  "Miss Arc! You as well!"

And to think, he'd just got done making sure that Yang smoothed things over with Team JNPR. Cole resists the urge to sigh, even as Joan Arc, the in-over-her-head team leader of Juniper, jolts upright like a rabbit before carefully beginning to make her way down to the arena floor in the center of the room.

Admittedly, Cole didn't have much experience with Joan. And when he'd told Bke and Weiss that he felt Team JNPR had a lot of potential, he wasn't really talking about their leader. No, it was more based on Nikos, Valkyrie, and Ren. Sure, an idiot might mistakenly lump Mun Ren into the same boat as Joan Arc just because both women were quiet, but Cole wasn't an idiot.

Mun's quiet nature was the type that came with a composed, poised confidence in her own skills. Joan's quiet nature came from a nervous, mouse-like energy born from a ck of skill.

The blonde leader of Team JNPR often acted like she'd never trained a day in her life before arriving at Beacon. Hell, sometimes it was like she hadn't even had her Aura unlocked before arriving here. And no, the irony of such thoughts was not lost on Cole, who hadn't had conventional training or his Aura unlocked until shortly before Glynda enrolled him at Beacon.

The difference was, Cole had a couple things going for him that poor Joan did not. One, he had a Sembnce that literally made him stronger the more he creampied women. Incrementally, sure, but it added up in the long run all the same. Two, he had Glynda Goodwitch's private tutoring to bring him up to speed, and needless to say, the woman was quite the taskmaster in that regard.

By comparison, Joan had Pyrrha, but the Mistralian Champion couldn't exactly compare to Goodwitch's tutege, no matter how capable she was.

In the end, this wasn't going to be a very fair fight and Cole could tell everyone knew it. Joan, who refused to meet his eyes even as they stood facing one another in the ring, knew it. Pyrrha, who in stark contrast was staring a hole into the side of Cole's head from up in the stands, knew it. Even the peanut gallery knew it.

"Hah! Arc is going to get her ass handed to her!"

Cole flicks his eyes up and to the side, where Cardin Winchester has opened his big fat mouth. The man is… well, he's certainly proven himself to be something else since they all started here at Beacon. A blowhard. A braggart. And an all around unpleasant person who liked to punch down as much as possible whenever he thought he could get away with it.

"Mister Winchester, do keep the foulmouthed nguage to a minimum."

  "Sure, sorry Professor!"

Like right now. Sure, their Battle Professor had told Cardin off, but he hadn't been punished in any way. Perhaps because the Professor doesn't have much faith in Joan's abilities either. If anything, Cole would say that the man doesn't seem to think Joan deserves to be leader of Team JNPR.

Truth be told, Cole himself isn't sure why Goodwitch made Joan a team leader. The poor blonde would clearly have been better off being taken under her teammates' wing with someone like Pyrrha in charge instead.

At the same time though, Cole didn't much like people like Cardin or their Professor. It reminded him far too much of some of the hazing he'd had to endure as the youngest and least among Junior's men.

  "Hey."

Joan flinches at his voice, looking up at him almost timidly as he gives her a smile.

  "Do your best, alright?"

Those blue eyes of hers go wide and round and after a moment, she hesitantly nods her head, seeming to take his words to heart. At the same time…

"Mister Cobalt, Miss Arc… ready? Begin!"

Cole lifts up The Long Memory and watches as Joan does the same with her sword and shield. Instead of leaping forward and going on the offensive immediately, he moves in slowly, circling her and watching as she mimics him. Her stance is shaky, but there are some foundations there… foundations clearly in the process of being built by one Pyrrha Nikos, who is watching this fight with clenched teeth no doubt.

He could destroy those foundations. He could tear down everything Pyrrha had built and leave Joan beaten and bruised on the ground. He could make her regret ever coming to Beacon, while at the same time earning Nikos' enmity.

Perhaps that was exactly what the Battle Professor wanted to happen. But if that was the case, he should have sent Cardin against Joan instead. Cole… Cole isn't about to take everything he's learned throughout his life on the streets combined with the crash course lessons from Glynda and use that shit on Joan Arc.

Finally, the blonde lunges forward, making the first move. Cole blocks with The Long Memory, grunting as Joan's sword cshes with the cane. He pushes her back lightly and even then she still stumbles a bit. She doesn't fall on her ass though, so he takes that as a win.

What follows… is an exercise in restraint. Cole is not pressed here, admittedly. Joan does her best, but he would have to sandbag a lot harder to actually let her make any real progress. That doesn't mean this can't be a learning experience though.

Cole isn't mentor material, and he certainly doesn't like talking to people. But you learn a lot on the streets not from words, but from actions. Encounters throughout his life with people bigger, stronger, and just all around tougher than him had taught Cole more lessons about survival than he could ever admit.

Dialing it back a little bit, he nevertheless tries to show Joan some of those same lessons throughout the spar, helping her in whatever way he can without making it too obvious.

Until finally, despite holding back a fair amount, Cole wins the match, knocking Joan's sword out of her hands and sending her Aura down into the red.

The air expels out of Joan's lungs and she begins to fall backwards onto her ass, but Cole is there with an outstretched hand before she fully can, grabbing her by the front of her shirt and yanking her back onto her feet where he lets go only after he's sure she has her bearings.

Then, he kicks her sword up into the air and catches it, holding the bde out to Joan hilt first. As Joan takes her sword back from Cole, she gives him a strange look, blushing profusely as she mumbles out thanks. Before he can respond, however, the Battle Professor cuts in.

"Mister Cobalt is our victor. Miss Arc, you still have quite a lot of training to do."

"Hah! No amount of training is going to make up for that little skill! Cobalt went easy on her!"

This time around, Cardin's words go unanswered by the Professor, leaving Joan to flinch and duck her head in shame.

  "Y-Yes sir…"

With that, the two of them leave the arena behind, going their separate ways back to their teams. Cole watches as Joan's team provides emotional support for the young blonde, only to find himself making eye contact with Pyrrha Nikos as she looks over at him.

To his surprise, the red head doesn't look angry or vengeful… instead, she gives him a nod of begrudging respect. Perhaps Pyrrha of all people could tell exactly what he'd been trying to do down in the ring. Only time will tell.

  Yang on the other hand…

"Damn. You really pyed with your food there, Cole. Kind of hypocritical to have me go over and make nice with them if you were just going to humiliate their leader like that, don't you think?"

Cole sighs and shakes his head, even as he takes his seat once more among his team.

"Wasn't trying to humiliate her, Yang. Was trying to help her."

Yang furrows her brow, prompting Bke to speak up.

"He gave her some much needed one on one training, Yang. She'd have to be a completely inept idiot to not have learned something from what just happened. Cole offered an olive branch. And I bet Nikos picked up on that, even if the other members of Team JNPR maybe didn't."

Yang gawks for a moment at Bke, before looking back at him with narrowed eyes.

"But… it was a spar. A proper match. If I found out someone was trying to teach me something during a spar like that, I know I would feel humiliated and embarrassed!"

Weiss finally interjects, the Schnee Heiress scoffing as she rolls her eyes from her seat.

"Not everyone is a total meathead like you, Xiao Long. Some people appreciate a helping hand. And someone like Arc… they need all the help they can get."

Cole nods, agreeing with both Bke and Weiss' takes. Arc… sometimes it felt like Joan Arc didn't even belong at Beacon. And that was coming from someone who had never intended to attend this 'institution of higher learning'. Even if they were all adults here and well on their way to becoming full-fledged hunters, there was still a vast gulf in experience for some of them.

He should know, given he was one of those pying catchup. But where Cole was steadily catching up and even matching some of his peers by this point, Joan still had a long way to go.

  "Meathead! Why-!"

With a sigh, Cole reaches out and grabs his partner's thigh under the desk. Yang freezes up mid-sentence and blushes hard as she squirms a little at his touch.

"This is about the reward, isn't it? You're still upset you missed out on whatever I would have given you if you'd defeated Nikos."

Squirming harder, Yang's first instinct is to deny it.

  "N-No… m-maybe… I don't know…"

But at least she's honest enough to immediately change her tune. Cole sighs and looks around to make sure nobody is paying them too much mind. The matches have continued down in the center of the massive room after all, and those are much more interesting than watching people who you can't hear talk.

Except, when he looks… both Joan and Pyrrha are looking over at them, the weirdoes. Joan at least is only sneaking furtive gnces, but Pyrrha is definitely staring. Cole meets their eyes, one after the other, first locking gazes with Joan until she turns her head away fully and doesn't look back, and then finally moving over to stare back at Pyrrha.

Finally, the red head averts her gaze, her cheeks coloring slightly at being caught out like that. Pyrrha Nikos was an intense woman, but her fame and success had left her socially stunted as well. Him doing the silent equivalent of calling her out for staring is enough to embarrass her and make her stop.

Once those two are no longer looking their way and Cole has made sure everyone else is focused on the match taking pce in the center of the room, he slides his hand from Yang's thigh up to her hair… and pulls her down out of her seat.

Yang squeaks uncharacteristically but doesn't otherwise protest or resist in any way as she slides under the desk right then and there. Fortunately, the desks here have fronts to them, leaving her completely concealed from the rest of the room's occupants.

Without missing a beat, Yang sidles up between Cole's thighs even as Bke and Weiss both steal gnces down at the blonde, clearly scandalized and jealous in equal measure. Yang, meanwhile, just grins up at Cole as she begins working open his pants to pull out his cocks.

"Going to give me another way to earn my reward, sir? Because I'm all too happy to do so~"

Cole smirks and gives her a small nod.

"Something like that. Go on Yang. Suck me dry… and make sure to swallow every st drop."

That was the reward he'd had in mind, after all. While he wasn't going to tell his team everything about his extracurricur activities, Cole figured he could put what he'd found out with Cinder and Emerald to use in helping his team 'grow' a little bit. Namely by imbibing his seed and getting boosts to their Aura that would only help them become stronger in the long run.

Yang, needless to say, doesn't need to be told twice. With his permission given, she happily takes his cock into her mouth and begins sucking him off right then and there. Sitting back in his chair, Cole pces a hand atop her head, his fingers pying with her blonde curls even as he watches the matches taking pce in the arena down below.

As his partner bobs up and down on his cock and Bke and Weiss try not to be too jealous of Yang's current position, Cole just smiles and enjoys the show.
