"Hey. I'm coming back soon, I'm going to get a quick mocktail, yeah mom?" Jackie said on the phone before closing it and putting it in his pocket. He looked at seaside nearby as he felt his short brown hair being swayed by the wind as today was a fairly hot day. Jackie was around 16 and was best known for his silky, calm voice and his kindness. But despite these traits, he was hot-tempered at times.
Jackie saw his little sister Lily run towards him as he saw her having two lollies. One presumably for him and the other was for her. Lily was a curious young child around 8 years old and was known for being extremely smart. But due to that, she was a smart alec and tends to act on her own accord. Lily gave him lemon fvoured lolly which was his favourite fvour while she had bubblegum. Both of them opened their lollies and began eating them until Jackie heard his phone ringing.
"Hold on for a minute. I think someone is calling me." Jackie took his phone out before he heard his mother's worried voice which made him jump a bit "Where are you two!? It's been 10 minutes and I'm starting to get worried." Jackie's mother said as Lily spoke up curiously "Is mom angry?" As Jackie shook his head "No, just... Feeling worried about where we are."
Lily nodded before Jackie continued speaking to his mother "I'm with my sister. She brought lollies for both of us. We will come back at least another few minutes, alright mom?" Jackie closed his phone before nodding at his sister. "Right, that was just mom. Come, I pn to get mocktails." Jackie started walking as Lily excitedly said "what kind!?" Jackie gave a slight smile before saying "Pineapple mocktail for me and mango mocktail for you." Lily giggled in excitement as both of them continued walking through the sandy dunes.
It took about 5 to 7 minutes to get to the bar near the beach. Jackie looked up seeing a bearded tan man who was slightly muscur. He was wearing tinted gsses that had shades of purple and orange with palm trees sketched on them. He was currently blending fruits together before turning around and said in a slightly rough tone "Oh you two kids need something?" Jackie nodded before saying "Yeah we need two mocktails. One for me and one for my sister."
The man nodded before giving out the smoothie to another customer before he took the cash and began working on Jackie's and Lily's drinks. He soon scooped up small chunks of ice and put it in their drinks as he started adding the fruit inside. Afterwards, it was done as he gave them their mocktails "￡6.47 please." Lily took out her money and gave it to him as they thanked him.
Jackie checked the time and it was 3:45pm. He realized that they took longer than they have should of and immediately said "Shoot. We better go back." Jackie instantly began running as his sister began following behind him. They ran all the way through the stone path and into the restaurant as they saw their very displeased looking mother standing right in front of the table as the two of them looked at each other with nervousness.
"So? What took you two so long?" Jackie's mother asked before Jackie replied "W-Well both of us were getting some stuff but it took longer than expected." As Lily nodded as their mother's eyes narrowed for a long moment before deciding to let them go for now "Alright fine. Now you two sit down on the seats." They both nodded surprised that they weren't scolded as they sat down on the restaurant sofas.
The restaurant sofa felt very comfy and had a very 2000s look to it, the rest of the restaurant that this warm vibe to it as 2010s types of music yed from the speakers. The area was rge with lots of tables and chairs and a couple of couches on the side. The wood had a honey brown look to it and had patterns all over it. A couple of pnts were on the windowstills where the sun shined on them while a few of the pnts were hanged on the walls. The counter area had 6 barstools and a gaxy-like design painted on the counter.
Jackie eyes lingered on his menu as his mother was flipping through the pages. Meanwhile Lily was pying on her tablet as they discussed on what to get. They saw the waitress come towards them. It was a woman around her 30s that had ginger hair, grey eyes, her skin was rosy-peach with a few brown birthmarks and had several cross bracelets on her hand. She had long earrings and was noticeably wearing bck shoes that had short heels and gold patterns. She took out her notepad with a serious look and said "So what do you all choose?"
Lily spoke up with excitement as she said "Can I have some steak that is sliced up and has lemon on it?" The waitress nodded before writing it down a bit tiredly. Jackie soon chose some chips and some chicken meanwhile their mother decided to chose fillet with some seafood beside it. Soon the waitress left to get their order as Jackie was drinking his mocktail while reading a book.
After a bit, the waitress back as she gave them their orders as Jackie's mother spoke up "Thanks uh... What's your name Madam?" As the dy turned around and said "You can call me Maria." She said before leaving the area and quickly went to the counter. Soon they began enjoying their orders as they ate. After eating they got up preparing to leave until they heard a crash noise outside that sounded like it hit something hard.
Lily ran outside first along with Jackie and their mother. Maria, some of the waitresses and costumers came outside curiously checking on what just happened. Lily gasped in surprise as Jackie's eyes widened....
