Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [1]

  Kanto Region

A fierce chase was unfolding in the heart of the nature reserve.

"Damn it! How did I run into this monster?!"

The poacher leader, riding a Dodrio at full speed, screamed internally, his face contorted with fear.

He had come out with six subordinates on this poaching trip, and now he was the only one still able to move.

"Hmm? I think I just heard someone cursing me in their head."

A voice rang out behind him, sending a shudder down the poacher leader's spine. He lost his grip in shock and tumbled off the sprinting Dodrio, rolling more than ten meters along the ground before smming into a tree.

  "Yikes… that looks painful."

August caught up from behind, gncing at the poacher leader's arm, which was now twisted at an unnatural angle, and teased.

"You… weren't you transferred? Why are you still here?!"

Despite his broken arm, the poacher leader gritted his teeth and asked the question that burned in his mind.

The reason he had dared to come poaching in the first pce was that he had received information that this man—this demon feared throughout the Pokémon hunter underworld—had been reassigned. Otherwise, he wouldn't have dared to come even if someone paid him to.

Could it be that the informant had lied to him?

"Not sure where you got your intel, but it wasn't wrong—I did receive transfer orders. I just postponed my departure by a few days to see if any fools would walk right into my trap. Didn't expect to actually run into one."

August took a few casual steps forward, kicking the poacher leader aside to reveal the backpack he had been lying on. When he unzipped it, dozens of Poké Balls spilled onto the ground.

"You guys really racked up quite the haul. This should be enough to nd you four or five years behind bars." August roughly counted the Poké Balls and whistled.

"Damn it, couldn't you just stay transferred like a normal person?!"

His words were the final straw that broke the poacher leader's psyche. He let out a hysterical roar.

At the same time, a shadow shot toward August from his blind spot.

A Dodrio—three heads, six eyes, all gleaming with a vicious light—lunged at August with its beaks poised to strike.

  "Die!"

  This was his st resort!

Feigning weakness with his broken arm to lower the enemy's guard, then unching a sudden counterattack with Dodrio for a lethal strike!

If he could kill this demon standing in his way, not only could he escape, but he would also cement his reputation in the hunter underworld as the savior of Kanto's poachers!

…But reality didn't quite align with his fantasy.

August didn't panic at all when he saw the ambush. Instead, he let out a resigned sigh.

"Attacking trainers instead of Pokémon? You guys really don't have any new tricks, huh?"

Before he even finished speaking, the air beside him shimmered and distorted.

A blue figure suddenly materialized between him and the lunging Dodrio, raising an arm.

  "[Psychic]."

A brilliant blue glow fred to life.

  BZZT!

As if someone had hit the pause button, the charging Dodrio froze in mid-air, its entire body wrapped in a shimmering blue aura, unable to move a single inch.

The ferocity in its six eyes instantly turned to sheer terror.

"Thanks, Gardevoir. I'll leave it to you."

Gardevoir turned to her Trainer with a gentle smile, then refocused on Dodrio—spinning it around in the air like a windmill.

The Dodrio's terrified screams echoed through the forest.

The poacher leader, watching this unfold, went pale.

Damn it… Don't tell me this is that rumored 'demon's' Gardevoir? The shiny one with an absolutely rotten personality?

As he listened to Dodrio's tortured wails, he had a sinking feeling that the rumors were absolutely true.

  August, however, was completely unfazed.

His Gardevoir wasn't just different in color—it also had a slightly different personality from most Gardevoir.

Of course, that had nothing to do with him as a Trainer.

The poachers he had arrested always sndered him, ciming he had somehow corrupted a once-kind Gardevoir into the demon queen she was today.

  But August knew the truth.

Back when he first hatched her as a Ralts, she was already using Psychic to chase Poliwag around the pond, turning the pce into absolute chaos. A total bully.

Now? Simply tossing a Dodrio around was child's py—a clear sign of his excellent training.

Ignoring Gardevoir's antics, August pulled out his phone to notify Officer Jenny to come pick up the poachers.

At the same time, he began releasing the stolen Pokémon from their Poké Balls.

Vulpix, Jigglypuff, Clefairy… even an Abra!

All of them were valuable on the bck market—no wonder these guys had risked everything.

Seemingly startled by Dodrio's shrieks, the freed Pokémon froze in pce. Even Abra, which could usually teleport away in an instant, didn't dare to move.

August didn't mind. In fact, their stillness made his job easier.

Taking out his phone, he snapped pictures of each one as evidence before waving them off.

"Alright, you're free. Be careful next time—don't get caught again."

As soon as he said that, the Pokémon scattered instantly.

After two and a half years in this world, August had already settled into his daily routine—patrolling the nature reserve and capturing poachers alongside Gardevoir.

"Spending so much time here… Leaving all of a sudden feels kinda bittersweet." He gazed at the vast forest before him.

The captured poachers, now bandaged and cuffed, shuddered when they heard this.

Bitter? Sir, please, just leave already! Any longer and someone's going to die!

Officer Jenny, however, had a different reaction. She nodded in agreement.

"Yeah… With you around, these poachers didn't dare act so recklessly."

After working together for over two years, she genuinely felt reluctant to see him go.

August had almost completely purged the poachers from the nature reserve, striking fear into their hearts and drastically reducing her workload.

But now that he was leaving, she could already predict the rise in poaching activity.

"I heard you're transferring to the International Police?"

"Yeah. No clue what those guys upstairs are thinking, sending a ranger like me to be a cop. Ridiculous." August shook his head, hands behind his back.

  Jenny rolled her eyes.

For officers like her, being assigned to the International Police was the dream. And this guy was compining about it?

"Maybe they just think it's a waste for such a strong Trainer to be a mere ranger," she muttered.

With Team Rocket growing more aggressive, the League needed all the manpower it could get. Keeping August in the reserve was simply a waste.

After recording the final poacher's details, Officer Jenny closed her notebook and extended a hand.

"Well, I'll take these guys in. Best of luck at Interpol."

"Same to you—best of luck." August grinned as he shook her hand.

As he bid her farewell, his system notification pinged.

  Fighting-Type Pte

"Is that even a question? Of course, I'm choosing the [Viridian Power]!"

This was such an obvious choice that even a Youngster would get it right.

Sure, the [Fighting-Type Pte] was a decent option, but… he only had one Pokémon, and that was Gardevoir.

  As for the Champion-level Jynx...

August still preferred to raise his own Pokémon from scratch.

And no, it had nothing to do with Jynx not fitting his aesthetic preferences. Absolutely not.

As a surge of warmth flooded his body, August could feel something new awakening within him.

He pulled up his system interface.
