We were heading home, the last bits of light fading away. I was dark, like my dad, and Amanda was somewhat tan. I had just celebrated my 6th birthday party. I was growing to be a big girl! Amanda's birthday was also celebrated there too. Amanda got to be surrounded by the adults while I was for the most part left alone.
"Minnie you're awfully quiet, are you ok?"
"I'm fine momma, just a little tired."
There was a fog settling and my stomach dropped. I just lied. I never lie.

"You sure we shouldn't stop dear?"
"I'm sure, we'll be home in no time."
I started to doze off when suddenly I heard Amanda start crying.
Time slowed as I watched my dad stomp on the brakes, I saw the lights of a train. He tried to hit reverse as mom tried jumping out. My heart raced as a soft fuzzy feeling filled my stomach.
Dad and mom were suddenly gone, the loud horrid screeching of the car being cut in half, the screaming and the train slowing were all one repulsive song.
My vision was red along the edges, but somehow we were home. I stared at the man holding Amanda. His back was turned away from me.
My body aked,everything started spinning.
“You're a conflicted child.”
I looked up at the man, his head was turned slightly towards me.
My vision faded.
