Anton and his friends Torun, Blake, Andrea, and Soren’s band practice lasted four hours as usual, and during lunchtime, his friends hurried back to the rooms they were staying in with their families on board the Amelia. They told him before that their families did not allow them to stay during meal times because they did not want Anton to think that his friends were free-loading food off of him.

  He told them that he wanted them to tell their families that it was okay with him, but more than likely, his friends were a little embarrassed as well. It was alright once in a while, but not too often. Anton guessed that his friends’ pride wouldn’t allow him to spend too many coins on them since in the place where they lived before, their families were considered middle to high-income families since they were all part of merchant families.

  Anton supposed that the main reason why his friends were comfortable with him was, they were aware that his family were just regular farm folks a year ago before Anton ascended to his noble title because of his power as an archmage. Because of the very short time that he became a noble, his behavior was still very ordinary. His father and his sister were the same. The main difference his family had with other rags to riches families was that no one dared to belittle or mock them because an archmage was someone you shouldn’t mock because their power would allow them to destroy any family without too much consequences and even if they were protected by mages as well, powerful mages sometimes had the means to bypass those protection. There was also a very high chance that the archmages in question would not be caught.

  After Anton’s friends left, he asked Anna and the others if they wanted to eat lunch with him somewhere outside the suite, but the mages declined, saying that they had already eaten and just wanted to continue practicing their magic, so he returned to his room and entered his Diablo II system.

  “I feel like I’m going to reach the next rank soon!” Anna excitedly said and based on Lunelle, Ramona, and Belinda’s reactions, all of the girls felt the same thing.

  He practiced some of his spells, making sure that he was familiar with every nuance of the mana composition of each of the spells that he was working on. He needed to be very familiar with them because that was the only way he could implement his plan of combining spells to create more powerful personalized spells. Not only that, but he could only use a spell from his Diablo II system that he was extremely familiar with.

  The good thing about Anton’s Diablo II system spells was, there were a limited number of them, and their number was probably not even ten or twenty percent of the number of spells that a regular archmage knew.

  The advantage that he had with regular wizards was that he could be considered as someone having multiple job classes, and that meant that he also had the physique and skills of a warrior and an archer rogue. He could survive in this world just wielding a sword, a bow, a javelin, or a lance.

  As Anton had said before, he still preferred being a mage, so he was treating all of his skills regardless which characters they came from as spells that he could cast so once his melee characters reached the maximum level and he had collected most of the “Best in Slots” gears, he always reset the skills and focused on passive skills that strengthen his body.

  After practicing some of his skills for about an hour, he began leveling up his Amazon character. He still had not started enchanting the items that he had purchased from Norbuna because he would do so once he had reached the maximum level for his Amazon. He didn’t know what would happen to his system once his Amazon reached level ninety-nine so he planned to hunt the best Amazon gears once he reached the late nineties level.

  If nothing changed with his Diablo II system after that, then he would have the time to start his ideas of following the suggestions that he had compiled regarding ideas for enchanting items and ideas regarding spell combinations from Earth’s netizens. To be honest, Anton was extremely excited to learn what was coming next with his Diablo II system since he did not have any idea at all.

  Anton leveled up his Amazon character for five hours and reached level eighteen. After that, he joined his family for dinner. During dinner, Anton and his family and friends talked about what they did during the day. Anna reiterated to their father that she felt that she would reach the next wizard rank and the other girls exclaimed the same thing. Anton noticed that Anna was simply proud of her achievement but the other girls were not the same.

  It was as if they wanted to prove to Anders that it was not a waste of time to allow them to concentrate on their magic instead of their regular job.

  “You don’t need to worry too much, girls. Just focus on your magic, and we will continue supporting all of you.”

  Anna ran to their father and hugged him while the other girls became teary-eyed, which made Anton roll his eyes. He stopped immediately when he saw his father glaring at him, though.

  After dinner, they watched a couple of episodes of the television series that they had been watching and then they all went to their room to rest, but before that, Anders asked Anton something that surprised him.

  “Are you not going to add more songs to your song collection, son?”

  “Why?”

  “We’ve been listening to your singing in the background with low volume during the day, even when we’re in a meeting. Your voice is pleasant to listen to,” Anton’s father said and looking at Selena, Norma, and Belue’s expressions, they agreed with his father.

  Anton flushed and felt a little proud and a little embarrassed that others found his singing voice pleasant to listen to. He liked it when others praised his singing because he felt that it was the only legacy left from his parents on Earth who were both great singers when they were alive.

  The next day, Anton didn’t have any classes still, and he did not have band practice, so he spent a couple of hours reading the books that were provided by his magic teachers. After that, he entered his Diablo II system early and began leveling up his Amazon character. He didn’t go outside his room for lunch and just continued leveling up his Amazon. He only stopped at around six in the evening because he wanted to watch the music lesson that he had purchased and record a song cover.

  He planned to practice with Torun and the others until they were all proficient enough to record a song as a band that was pleasant to listen to, and they couldn’t do that yet but because of his father’s request, he would just continue recording cover songs until he could add more songs to the original collection that he gave his father and sister.

  To be honest, he felt a little proud that his sister kept his singing as their background music while they were practicing their magic, giving their suite a vibe. He decided to create a list of song covers that he would sing with a theme like “café songs” or “exciting songs”. Café songs would include mellow songs that would relax the listeners, and “exciting songs” were songs that would make the listeners' blood boil or something like that.
