Chapter 421

Anton kept the three chests that the whales gave him, and while floating above the ocean, his eyes followed the blue whales and the pink dolphins’ departure. After his friends were out of sight, he flew towards the Amelia in the distance. When he arrived there, he almost ughed out loud when he saw his sister and his friends' worried faces.

“You’re so stupid! I thought the ship left you behind and that you would not be able to catch up!” Anna shouted at him.

Anton just shrugged and apologized then they all returned to the family suite. Antonia, Lucia, and Philip went somewhere else though but Torun, Bke, Andrea, and Soren followed him home. When they arrived at the suite, he checked the time and Anton saw that it was already around four in the afternoon but the mages in the family headed directly to the home theater chairs that they set up to watch movies and television shows that was also used as the magic practice area by the mages and they continued practicing their magic.

Anton and his friends sat in the living room to talk. They spoke softly since his friends did not want to disturb the mages’ practice. Andrea looked at them curiously, though.

  “What are they doing?”

“They’re memorizing spells to fill the spell slots and then casting the memorized spells in a magic item to store the mana to empty their spell slots and then memorize their spells again. The process will allow them to exercise their magical muscle to increase their mana capacity, just like a warrior exercises his muscle to increase physical strength. The practice will allow them to increase their wizardly rank,” Anton answered Andrea since what the mages were doing was not a secret.

“Is that the reason why I sometimes see mages casting their spells on a target? I remember it happening when we peeked through the walls of the magic academy near our home in Ruandelle. I thought they were practicing their spell casting to increase their familiarity with the process,” Bke asked.

“That’s also a part of it, but because I created a magic item wherein they could cast their spells on it and the mana would be stored on an item, the mana would not be wasted,” Anton added.

“Are you talking about the mirror? I almost ughed earlier when I saw one of the girls casting her spells on it. I thought she was looking at the mirror to see what she looked like when she was casting a spell,” Andrea whispered, which made Anton ugh.

“What will happen to the mana that’s stored in that mirror?” Bke asked.

“As you know, enchanted items will need to have their mana recharged if the mana was consumed, and the mirror can recharge enchanted items, but unfortunately, it will only work on the magic items that I’ve made.”

His four friends were children of merchants, so they knew the value of an item that could recharge a magic item, and the fact that the said item was exclusive to items that Anton had enchanted meant that those who purchased magic items from him would be tempted to purchase the mana power bank. The idea made his friends’ eyes widen because they knew how that it would allow Anton to earn a lot of coins.

If they knew that the huge mana power bank’s true value was to enrich an enclosed environment with mana, making magic practice easier, that would make his friends gasp because they would understand how much coins a rich magic organization would pay for something like that.

Just the coffee table mana power bank earned Anton an incredible amount of coins.

“I saw earlier that the whales gave you something before they left. What is it?” Soren asked.

Anton almost had to appreciate Soren’s ck of tact when asking about something that interested him and he kept receiving hits or verbal reprimand from everyone. He didn’t mind and answered Soren.

“My ocean friends gave me three chests. I don’t know the content yet and will open it ter when my father is here.”

“We were waving at you earlier since we would have liked to join you in your py with your friends,” Torun said.

“I did see it, but it’s incredibly dangerous for you to join me while I’m with the blue whales because there’s a chance that you could be unintentionally hurt by them. They’re very huge, unlike the flying fish that we encountered before.”

After hanging out with his friends for a few more minutes, talking about nonsense things, they left soon after promising that they would practice their musical instruments. Anton knew that their band was just a whimsical decision they had made and would probably not st long, but it was an excuse to hang out and it would not truly matter to Anton when it fizzle out.

Since he still had a little time, he practiced his music and recorded a mellow jazz song for his “café music” song covers since Anton didn’t feel like leveling up his Amazon character in the small time remaining before dinner. When he went outside his room to join his family that night, he saw that there was food on the table already.

While they were eating, Anton told his father that his ocean friends gave him three chests and he still had not inspected their content. He decided to inspect them after dinner together with his family, so once they were done Anton retrieved the three chests that the blue whales gave him and put them on the table.

The chests looked dipidated, which was understandable since they might have been under the ocean for a long time. Anton was even a little surprised that even though the chests looked worn out, they still seemed to be sturdy.

Everyone looked excited while waiting for Anton to open them, but just to make sure that it was safe, Anton inspected the chests using his mana senses to make sure that there were no magical traps. However, he was sure that they were safe since the Blue Whales and the Pink Dolphins were quite intelligent and wouldn’t put something that had magical traps inside their mouths.

When Anton tried to open the first chest, he was a little surprised at the effort that it took him since he was quite strong due to the stats his Diablo II system gave him but after a couple of minutes of forcefully opening the chest, the first one finally opened.

The chest was filled with golden treasure. There were golden goblets, ptes, pieces of jewelry, and more and all of them were gem encrusted. Even the very rich Antonia, Lucia, Walter, and Philip gasped when the glittering treasure appeared when the chest was opened. A few of the items were even enchanted based on the mana fluctuations that he could see surrounding those items.

The first thing Anton did was cast a Cleaning spell toward the treasure, and it made them glitter more, which made everyone’s eyes sparkle in wonder. Anton then knew that they would not be watching television shows that night.

The next thing they did was spill out the treasure onto the table after Anders asked Colin and Devon to put the two unopened chests on the ground. Anton and Frederick then began separating the enchanted items from the regur treasure, and it didn’t take long since there were only around five of them.

Anton wanted to return all the treasure inside the chest that he cleaned using his Cleaning spell but everyone said that they wanted to inspect each one of them, even his father wanted to inspect them so the only thing that Anton did was store the enchanted items in his inventory to be inspected inside his Diablo II system since it would be safer that way.
