…
It was a simple thing, the campsite. Tatania thought that it spoke volumes that her father would build such a thing for the people he employed. Sure, this forest was explored, and he could have just left it alone. He could have just left the adventurers to fend for themselves at night.
Yet, no, he had built these areas for his people to camp at. The act itself made her respect the work and dedication her father put into this kingdom even more. It was a strangely familiar feeling. It was like having Japanese family again. At least somewhat.
She shook her mind from those silly thoughts. She hadn’t thought back to her first life as a man in many years, and she wasn’t going to start now. Of course, that life still impacted her a lot, not that she was consciously thinking of it.
The camp itself, once Tatania actually focused on it, seemed quant. The camp was set off to their left side of the road. The space was about thirty feet wide and thirty feet long. A fire pit was in the center of the cleared area.
The brush as well as the grass and such had been cut away. The dirt had been id with sand and gravel to as to make sure that the grass didn’t grow back, at least all the way. The four sides to the space had seen use many times in the past years, and it showed in the marks in the ground.
Tatania thought she also spotted a worn and self-made path off to the side. The smells coming from that path, while not bad, spoke of what it was used for. Of course, she was secretly a demon girl in disguise, so she had no use for a toilet.
Yet still, she turned her nose away and made to gather the camping supplies from their carriage. Sure, she could use her inventory. It would be a poor choice to show such things to a person who wasn’t even a part of her family or the tomb. Also, it was just a dumb idea.
As she prepared the tent packs for camping, she noticed the vampire girl helping Momon. It was clear as day that she was restraining herself in some way. Evil Eye seemed like she was embarrassed by something. Yet, Tatania couldn’t figure out what.
She was pretty sure that Evil Eye didn’t want to draw him away from the kingdom. Though, she might want to draw his attention away from what he was doing, however unintentional.
She shook her head away from the loli’s actions and moved onto her own stuff. Such as, setting up her tent. The carriage itself was situated off to the side of the road, in a little nook on the right side. Sure, to get to the camping spot, one had to walk across the road.
It was fine, though. No one really used the road. Even if they did, there would undoubtedly be a sign that pointed out the area on the road.
She walked across the road to get to the spot, that was when she decided to set up on the far side from the road. This way she could see the road more clearly. As she did so, Momon and Evil Eye set up the fire in the fire pit.
…
Momon watched as the fmes danced. The warmth from the fire absorbing into the pte armor he wore. A while ago, his father Ainz Ooal Gown, had switched out the magic made armor for real Adamantite.
Sure, it was actually weaker than the magic made stuff. Yet it didn’t really matter when you could put dozens of enchantments upon the metal itself to make it stronger. The blue metal had been painted, and in the end no one could tell the difference.
He gnced to the side, looking at Tatania as she polished her staff. His little sister, to whom he cared deeply, looked up and meet his gaze with her changed one. Her own eyes were covered by contact lenses. Ther two golden orbs looked green now.
She looked back down at her work after he said nothing, and the two of them bathed in each other’s presence. Then again, he was pretty sure she didn’t care. He liked spending time with her like this greatly, yet she seemed indifferent.
Then again, she was closer to their father. Ainz Ooal Gown, he was a strange man. His machinations were dozens of years, if not hundreds of years ahead if his own. Despite being one of the smartest NPCs of the tomb, he was still behind.
“Mr. Momon?” Evil Eye spoke up, her voice curious.
“Hm? Yes, what is it?” he asked in return, unsure of what she was asking about.
“I was thinking about what we will find in the cave system,” she said, and then looked around, “also, why is there only us here? Shouldn’t there be the rest of the adventurer parties here, one the road with us moving?” she asked.
He nodded his head in thought. He knew the answer, and he spoke it. After all, it wasn’t a secret. He simply wanted to spend time with his sister. Sure, it was a bit out of character for him, yet it was simply doing as his father would have done.
“There is a public, “Gate,” service that helps people move from pce to pce. I simply wanted to show Tatania the forest, as she has never been here before like this,” he expined.
Evil Eye looked at the other girl with a shocked gaze. Then she spoke. Her voice was accusatory.
“You’ve never been into the great forest of Tob before?” she asked, her voice shocked.
“Have you ever camped under the stars here before?” Tatania asked, and the vampire flinched in embarrassment.
Pandora’s Actor, in the guise of Momon, tuned out the majority of the conversation from that point. After all, after they started slinging short people jokes at each other that was when he realized he wasn’t needed in the conversation anymore.
Though, he did listen in on the important bits. Such as Evil Eye calling Tatania’s chest, “Bug-bites,” and Tatania calling Evil Eye a, “angry and lost child.” That st one seemed to hurt Evil Eye a bit much, so she simply defted at that point.
…
Evil Eye was not a morning person. Despite being undead, she couldn’t help but sleep in when she wanted or felt like it. Sure, she could wake up early, but she didn’t naturally do so.
So, as she looked up to see the sun beating itself through her tent, she couldn’t help but gargle out one st compint and sat up after a stretch on the floor. Like a cat she stood, and looked around the pce.
Of course, she was undead. Yet she could still sleep. Most of her morning routine was habits from her life as a rainbow eye. Yes, that was her old race.
Seeing as her clothes had somehow been kicked off for the most part in her sleep, she gathered those and got dressed. It was a simple affair. She used a simple cleaning spell and cleansed her clothes.
She then stepped out of the tent and the day truly began. The other two already out there. Breakfast had been made. Mr. Momon seemed to have already eaten his, with Tatiana halfway done with Her’s.
“Rise and shine dy Evil Eye,” Mr. Momon spoke, his tone jolly this morning, and she had to hold herself together to stop from leaping at him in contagious joy.
She was truly down bad, wasn’t she? She internally shook her head. Not right now, no fantasies right now. Maybe ter in the day she could indulge, yet not right now.
“Good morning Mr. Momon,” she said and then did so with Tatania, “Good morning Tatania, what is it for breakfast?” she asked.
“Leftover hot pot and rice. Miss Viridael made us lots before this adventure, so we have plenty of it,” she expined, and Evil Eye nodded.
“Ok, I haven’t had rice in a while,” she said while grabbing the bowl next to the boiling pot hanging over the fire pit, “is it ok if I eat this in my tent?” the others nodded and the day moved on.
