Chapter 24 Filming and Hype

  Chapter Twenty-Four: Filming and Hype

Time stepped into February, a car gradually pulled over in Bladensburg, Maryland.

A group of middle school girls walked down from upstairs, each with an extremely excited look on their faces.

It's time to shoot a movie.

Kodie Lilie was able to bring all her classmates from the photography club over. It seems that they were also very enthusiastic about taking pictures.

"If we can make it successful, maybe we should set up a film and television company! We won't just shoot movies, but also TV series! And then everyone will wear clothes designed by me!"

Isn't this sentence the key point, Lisa?

"Maybe, but I think we should just focus on filming this movie first," Catherine said to her.

Lisa shrugged and then looked at Catherine with a sudden wicked smile, suddenly stretched out her hands and made the "Grabbing Dragon Claw" move.

  "Hmm..."

Catherine's face turned bright red all of a sudden.

"Kate, you're so sensitive..." Lisa smiled: "Huh? Why aren't you wearing the one I made?"

Catherine was wearing a full-cup bra, which completely covered her breasts.

"It's very comfortable when I put it on, but if I wear clothes outside, it's really hard to move. Lisa, can you take your hands off?"

Lisa didn't listen to Catherine's words and instead started pinching her, making her even more powerless, unable to resist being trampled.

"No way, I'm looking forward to the day Kate becomes a cow, so I'll keep milking it"

"What's good about being so big?"

Lily suddenly walked over, but also just looked at Catherine who was red in the face and unable to resist.

"The airport is out of the question, it has no feminine touch at all." Lisa insisted on her point of view.

"But girls like that are even more lovely."

Lily stood with her hands on her hips.

It seems that even in the United States, people's aesthetic concepts are somewhat different.

"Why use the word 'cow'?" Ida suddenly jumped out.

  "It's perfect just like cows."

The girls had no idea what a shock their conversation gave Catherine.

Their conversation was very innocent, but the word "cow" kept echoing in Catherine's mind. Apparently, she wasn't so innocent after all.

"In my opinion, anything above C is no good!" Lily blurted out.

Lisa looked at Lily and then her gaze gathered on her chest, putting on a look of sudden realization.

  "What are you looking at!"

Lily discontentedly puffed out her less-than-voluptuous chest.

"I really look forward to Kate becoming a cow... " Ida also joined the team of Ai Da.

"I think as long as it looks good, that's all that matters." Jenny chimed in to smooth things over.

"And besides, sisters, haven't you noticed that this isn't a school?"

Indeed, many passersby have already stopped to watch...

Catherine finally escaped from the devil's lair.

  Then it was photographed.

Catherine is the producer, director and lead actress. The photography and lighting were handled by the photography club. Photography was mainly done by Lily, who is also one of the main actors, while lighting and setting were arranged by the photography club.

Although they can't compare with professionals, they are very diligent.

In order to pursue authenticity, Catherine even went to the streets to find local villagers as "extras".

No acting skills are required, just let them know about this Blair Witch thing and then have them retell it.

Of course, before that, an "interview" must be conducted without their knowledge. Then, the matter is told to them, and through editing, it can be settled. Because the camera cannot switch shots, Catherine designed a process where Lily quickly turns the camera towards herself and then back again. In this way, except for extremely boring people, no one will be able to detect it.

Catherine indeed has a talent for acting, and she herself doesn't seem to realize it, but the people around her think Catherine is great, as if she really became a female high school student who came out to investigate the secrets of witches.

Catherine had only slightly studied directing, and as for acting, she could only say that she had dabbled in it a bit. However, her innate talent seemed to be quite good, so her acting skills were at least 90 points.

After filming scenes in the town, the residents here also seemed to have learned about Catherine and her party's film shooting, and they were all filled with interest.

  It seems... quite interesting.

But the next part of the play will be in the suburbs and even in the forest.

The shooting time is only two days, otherwise it will have to wait until next week, so I must be serious.

  After all, they are students.

But it was their first time shooting such a film. On the first day, they only shot some scenes in Blair Town and completed some small scenes that might be used later, which took no more than ten or twenty minutes.

The next day, the weather was not good, and it started raining lightly, so the shooting had to be cancelled.

It took them a whole month to finish "The Blair Witch", which, in Catherine's opinion, was simply a waste of time. After all, B-movies didn't need that much time.

However, in total, they spent about 5 days, which is not a lot of time.

Then it was edited, and this work was done by Catherine alone.

The photography club has a ready-made darkroom, although it's a bit simple, but wanting to complete it is not a difficult task.

Now that filming has wrapped up, what's next is - hype.

After editing is completed, the entire movie is basically settled.

Although there are some acting skills, the theme of this movie should be that inexplicable fear itself, rather than the actors. Catherine is mainly for expressing this as well.

The terrifying atmosphere was elevated to an extreme after editing.

Several of the edits that Catherine uses are in places where the camera shakes and cuts off, making it seem like a single take.

Turn a low-cost student film into a super box office hit. Its secret weapon is to promote fictional plots as documentaries, causing unsuspecting young people to discuss the history of Blair Witch and worry about the safety of three college students.

But in Catherine's view, this hype is good, but it can't be hyped like this.

After all, times have changed somewhat.

First of all, let everyone get familiar with the story of "The Blair Witch".

That was easy, as Catherine had dealings with the Paper Skin Book Company and so added this passage to the upcoming June release of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" to prove that wizards in America also have many stories. She then wrote a note: This legend is from Bladensburg, Maryland.

Distributors and so on are naturally needed, otherwise how can the film be released?

There are many things, but it's worth paying for.
