Chapter 73 Energy Highway
As multiple energy bdes soared through the air, the force of their expulsion created a high-pitched, whistling sound as they hurtled toward the distortion. Upon impact with the distortion, the energy bde dispersed as if nothing were there. However, the energy within the bde was still present and actively absorbed into the distortion.
Dahdin and Lucia stood side by side, fixated on the spectacle unfolding before them. Their faces filled with anticipation for the result. After a few tense minutes of waiting, there was a flicker of movement within the distortion. It started swirling faster, but its motion appeared to reverse, creating a mesmerizing and bewildering effect. When Dahdin and Lucia looked at the outer yer of the distortion, they couldn't help but notice the acceleration at which the distortion seemed to be fading. Dahdin remarked, "It's fascinating. We should observe closely to understand why this is happening. While Lucia was attentively observing the distortion consuming the energy, she quietly murmured, "It's almost as if it is using the energy to nourish itself."
They observed the distortion as it was fading, obtaining crucial information, considering it an exceptional result and a solution to the crisis. "That concludes the experiment," Dahdin decred, gradually coming to his senses. Lucia looked at Dahdin; he returned the stare and silently nodded in agreement, in understanding. Almost an hour ter, there were multiple energy highways, each accompanied by dozens of energy bdes. "Lucia, I believe we are prepared to unleash the bdes at the other distortions," Dahdin howled, gncing at the distortion. "I hear you and agree. Release the bdes!" Lucia yelled back.
With that affirmation, Dahdin began supplying the energy highway with the energy bdes lying right next to them. They were dropped in one by one, with various other energy highway supplied simirly, albeit slower. When the energy bdes reached the end of the stream, they were ejected from the energy highway, precisely targeting the scattered, unmoving distortions. The distortions seemed eager for the energy within the bdes to collide with them; some even spontaneously grew in size to make the cascade come to them faster.
The sudden growth in the distortions armed both Dadhin and Lucia. They panicked when they felt the spike in growth and quickly turned around to stare at the distortions, hoping nothing would happen that would cause their pn to go awry. They were especially concerned about the distortions dodging the energy bdes raining down on them. To their relief, the distortions were not evading the bdes but actively chasing them instead.
