Elven Lies II Chapter 74 : The Ring of Chaos

  ACT IVTHE CIVIL WAR

CHAPTER 74THE RING OF CHAOS “Oh!” Astonished, the mysterious man with weird fetish said in perverted tone, “This little foreign god can resist the pressure.”

However, Hans was in the middle of processing what he had heard. He gnced behind as Delimira warned him of the existence before him.

“Damn! How will I outrun an ancient. Talk some sense Deli.” He cried inside, hopeless. But, since no one had died yet, it was clear that at least for a while his friends and family will stay safe.

Relieving a little, his eyes narrowed, and he focused on the ethereal being beside the two Ancients. It felt like he had met this person before, but he couldn’t quite pce it. He pushed aside his fears and acted tough, warning the Ancients, “This isn’t your nd to get involved in Didn’t you see me butchering thousands—”

“Even if,” the perverted looking ancient, interrupted, “And I’m stressing, EVEN IF, by some miracles, you can reignite that fme of Inheritance. You’ll still be no match for us, You imbecile.”

The other Ancient added, “And we have heard our fare share of this damned power so we also do know its weakness, like a back of our hand.”

He paused taking a good look at the bloodline all ancients abhorred and said further, “You won’t be, no you can’t activate that power. You don’t even understand how it works.” He expined as if he was mocking Hans, “Several conditions must met to activate that so called unified state and when the reason through which the power is called upon does not exist. It will go away, turning once invincible existence into a weakling like you. Its the most unreliable power one can ask for.”

Hans mented those words, It was true that he didn’t understand how he activated the unified state but he realised very well that these ancients were talking true. He was weighing his options of how he can weasel out of this while keeping him and everyone safe but nothing was coming up. “Damn it, what do I do—”

“Lets give our final greetings to the st imperial.” The greedy ancient, gestured for the levitating ghost to move forward.

“Oh! Thanks a lot.” The ghost whispered, “I wanted this for a long-long time. You’ve been safe under the eyes of that monster of Concordia, but not here, little Parvian. Here you will die and I wish I could see your bastard father’s face as I torture you to death—”

“Who the fuck are you?” Hans questioned, he didn’t felt right to be the target of someone’s animosity without knowing why. “What the hell is your problem—”

“Problem… you bastard. My problem is this.” The ghost pointed to himself, “your bitch of a father had turned me into this. That’s how he treated me for my years of friendship to him, all because I wasn’t born a Parvian.”

  “Nonsense. You must’ve done something—”

“All I did was fulfil his needs and when I wanted the book of immortality I got this in return… neither life nor death would suit you well - these were the words he said to me.”

“The fuck you want from me, then. Die and get your revenge from my father in underworld you bastard.” Hans cursed inside, he knew his physical attacks would just pass right through him since a mana path of seedBullet is already going though him.

From what he understood, the ghost seemed like a mage and if he could conjure spells, then it was over for Hans. “What should I do, should I wait for someone to come.. no… we were the reinforcement, damn it.”

He swiftly took out his communication orb, “Homar come bac—”

“Hey! Hey! I said no cheating.” The perverted ancient, exploded the communication orb with just his gnce.

“What does it matter if few knights come to my aid, you guys are Ancients. They will be just ants to you, don’t they?” Hans asked, hopelessness in his eyes.

“At least this bastard know to revere us,” The greedy ancient spoke. “Unlike his spiteful father. ” he added.

“They really aren’t in a hurry to kill us, but why? If it was me, I’d have ended us without talking. So why?” Hans was asking questions but no answers were coming out. Only gring eyes of the ghost were staring at him intently as his etherial appearance was becoming clearer.

A man with shredded cloak, a skull face with his inner muscles intact. It looked like someone had skinned him alive. “Damn it, father.” Hans mented. “Just what did he do to you be… this violent. He feels like a grim reaper himself.”

And when he turned fully visible, Hans pointed, “okay, this ghost wants to kill me for revenge. What do you want? Same?”

“Oh, we are just here for fun and restock supplies—”

“Supplies? Isn’t everything in Madaruka? It is called heaven in the mortal world, isn’t it?”

“A heaven? This bastard. Madaruka is a prison you son of a bitch. A prison that your kind had us imprisoned.” The perverted looking ancient ranted in fury.

“Sixteen be silent.” The other ancient halted him to say further.

This was totally different from Hans and other knew. A paradise who everyone yearned was a prison, it feel like total nonsense to him but when he focused on their statement, ‘your kind’ rang a bell in his head.

“Wait a minute isn’t Ancestor Dietrich told me he was the first Ancient. Did he do this?” Hans shrug off his random thoughts, it looked like the ghost was ready to make its move so he got alerted in an instant.

“Just a st thing,” Hans pointed, “I have to confirm first, what happens if I win against that Ghost? Will you take his role then?”

“No, we were told to not get involve. SO YOU ARE FREE TO GO IF YOU CAN DEFEAT CAESAR. THIS IS I SAY UPON MY HONOUR.” The greedy ancient promised.

“Fine Caesar or whatever. Come at me— woosh!” Hans lit up in an instant, the sor energy keeping up with his rage. He was tired and wanted to end this in one fell swoop.

“Hmm…. I thought so, you have mastered the second book of fate. I’ll take both as my spoils.” The ghost raised his hand and summoned the most terrifying spell of any world mage, the eighth circle sanctuary.

  “Monochrome world”

As he said those word, the whole world around Hans turned into the shades of bck and white.

“Hehe!” This is what was hidden in the half I tore from book of immortality. Damned that Xandor, had to intercept it from my puppets in Sunfall. Whatever, with the first two books, I’ll have the power to decimate him and get the complete book of immortality. I’ll have the three books—”

“Stop yapping you ghost.” The greedy ancient halted his victory thoughts, “don’t you forget you promised us the ring of chaos.”

As Hans heard those words, he momentarily forgot that he was inside the sanctuary of an eighth circle mage. He instantly pointed out, “I know where the ring of chaos is. You just have to kill the ghost and I happily tell you?” He tried negotiating against the odds.

For the first time, the ancients genuinely became interested in Hans. While Rudolf from behind who actually tasted the misery from the ring of chaos shouted, “Boy, its not worth it—”

“Shut up old man, your life worth to me more than any stupid ring.” Hans revolted, and turned to ancients, “so, do we have a deal?”

“Its you, you moron,” Caesar pointed at Hans, “Inside, you hold an elderwood’s heart, an obscene amount of divine mana. Don’t you understand, the ring of chaos is the thing that is binding those together.”

When Hans remained puzzled, Caesar continued, “How do you think, you can use void zone, control every mana particle. This does not comes under wood category stupid. Hell, your every spell, it doesn’t come under the category of wood magic. This is the inherent ability of ring of chaos that made Samson who he was.”

And if those words weren’t enough, Caesar hammered the st fact, which even convinced ancients. “Why do you think he never used the ring in the elven war?Even when he was dying, he just couldn’t, because it was fuelling life in his dear son. That precious power is just being wasted keeping you alive.

“CONNECT ARAT: come save my ass old geezer. There are two ancients drooling over me.”

  Message not sent.

  Severe interference

“Darn, there is no way these ancients would let us go after hearing this. They want the ring itself.” Hans became even more cautious until Caesar spoke again.

“And I’m the only one who knows how to extract that from you.” He pointed at the ancients, “He is mine.”

“Fuck! I need to kill him in instant. So these ancients have no choice but to leave me alive at least for a while.” Hans mumbled as he gnced behind, “I can buy their lives leveraging myself.”

He thought hard, this might be his st cry before his freedom finally vanishes. “Ancestor, please come. Your st descendant might soon meet your other descendants.”
