14 - Charm

“Thank you very much, adventurers. If it weren't for your help, our farm would have continued to be harassed by that evil boar for a long time.” A farmer bowed in gratitude to our group after we brought back the animal's carcass.

“We just accepted and completed the mission, don't worry about it.” I said with a polite smile to the poor man before turning around and leaving with Varen and Gwen.

All the way back, Gwen couldn't stop looking at her arm, where the [Noble Mark] was.

“Don't worry, Gwen, the [Noble Mark] won't disappear.” I laughed at how she was acting.

Her cheeks flushed at my comment, but the excited smile still remained on her face. “I know, Master, but I really want to know how much I've improved after a long day of training.”

Varen also smiled, completely understanding her feelings.

Ever since I turned him into a Devil, Varen gets very excited every night for me to update his [Noble Mark] data.

And that was the magic of RPG games in my other world.

Training at a gym and only seeing results after several months is very discouraging, but with a system like this, you feel much more motivated to train and get stronger every day, since you can quantify your gains daily and see that your work that day has really paid off.

That's why so many people were addicted to MMORPGs, with many even spending days killing monsters non-stop just to get an item that increased their characters' stats by 3% in total.

Here there were no characters, my servants trained to make their bodies stronger, which made the dopamine effect on the brain even stronger!

“Congratulations Adam and Varen, you are now D Rank Adventurers, which will give you easier access to D Rank missions, as well as some C Rank missions that the Guild feels you can complete.” Aline said with an excited smile as she exchanged the copper bracelets that Varen and I were wearing for new silver bracelets.

Aline is the girl who has been helping us since our first day at the Adventurers' Guild.

“Thank you very much, Lady Aline. Perhaps you would accept my invitation to dinner to celebrate my promotion to D Rank Adventurer?” Varen asked as he leaned forward slightly at the counter.

But in response to Varen's advance, Aline simply moved away from him and dismissed the bard with a cold voice while rolling her eyes. “No, Varen, I have no interest in going out with you.”

This left Varen dejected for only a few seconds before he returned to normal, accustomed to his advances being rejected.

I didn't even bother with it, used to seeing Varen try to win over women he was interested in.

Because he was always respectful about it, never forcing himself on any woman and always seeking my approval before making advances on any woman he was interested in, I just let him continue.

“If he enjoys it and no one is offended, let him have fun.” I laughed mentally at his antics before asking Aline a question.

“Our group now consists of two D Rank Adventurers and one E Rank. Can we accept C Rank missions even with Gwen in the group?” I asked curiously.

Aline quickly changed from the cold expression she had been using to ignore Varen to a polite smile with sparkling eyes as she looked at me and replied.

“Normally, an E Rank Adventurer would need at least 20 E Rank missions before being able to join a group on a C Rank mission...”

She said, smiling at me before coming closer and whispering. “But in your case, I think I can make an exception, Adam.”

Hearing that, I smiled, showing my white, slightly sharp teeth to her as I replied. “Then I'll be grateful for that exception, Aline, that's why you're my favorite attendant.”

With my compliment, Aline's cheeks flushed as she stared intently at every inch of my face.

During my days in the human world, I became aware of how lethal my appearance was to them.

My face combined several features that were extremely attractive to humans, as if every line had been sculpted to arouse desire.

My red eyes, glowing like embers under the dim light of the Guild, were not only intense, they drew attention, even with different eye colors existing in this world, the rare red hue was very attractive.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

My pale skin, smooth as polished marble, suggested that I came from a noble background, adding more points to me in people's eyes.

My long black hair, falling in slightly messy waves over my shoulders, gave me an air of mystery, as if I were a prince from forbidden tales.

My defined jaw and slightly sharp teeth, visible when I smiled, added a touch of danger that, instead of repelling, attracted even more.

It was as if my body, forged by mana and demonic instincts, had been molded to seduce, manipulate, dominate.

“To be a Devil is to be living desire.” I thought, watching Aline bite her lip, her eyes locked on mine.

In my old world, I read about demons who enchanted mortals, and now I understood why.

Our beauty was not just aesthetic, it was a weapon, like an invisible chain that stirred the human heart.

Every feature, every gesture, resonated with the promise of power, passion, or danger, and humans, driven by desires they did not always understand, fell under this spell.

My voice, even without [Devil Whisper], had a deep tone that made Aline lean closer, as if she wanted to capture every word. It was demonic physiology, designed to inspire fascination, to make others let their guard down.

Varen had it too, even more so if he wanted to use [Devil Whisper] to try to charm Aline, but he felt that using something like that on a woman just to try to get into her pants was beneath him, which I respected.

And it's not like he was bad looking, he was already a handsome human, and just like Gwen, after becoming a Devil, Varen's appearance became even more lethal.

Unfortunately for him, walking beside me, even though he was a 9 out of 10, it was very difficult for him to stand out.

“Adam, you... you're always so charming.” Aline said, her voice almost a whisper as she absentmindedly arranged papers on the counter, clearly not needing to. “If you need any more... exceptions, just let me know.” She winked, her face still red.

‘That wouldn't be bad,’ I thought, keeping my smile. ‘With someone in the Adventurers’ Guild willing to pull some strings for me behind the scenes, I can act more freely in Ironvale.

Gwen, beside me, fiddled with her adventurer's bracelet, seemingly oblivious to my exchange with Aline, but her eyes sparkled with a different light when she looked at me, changing the subject. “Master, do you think the Guild will give us a C Rank mission soon?” she asked.

“With Aline on our side, Gwen, I think so,” I replied, giving the attendant a slight nod. Gwen smiled, but I noticed a slight frown on her forehead, as if she realized the effect I had on her.

Varen, recovered from the rejection, strummed the lute with a mischievous smile. “Master, if your face keeps opening doors like that, I'm going to need a song just for it! ‘The Ballad of the Fatal Gaze,’ how about that?” He laughed jokingly, but studied my appearance more carefully, also realizing the usefulness of my looks.

“Put away your notes, Varen.” I said, laughing softly. “Maybe in the future I'll appreciate that song.”

Aline laughed, still blushing, and handed me a list of missions. “Here, Adam. There's a C Rank in the pit... but be careful, they say it's dangerous.” Her eyes lingered on mine, as if waiting for me to ask for more.

“Thanks, Aline.” I said, my voice soft but firm. “You're an angel, but today we're going to go back and rest, tomorrow I'll take that mission.”

She blushed even more, even though she didn't know what an angel was, after realizing what time it was and that we had just returned from a long mission.

“Right, I'm sorry, I think I got a little too excited.” Aline took the paper back and used it to cover her face before saying goodbye to us.

Returning to the inn, the three of us went to my room with Varen, and I began to update their [Noble Marks].

Varen's [Noble Mark] had very little improvement, as he only served as support in cases of extreme necessity.

It was in Gwen's [Noble Mark] that there was a big change.

  | Name: Gwen Harrow

Since the use of Demonic Powers counted as magic, Magic was the stat that grew the most in both of their stat sheets.

Looking at the paper with the details of how much stronger she had become, and feeling the changes in her body, Gwen was beaming.

Only one question came to mind.

‘Is it possible to change the location of the [Noble Mark] on them? Reading and copying the data from Gwen's [Noble Mark] on her arm is really bad... now I understand why the gods in that anime chose their backs to leave their Marks.’ I thought curiously.

But putting that thought aside, I began to change my mind to expansion.

Living at the inn was not only getting expensive with another mouth to feed, but it was also attracting a lot of curious glances.

A group of three very beautiful and flashy people, who had just become adventurers and were rising in rank quickly, attracted as much attention as expected.

“I think it might be time to plan a place of our own.”
