As narrated by Nikolai Renlanton
We were trying to hold back that six-armed giant. It was the first time I’d seen such a creature—he wasn’t just any giant, he was the god of giants.
He was massive, with six arms, and each of his hands was larger than my entire body.
He was so strong that he could fight all of us at once and still have a real chance of surviving. His power was equal to at least three gods combined.
We kept trying to hurt him, but he remained unharmed. That was, until we began to feel the ground crack beneath us—then, the giant sank into the earth, creating a massive crater.
We followed him down. His legs were beneath the ground, while his upper body remained within our reach.
Dwayne had gone to summon armies of monsters and return later.
So Jason, Joseph, and I went in after him.
It wasn’t just difficult—it was nearly impossible. But it was worth it, because if we succeeded, we’d become the first humans to kill a god of giants... if we were even human anymore.
We started fighting him, but he was unbelievably strong.
My job was simple—protect the others from harm. That was my role.
I transformed, then sprinted toward the giant. His appearance was one of the few things that ever frightened me.
Joseph started running with me. The crater was massive, and the giant’s arms were so long that we had to sprint just to reach him.
I laughed and asked Joseph, “Are you scared?”
He smiled and said, “Yeah.”
I ran faster and told him, “Good. That means you’re still okay.”
When I got close to the giant, I leapt onto one of his arms and ran across it, heading toward his head. I started punching him until my fists swelled—but it didn’t do much to him.
He smacked me with one of his arms so hard I blacked out for three seconds.
When I came to, I saw Joseph and Jason trying to land hits, but they could barely avoid his strikes—they were incredibly fast.
I ran to help them.
Jason was smart—he’d opened two portals, one in front of the giant and one behind.
He kept teleporting between them, attacking the giant with his massive hammer.
Once I got close, I shouted, “Get behind me! I’ll block his attacks—we’ll move in bit by bit!”
Jason and Joseph stood behind me while I redirected the giant’s strikes.
I wasn’t truly blocking them—I was shifting their direction, buying us time. Dwayne would be back soon with monsters, and they’d distract the giant while we fought.
I got closer and closer—I could see fear in the giant’s eyes. Maybe this was the first time a human had ever wounded him.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
He screamed so loud it sent us flying into the air.
Jason opened a portal and transported Joseph beside him.
Now Joseph stood face-to-face with the giant. He formed two hands of lightning, shoved them into the giant’s mouth, and began ripping his jaw open, tearing his head in half.
Joseph screamed as the electricity poured from him.
The giant was weakening. I rushed in, grabbed one of his arms, and pulled so hard I felt my own arm dislocate and my eyes start to bleed—until the limb tore off.
Jason struck another of the giant’s arms with his hammer, cutting it off completely.
I looked at Joseph—he was still trying to rip the head apart, but the giant grabbed him and started squeezing.
Jason and I ran to help him. The giant struck Jason while he was defending Joseph, slamming him across the crater and crushing him into the wall.
I grabbed Jason’s hammer with all four of my hands and slammed it into the giant’s body with all my strength.
The giant punched me twice, but I held on. Then came the third punch—it smashed me into the ground.
That’s when Dwayne arrived—with an army of demons.
The demons swarmed the giant like worms.
He couldn’t stop them, so he dropped Joseph and began killing them instead.
Dwayne stood beside me and said, “Sorry I’m late. The place was empty—these demons were all I could find.”
I replied, “Don’t worry about it.”
He grabbed my arm and pulled me off the ground.
I rushed to Joseph—it was the first time I’d ever seen him this exhausted. His eyes were bleeding, even his ears.
The giant’s head began to crack—then it split in two.
Joseph collapsed. He was barely breathing, so I carried him to the car.
On the way, I saw a girl near the car—a red-skinned demon woman, covered in war tattoos, even on her armor.
She was full of scars and wounds.
I laid Joseph on the ground and stepped toward her. “If you’re here to steal something, this is the wrong place.”
Jason lifted Joseph and put him in the car. “Don’t worry, that’s Natasha.”
I looked at her and asked, “Did we really work with you for seven years without knowing you had a demon contract?”
She smiled and said, “Yep.”
We got in the car. After a while, the rest of the team returned—well, what was left of them. Half were broken. The others were already dead.
Jason was driving. We were in the main cabin.
Natasha asked, “I’ve always wondered... why are you called the Devil’s Brothers? I’ve never asked.”
I smiled and said, “Because we all have a contract with a demon.”
She tilted her head. “Then why not the ‘Devils’ Brothers’? And what’s the contract?”
I looked at my brothers to see if I should tell her.
They all nodded. So I said, “Well, first—we all made the same contract with the same demon. It required all five of us. If we all die, the last one to die will come back to life.”
Natasha laughed. “I don’t know how useful that is—but it’s weird.”
Things were quiet, but Natasha caught my attention again.
I asked, “Natasha, how long is your transformation going to last? I don’t think you can enter HQ looking like that.”
She smiled. “No idea. Last time I transformed... was seven years ago.”
