Chapter 4: Cautious and Careful

Louie continued to use the hand glider, heading straight towards the docks, he had oddly a smooth landing and soon he ditched the hand glider itself.

“Now to find where these Chaos Insurgents are” thought Louie.

Louie did his best trying to look at where the Chaos Insurgents could hide around the docks, he then noticed the strange Chaos Insurgency logo that was spray painted over one of the warehouses.

“Best guess” thought Louie to himself.

Louie slowly opened the door, lucky there wasn’t any alarm to be triggered. He cautiously began to move about in the shadows and then began to hear voices up ahead. The voices sounded more like they were in a planning phase of some sort.

“SCP-682, the Hard to Destroy Reptile” laughed Kabir, “he would be surely a powerful ally for Chaos!”

“Oh, I don’t disagree with that” said Wilma, “I know the ins and outs of that entire St. Canard Foundation.”

Kenny, the anthropomorphic crane was purposely being silent. He could sense someone was closing in on them.

“Kenny over here has been very silent since our meeting,” said Wilma.

“Yes Kenneth, please do tell us what are your thoughts?” asked Kabir.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

Kenny was meditating, he got some sense an intruder was nearby; but this wasn’t any ordinary intruder at all.

  “Someone’s snooping about,” said Kenny.

“Well Kenneth, get to it,” said Kabir.

Kenny sighed as he headed out, he knew the intruder was a young person but why would a young person be eager to join the Chaos Insurgency? More questions than answers as Kenny pressed forward. The anthropomorphic crane gazed around the hallway and noticed a young duck wearing a green hoodie lurking about.

“Sorry to do this to you kid,” said Kenny.

Kenny soon lunged at Louie; Louie had no time to react as Kenny’s martial art skills managed to subdue him.

“Hey, hey what gives?!” cried Louie.

Kenny soon dragged Louie to where Kabir and Wilma were located.

“Louie Duck; are you Scrooge McDuck’s nephew?” asked Kabir.

“Yea, I’m his nephew,” said Louie.

The trio gasped in shock, though Kenny was more skeptical to why Louie was snooping around in the first place.

“I must say we’re big fans of your work on how you took over your uncle’s empire with one swoop” laughed Wilma as she began to shake his hand.

Louie didn’t even know he had such a fan base, Kabir did his best trying to get Wilma to pay attention with the primary goal.

“Wilma, our benefactor wants us to help free SCP-682” said Kabir, “that’s our main focus.”

  “Right” said Wilma.

“Uh, speaking of him, I did see him at the Foundation site, and I do have a connection,” said Louie.

Kabir soon peeked; his interest into listening to what Louie had to say.

  “Go on,” said Kabir.

“Well, I have a telekinetic link, not that I have those sort of powers myself,” said Louie.

“That means that SCP-682 must admire your skills” said Kabir, “that you are just as cunning as he is.”

“All the more reason why you should help us in freeing him,” said Wilma.

Kenny did his best not to interfere with Kabir or Wilma’s suggestions in favoring Louie. He got some sort of sense a third party was sponsoring Louie but couldn’t figure out who it was at the moment. Kenny would just have to go along with his conspirators by including Louie for the time being.
