Chapter 19: Finding a traveler

The landscape of this level is pretty. But it always feels like danger could be jumping out of any corner.

After searching for quite a while Lie Mo finds something interesting. There is a hole in the floor. It is almost covered with vegetation.

At the bottom of it is a skeleton. Lie Mo is expecting to find a trap close by.

  Something that killed this person.

But after he found nothing he enters the hole. He slowly climbs down the local plants that act as a rope.

This person seems to just have died from the fall. Or he broke his leg and couldn’t get out. At least his left leg is broken. So that might be a possible solution.

After looking through all the belongings of the person Lie Mo starts to take things for himself. There isn’t’ much left. Only the clothes and a ring again. And a broken sword and a broken bow. This ring isn’t sealed. In it are food, drinks, outdoor material, arrows and a few scrolls.

One of the scrolls is notable. It isn’t stored with the rest.

After opening he isn’t surprised why. It is the last wish of the person.

  Hello traveler

It will probably take a long time until my body gets discovered. Because of that I will not put any unreasonable requests into my last wish. I assume that most people I know of are dead. Because of that you will not have to bring back any gifts or warnings. I just hope that my remains will be helpful.

  Stolen story; please report.

I never took in a disciple and that is my only regret. I destroyed all manuals that I’m not allowed to share. But everything else is to your choosing. I don’t have much of worth with me besides the manuals. Please use them to the best of your ability.

One of the manuals are my own creation. This was more of a hobby of mine. Please don’t laugh at me.

Don’t go too deep into this cave system. It is deep and dangerous. Only few people know of its existence and I know of no one who explored it entirely. Leave as soon as you face mortal danger.

Now I have to say good bye.

  Written by an unknown traveler.

Lie Mo looks at every scroll.

  Others:

  • Mimicking human accents and animal noises (normal) (passive)

  •

Lie Mo starts to memorize the few scrolls. The only normal one is mimicking human accents and animal noises. Judging from the calligraphy, this is the creation of this dead traveler. Why does it have to be something so useless? Perhaps it isn’t that useless after all. It can mimic accents after all and because of that he can better avoid being tracked while walking through civilization.

Resistance to ten poisons is totally useless since he has the advanced version of exactly that manual.

The three mortal ones are pretty easy to learn. It will only take a few weeks. Lie Mo is currently lacking a solid array of skills. Flexibility is great. And a mortal skill in the right moment can save a live.

Basic bow and sword fight would be useful if he had a bow and sword. But because he doesn’t have one he has to put that one on hold.

Lie Mo starts learning the three mortal manuals after he finished memorizing all of them.
