Chapter 41: The Information in the Mural

The people above didnt know the situation below, and those below naturally didnt know the situation above. In fact, Mount Tai had already dispersed the surrounding clouds and fog when the first ray of sunlight appeared, its just that they were both focused on Cha Wenbin in the well and hadnt noticed yet.

And what about the person down in the well, our great god Cha Wenbin? At this moment, he is already 200 meters underground. This place was originally a basin, and the temperature here should be lower than outside. In fact, it is indeed so. From the beginning of going down the well to this depth of 200 meters, Cha Wenbin has started to feel a bit chilly. Fortunately, there is still that airflow, bringing in wind mixed with the outside temperature, so he can bear it. However, this person has been suspended in mid-air for more than two hours, and apart from his whole body aching, some parts of his body have begun to numb gradually.

Cha Wenbin lowered his head and tried to use the flashlight to see the situation below. Except for a piece of blackness, there was nothing else. He thought that he should still say something at the bottom. After all, people have already come down, no matter what, they must have a result. About an hour later, the space under the ancient well became larger and larger, with the widest part reaching nearly five meters. With the tactical flashlight, Cha Wenbin saw that the line patterns on the stone walls had changed again, and human figures began to appear! There were hunting scenes and working scenes. Just as he was about to reach the bottom, a huge pattern appeared before his eyes. This picture was inconsistent with all the pictures he had seen before:

Rather than saying that this picture is of a person, it would be more appropriate to say that its a monster, because from the picture, one can see a creature with a human head and fish body leading a group of people who appear to be men and women towards a creature with a human face, pig mouth, qilin body, and pig feet, making gestures of worship. What is this thing? Wen Bin looked at it in shock and amazement, because before the invention of ancient writing, people would record important events through murals, which generally depicted major events that needed to be recorded in history books. This can be seen from the ancient murals discovered around the world, so what does this picture mean? Is it saying that such monsters really exist in this world?

Just as he was bewildered by the huge mural in front of him, Zha Wenbin suddenly felt that his feet had stepped on something. It was no longer empty air, but hard rock! Had he already reached the bottom? Zha Wenbin quickly shifted his gaze from the top of the stone wall and looked down to find that he was indeed at the bottom of a well. If it could be called the bottom of a well, it would be more accurate to say that he had arrived in an underground dark river, because after looking around, he found that about ten meters above his head, the space suddenly opened up.

After a preliminary observation, Zha Wenbin found that the ancient well was directly above him, like a funnel, with a wide bottom and a narrow top. The diameter began to change about 20 meters upwards, becoming as thick as the well mouth they had seen on the surface. It formed a straight artificial excavation route to reach the ground, revealing a small point, which was the well mouth. Zha Wenbin pulled three times with all his might, indicating that he had safely reached the bottom of the well. These three pulls were able to exert force because they could step on the ground. The Super above saw no movement for half a day and was anxious. Suddenly, the rope in his hand moved, and he was overjoyed: "Comrade, Wenbin has already arrived at the bottom safely! Wait for a while, and you can let me down too!"

"Are you going down too? What about me?"

"You stay up there and help us keep an eye on our gear."

  Zhuo Xiong: ".................................."

After untying the ropes on his body, Cha Wenbin began to explore this underground world. The ground beneath his feet was a vast expanse of bare black rock, without any signs of artificial decoration, seemingly natural. In front of him lay a dark river, while behind him stood a hard rocky wall. The entire ancient well below presented an inverted "L" shape, with the vertical part being the well and the horizontal part being the dark river. It seemed that the dark river flowed from the front and reached its end at the ancient well, then turned upwards through artificial means to form this ancient well. Cha Wenbin was standing on a massive black rock protruding from the ground, with a large depression in front of him. Judging by its appearance, it should be a massive whirlpool formed by the impact of powerful water flows. Cha Wenbin imagined that if the depth of the ancient well was 270 meters, then wouldnt the space below still be submerged in water yesterday? If Old Wang and his team were really down there... Time had already passed for so long, did they still have a chance to survive? Cha Wenbin looked up at the exit of the ancient well again, determined to move forward.

Fortunately, the tactical flashlight purchased by Chaozi was quite useful. At least in this underground world, Zha Wenbins line of sight could reach about 50 meters. The riverbed above still had shallow water flowing through it. Zha Wenbin tried shouting a few times: "Old Wang, Old Wang, are you there?" In the empty cave, accompanied by his shouts, the echoes spread and dissipated slowly, "Ma...ma..." It took a long time to disappear. If they were there, they should have been able to hear it. After shouting several times without getting any response, he could only continue walking forward.

"Huh, what is this?" Zha Wenbin found that the wall below the cave also had murals, and they were connected one after another, like the comic books we see. These murals were no longer carvings in ancient wells, but were drawn with white lines. Although some parts were eroded by water and various mosses, because of their large size, except for some details, they could be roughly made out.

The first painting is: There is only one white wavy line, and on top of the white line, there is a sharp object exposed.

Zha Wenbin was at a loss and could only continue walking forward. Zha Wenbin saw another mural painting.

The second mural: almost identical to the previous one, a twisting and turning white line with a sharp object on top. However, this painting is different from the previous one, as it has several additional elements. Inside the circle formed by the twisting white line, there are several people holding weapons in their hands, but they appear defeated. Outside the white line circle, there is a person with eight legs, three heads and six arms, each holding a knife, axe, and spear respectively. His body is significantly larger than others. He has an arrogant appearance, and behind him stands a group of small people holding weapons, seemingly his subordinates, waving their arms in preparation for attack.

Looking at this painting, Cha Wenbin had a bit of confidence in his heart. He would definitely not know who painted this painting, but the characters in it he recognized. The eight-legged, three-headed and six-armed figure was none other than Chi You!

Chi You was the chieftain of the Nine Li tribe in ancient times and is recorded in history as a god of war. It is said that Chi You once waged a great war against the Yan Emperor, because his magical powers reached to the heavens, he was brave and skilled in battle, and eventually defeated the Yan Emperor.

After the Yan Emperor was defeated, he found another tribal leader, Huangdi. He joined forces with Huangdi to fight against Chiyou. Chiyou, confident in his own strength, did not take them seriously and led 81 brothers into battle against Huangdi for control of the world. The final battle took place at Zhuolu. Huangdi was also unable to defeat Chiyou, so he asked the gods for help. The battle was fierce, with the sky darkening and blood flowing like rivers. In the end, Chiyou was killed by Huangdi, who beheaded him and buried his body. However, Chiyous head transformed into a forest of bloody feng trees. Later, Huangdi honored Chiyou as the "God of War".

So if the person standing outside in this painting is Chi You, then isnt the person inside the white line Huang Di? So what does this painting describe? Isnt it the legendary Battle of Zhuolu?!

Looking at the meaning described on the stone wall, Cha Wenbin immediately inferred that this was a meaningful passage. Huangdi, Yandi and Chiyou should be Chinas three oldest ancestors. In an era filled with mythological legends, it is not surprising to leave such murals behind. After finishing, he carefully continued to move forward, and indeed, the third mural appeared in front of him again.

This mural depicts the same scene as the previous one, but with a sharp object that has become a large mountain, straight into the clouds. On top of the mountain, there is a woman-like figure holding a white thread in her hand, which is connected to the tip of the mountain. The people inside the mountain have also changed, and some animals have appeared. A person in front is charging forward with bears, tigers, wolves, leopards, eagles, dragons, and owls following behind him, but these animals are all anthropomorphized, holding weapons in their hands to fight against Chi You outside. After looking at it, Cha Wenbin thought that this should still be describing the war of the Zhou Dynasty, telling the story of Huang Di leading the Totem tribe to fight against Chi You, and the woman in the sky sparked his interest. According to legend, Huang Di received help from the heavenly gods, could this woman be a heavenly god? Then what is the white thread in her hand?

Just as Zha Wenbin was thinking, he suddenly discovered the biggest problem, that is, what was originally only a sharp point has now become a big mountain! He took a few steps back and his heart shook. Heaven, isnt this mountain the same as the one hidden in the clouds and fog during the day, Mount Wei? How can this be explained? Because everyone knows that this war is called the Battle of Zhuolu because the ancient battlefield has always been said to be in present-day Hebei Provinces Zhuolu County, but Sichuan and Hebei are tens of thousands of miles apart. Why is it described as being on Mount Wei here?
