Chapter 239: Thunderous Strike

  Chapter 239: Thunderous Strike

A faint stench drifted on the wind.

The previously bored troll soldiers immediately widened their eyes, their elongated noses twitching as they took a couple of sniffs, then suddenly shouted excitedly:

“Something’s up, I smell those filthy Rotten-Tooth trolls!”

The other nearby trolls instantly perked up. They quickly gathered around, sniffing the air, and exchanged knowing gnces.

  No doubt about it!

That was definitely the stench of the Rotten-Tooth trolls!

“There are Rotten-Tooth trolls climbing up. This is great news!”

“Yeah, finally, something to break the boredom of guard duty.”

“Heh, let’s ask the sentries. If there are enough of them, maybe we can all join in!”

“It’s been a while since we’ve had some ‘meat’...”

“Don’t rush to eat; we should have some fun first!”

  “That’s true…”

  “…”

The trolls’ chatter quickly reached the tall watchtower of the castle.

The equally bored sentries immediately perked up upon hearing the news.

Although they couldn’t leave their posts, even just watching would be a welcome distraction.

Soon, one of the sharp-eyed troll sentries spotted the “enemy.”

Its pupils narrowed, drool began dripping from its mouth, but it reluctantly bit down and shouted to those below:

“There are over 100 humans two kilometers north, dragging about a dozen Rotten-Tooth trolls northwards!”

“If you want to catch them, you’d better hurry, or they’ll escape into the arms of those idiots!”

“And remember, leave a good leg for me, or you’ll regret it next time!”

Upon hearing this, the trolls on the walls became excited.

  Finally, something to do!

Two troll centurions exchanged gnces, greed and excitement evident in their eyes.

“A hundred humans won’t be enough for all of us!”

“Don’t be stupid, why share with the others?”

“You’re right, let’s just call in a couple of squads and head out ourselves.”

“Exactly, we’ll surround them, feast, and then head back!”

Quickly agreeing on their pn, they eagerly began gathering their men.

The troll soldiers on the walls, meanwhile, grew restless.

But due to duty and fear, they could only watch enviously as four or five hundred trolls charged into the distant forest, grumbling quietly to themselves.

Luck just wasn’t on their side.

But who knows, maybe next time they’d be the lucky ones?

With a resigned sigh, the remaining trolls filled in the gaps, taking up the abandoned posts.

After all, everyone had their day. Maybe next time would be theirs?

The soldiers began grumbling again, cursing the lucky trolls who got to leave.

  Just then.

A thunderous boom erupted from the eastern gate.

A fireball from the sky exploded among the patrolling soldiers.

The roaring fmes directly countered the trolls’ powerful regenerative abilities, causing them to scream in pain.

Seven or eight trolls caught directly in the bst were ripped to shreds, dying instantly!

  “Fireball!”

  “A spellcaster!”

“Get over here and support us!”

The trolls scrambled, shouting frantically for the soldiers on the walls to help.

But before they could respond, two tall watchtowers were engulfed in fmes.

The trolls inside the towers were silenced in an instant.

The massive commotion quickly drew the attention of the entire troll castle.

At that moment, Yaya swooped down from the sky, targeting the commanding troll centurion on the wall. She opened her mouth wide:

  Exile Breath!

The troll didn’t even have time to react before being struck by the grey breath, instantly losing consciousness and awareness.

To the horror of the surrounding trolls, the centurion’s body vanished without a trace, leaving no sign of its existence.

  “Roar…!”

A deafening roar echoed across the castle.

The tangible pressure of dragon fear immediately caused the trolls on the walls to tremble, and a few even turned to flee.

The remaining centurions quickly snapped to their senses, shouting at the descending Yaya:

“Kill that dragon! Offer it to the great god, and we’ll all be blessed!”

“That’s right, it’s just a young dragon! If we kill it, we’ll receive unimaginable glory and escape from this pce…”

  “Charge with me, kill it!”

  “Watch me take its head!”

A reckless troll centurion raised his weapon high and charged toward Yaya.

But Yaya, descending like a bolt of lightning, sshed through the air, her cws ripping into the charging centurion.

Before it could even struggle, her sharp cws had torn open its chest, ripping out its heart.

  Crack!

Only after Yaya took off again did the crisp sound of bones breaking reach the ears of the other trolls.

  Only three troll centurions remained!

As Yaya soared into the sky, a volley of wooden spears, stone-tipped nces, and sharp iron javelins hurtled toward her from all angles.

After a series of loud cngs.

Yaya emerged unscathed, although most of the spear tips were damaged, having only broken through her two yers of magical shields.

Circling above once more, Yaya set her sights on the trolls regrouping on the walls.

Amidst their panicked cries, she dove down again.

This time, unlike before, the trolls glowing with a blood-red aura screamed defiantly as they raised their weapons to meet her.

They seemed fearless, ready to attack the moment she nded!

This was exactly the opportunity Matthew had been waiting for!

A fiery fireball nded before Yaya, exploding among the troll soldiers.

The bst alone ripped more than twenty trolls to pieces.

Before the fmes even dissipated, Yaya, now nearly a third rger than she had been a month ago, crashed into the horde of trolls.

The sheer force of her impact sent trolls flying, bringing her face-to-face with another centurion.

Yaya lunged forward, her cws aimed at the centurion, who was unable to dodge in time.

  Cng!

The centurion’s raised spear was sliced in half by her cws.

The broken tip continued its momentum, decapitating the centurion in one swift motion.

  Only two troll centurions remained!

They didn’t retreat; instead, they howled and charged from either side.

Sensing an opportunity, Yaya didn’t take to the sky immediately.

With a powerful fp of her wings, she knocked over the charging troll soldiers, sshing open the bellies of the ones at the front.

Relentless, Yaya, protected by her metallic scales, endured the trolls’ desperate attacks with ease.

She gnced at a troll leaping high into the air, her azure eyes filled with disdain.

The higher they jump, the faster they die!

  You can’t even fly!
