into the ruin. Howls, thuds, a lot of scary noises are coming from that ruin, but despite that, Alex is ready to push in.

Alex, with her commanding presence, addressed her squad with authority. Her words felt like a beacon of reassurance, helping cast a light in the dark I feel right now. Although I know I’ll be useless here unless I find my powers, I forced myself to feel determination as she spoke to us.

With Alex leading the charge, we began our journey into the ruins. Hearing the echoes of our footsteps and gear, the air thick and mixed with ancient magic.

As we walk deeper into the ruin's entrance, we encountered our first challenge. A pack of magic beasts, their eyes fueled with rage. Without hesitation, Alex and her squad sprang into action, their movements coordinated as they engaged the creatures in combat. As they take down these magical wolves easily, I am trying to manage with the sword I have. Taking every hit this beast throws at me while I only scratch it. I struggle and struggle fighting this beast, finally Alex comes in and takes it down for me.

As we continued our adventure through the ruin, I couldn’t help but think of how useless I was during that fight. Already needing saving on wolves they took down so easily.. It doesn’t matter how much I try, it truly seems I may be a zero.

We continue walking and everything felt weird, it was quiet and all I could hear was our footsteps echoing off the walls. It made me cautious, I looked around scared. Then my gaze caught something, a pair of ogres.. The ogre on the left carrying a purple gem and the one on the right carrying a big battle axe.

With a vicious roar, both ogres charged toward us, their massive forms intimidating me. Alex and her team, braced themselves for the fight that was inevitable. As the beasts closed in, the sounds of swords, and spells sparking through the air made everything so much more intense.

The battle was fierce, with members of Alex's squad falling one by one under the rage of the ogres. Despite my best efforts, I found myself overwhelmed by the pure power of these ogres. A hit from the ogre sends me across the cave, though still holding on. I feel the pain from that hit.

Amidst the chaos, I spotted a glare under all the rubble. The purple gem the ogre was holding.I run towards it, thinking nothing of my own safety. Moving the rubble around and finally grabbing the gem, I noticed a crack in it and its aura immediately engulfed me. A light purple aura starts radiating around my body, then the gem suddenly disintegrates. The sensation was odd, disorienting me as I struggled to make sense of what was happening. Suddenly, the fist of an ogre connected to my body, knocking me unconscious.
