Soul Contract (Part 2)

  -{Clint}-

Clint took a deep breath from his pce and knelt on the ground, his form shrouded from sight. Two of his fellow members of the ordership that had yet to be named were next to him.

His eyes took in their target. Borgin and Burkes. More specifically, his eyes focused on the wizards and witches just standing around.

Lord Zephyrion had given us a basic pn with what he knew of Borgins and Burkes. He had then ordered them as a show of loyalty to carry out the robbery by themselves.

He clenched his wand, his mind sharpening. Clint was determined to prove himself. He had finally been given the chance he had wanted. This was the moment.

The wizards and witches in there were undoubtedly trained. As security, Clint knew that they would be held up to a certain standard. Meaning they would have a rger spell repertoire and more training.

Clint clenched his teeth. He only knew the basics from Hogwarts. He knew a few dozen spells in total, unfortunately not many knew the importance of learning as much as you could at the magical school until after you left.

He sent a nod to the other team. The other team was being led by the witch, Alissa. He suppressed the competitiveness he felt.

One of the witches acting as a guard came up to the window, her eyes looking around bored. It made sense, she didn’t expect anything to happen and why would it?

Had this been before, he wouldn’t have dared to even look at this pce wrongly. The owners were very influential after all. Even with a squad like this, he wouldn’t have got through with it.

Having the back he did now though, it changed everything. He had power backing his moves. A wizard who was able to wipe through Auror squads with ease.

It was liberating and thrilling. Clint felt invincible.

A barrier slowly covered the area and Clint sprung into action, the signal had been given. The sound barrier had been risen.

  He aimed his wand.

Clint was the only person who knew this charm, so he had been elected as the second signal to attack.

  “Finestra.” He whispered.

A bright pale blue bolt of light zipped out from his wand, the Witch’s eyes barely able to widen in surprise as the windows shattered easily just as the spell came into contact.

She could only raise a hastily cast ‘Protego’ as bolts of red rained down on her position.

Clint picked up on the quiet muttering of spells from his associates as they worked around him.

"Incendio." A small burst of fme shot forward.

"Depulso." Another spell forced the objects inside to shoot forward, clearing a path.

"Expelliarmus." A bolt of red shot forward.

“Diffindo,” Clint whispered, the arc of magic being the final straw for the poor Witch. Who had suffered the brunt of the onsught unprepared?

Her shield shattered and she screamed as a massive cut was gouged on her body. The scream was cut off as a ‘Depulso’ hit her, sending the woman flying through the air.

By now, the other wizards were already at her side. Hastily cast spells being shot back.

Clint grimaced, both at the magic drain from casting a high-powered spell and the cut on her body. He wasn’t used to truly harming his targets.

The area was lit by the sudden shower of spells firing from each side, the witch who had worked the counter had joined the two wizards firing back.

Clint, like the others. Were forced to take cover or cast shielding spells. Alissa cast came to stand beside him. Her eyes locked onto the sight of the witch on the ground.

The witch was crawling to her wand, which had been dropped when she was hit. Alissa grimaced but resolved herself.

  Her wand swished.

  “Stupefy!”

A stunning bolt shot from her wand, striking the witch squarely in the back. The witch’s body went limp immediately, colpsing with a faint thud as her outstretched fingers fell just inches from her wand.

Alissa barely avoided a spell that was quickly cast by one of the wizards who noticed her, the woman nearly stumbling back.

One of the wizards who was close by shooting spells at the security wasn’t as lucky. Ropes successfully wrapped around his body, binding his arms in pce.

Clint managed to take advantage of this, casting a ‘Diffindo’. Alissa quickly followed his intention. Swishing her wand, a bright bolt of light left her wand as she cast her own ‘Immobilus’

The security wizard reacted quickly, swatting the first spell away and then being forced to put up a shielding spell to block from one of their acquaintances who had cast an ‘Incendio.’

Her spell hit against the barrier and Clint followed through, casting more spells as fast as he could manage. The security wizard was able to cast an ‘Everte Statum’ that sent one of their own flying back. Only to fall prey to a ‘Stupefy’ cast by her.

Clint’s eyes caught sight of Lord Zephyrion lounging nearby, his eyes watching the spells fly around with rapt attention. As if the spells themselves were fascinating.

The four of them that remained were able to barely overwhelm the remaining witch and wizard. One of them being incapacitated in the process.

Clint finished it off by casting an ‘Incarcerous’ wrapping the witch in ropes.

The alleyway was bathed in darkness once more. With the light of the multitude of spells that had been continuously cast dying out.

He took a breath, adrenaline pumping through his veins as he looked around the destroyed shop. Items were scattered around and most of the furniture was destroyed.

“Alissa, go unbind Jerry. Then check on the others. Ted and I will go loot this pce.” Clint ordered.

She nodded hesitantly, her eyes looking to Zephyrion for approval.

  He nodded.

  -{Zephyrion Gremory}-

  That had been enlightening.

Getting my hands on those spells was something I needed to do before I left. Some may wonder why I wouldn’t just recreate them with my Imagination Magic.

Technically, I could replicate the effects from observation alone but it would drain a rge amount of demonic energy and it would require careful precision to get it right.

It's one thing to copy the visible result and it’s another to fully mimic the spellwork without wasting power in the process.

Learning the spell would allow me to learn its functions. Which would make the spells cost tremendously less. It would also cost a lot less magic to simply use their system of magic.

For now, though, I watched the Witch go around checking on the others while Clint went with another wizard to ransack the pce.

This was certainly the easiest and most basic way to go about this.

If wizarding society was going to name me a Dark Lord. I was going to act like one.
