On the 13th floor of a skyscraper in New Nuevo City, someone was currently being chewed out.
"Listen, if you can't do a simple job like carry a few laminating sheets from the basement, how are we supposed to trust you with big jobs like Coffee runs? Frankly, it's just pathetic."
The man nagging and standing in front of the target of his comments was the hard working and well respected business man, Terry Pool. He wore a neatly ironed grey suit with a dark blue tie, along with some nicely polished black shoes that fit absolutely perfectly on his feet. His hair was slicked back with some sort of gel and his hairline seemed to be thinning a little, possibly from all the product put into his dirty blonde hair, or just from age. However, he didn't seem too old either. Just seven or five years away from a mid-life crisis.
In front of Terry was standing the target of his insults. A short boy with black hair which could also be considered a sort of extremely dark navy blue. His hair was messy and rather unkept, almost as though he rushed to brush it in the morning. His sleeves were rolled up for his white ironed shirt, his grey slacks weren't ironed at all, hanging loosely on his legs, and he had some old looking dirty black and white trainers on his feet. He looked to be in his teenage years, and was currently staring at the ground in annoyance, gritting his teeth.
"God I hate this Internship! I thought I'd be learning more about business! Not running Coffee and office equipment errands!"
Then again, this was usually the troupe used to describe what interns would do in TV shows as well. The boy himself had once wondered if this troupe was how interns were actually treated in the real world too. Turns out he was right...To some extent at least.
He still received some business practice, acceptance to certain meetings, a computer to do work on, and advice from those overseeing his stay. However the man in front of him, Terry, was probably the most useless of the lot for the boy's internship. Not only was he focused solely on how well someone could run errands for him, but also how well someone could make him a cup of coffee too.
"What an ass. If I could just-"
"Are you even listening Rael? Do I have to write this down in your performance log?"
Rael's head quickly shot up at the sound of something that could jeopardize his current situation. He straightened his back and stared at Terry seriously before apologising, and nodding his head in a sort of apologetic bow.
"No sir. I am extremely sorry for my incompetence sir."
Terry stared down at the boy for a moment before a nasty satisfied grin began to grow on his face.
"Good. I expect better. Now, it's almost four thirty. I'll let you go for the day. I truly do expect better tomorrow. It is your last day after all."
With that, Terry turned and walked back towards the office area instead of the long carpeted hallway which they were currently standing in.
Rael lifted his head before sighing with relief. He stood there for a few moments, contemplating his life choices for as to why he even decided to have an internship here, but came to his conclusion.
Incense was the biggest and best company when it came to clothing marketing in New Nuevo. Anyone would die for a job here, so having the fact of having done an internship here at Incense on his Curriculum Vitae would greatly benefit Rael. Especially considering his living situation.
When those thoughts began to cloud his mind, Rael turned towards one of the elevators, grabbing his bag from the floor where he left it and waited for it to come up. Once he was down in the lobby, he signed himself out, waved the old friendly receptionist goodbye, along with the guard at the front doors to the building, and took off, beginning to make his way home.

Downtown seemed to be less crowded today pedestrian wise, but the amount of cars zooming by never seemed to let down. Rael wondered how convenient it would be to have a car but also how inconvenient the gas prices would be, especially in this day and age. He smiled to himself as he continued to walk past the multitude of bright lights and stores that brightened the atmosphere of downtown, imagining himself in a nice car after securing himself a steady financial future for both himself and his family.
"Mhm...And I'll get myself a Jacuzzi too in my backgarden!"
He almost began to skip, but suddenly a loud buzzing began to assault the ears of Rael and all the people in the flashy city, sending a few people to the ground in shock. Cars swerved and narrowly avoided each other, coming to abrupt stops.
Rael looked around frantically after almost falling on his ass. Only then once he was looking at the people around him, he looked up as well towards whatever they all seemed to be encapsulated by.
There was a looming shadow cast over the downtown area he was in, the buzzing continuing but now rather low as what seemed to be a black dot in the sky was approaching the area Rael was in and at a fast rate.
Only when it began to grow larger and larger did Rael's heart begin to plummet further and further down into the pits of his stomach.
"A-A Monster from the Outerlands!?"
As this humongous flying beast approached further, Rael was finally able to make out some of it's details. It had a hairy body in a sort of violent yellow and black colour scheme, a sharp shining stinger at the end of it's body, glinting dominantly due to the setting sun. It's eyes were like a maze of multiple different shapes forming over one another, capturing the image of almost everything in the downtown, and maybe even further beyond that. Pincers hung out of what Rael assumed to be it's mouth, dripping a sort of greenish liquid into the streets below. It's multitude of legs hung lazily from it's body as the wings of this monster held it up in the air, the fluttering sound echoing rhythmically into the ears of everyone present.
Rael imagined he'd probably hear that fluttering and buzzing sound in his nightmares for years to come, his entire body shaking as he finally felt his muscles relax, making him fall to the ground in utter terror. He could hear some people running and escaping around him, but his leg's refused to move. Under the dominating presence of this creature, he felt less than an ant under the foot of a human.
"It's...It's over! Everything's happening too fast!"
Rael felt himself tear up as he heard the shriek of a few unfortunate people nearby who were swept up into the maw of this monstrosity. He somehow found himself praying for protection, praying for someone to help him, but also found himself cursing at his own weakness to stand and protect himself.
"Sorry...Mom...Rosa...I'm sorry for being so weak!"
He opened his teary eyes, but as soon as he did, there was a large heavy slamming sound and the sound of broken glass spilling onto the ground that sent shockwaves through the entire street.
The body of the flying humongous creature was now nothing but a corpse, blue blood beginning to rain from above as it lay in a heap on the ground below, having crushed a car under it's weight. There was a large circular hole where Rael imagined it's heart would have been. As he slowly adjusted to this sudden change in circumstance, he could hear the people around him beginning to sigh with relief as he once again followed their eyes.
In the sky above, holding the body of an unconscious civilian who was probably on the verge of being eaten in their arms, was a fully metal armoured and masked figure that had two red lenses acting as a position where someone could imagine where the figure's eyes would be. They had boosters on the soles of their feet and a jetpack too allowing them to float elegantly in the air.
Rael listened in on what the people around him were saying.
"It's the Iron Saviour!"
"How lucky are we!? A Warden was nearby after all!"
Rael could hear the people around him begin to cheer as the domineering person known as Iron Saviour floated down to the ground, gently handing the civilian to someone who seemed to know them before slowly walking to the corpse of the monstrosity that lay unmoving on top of a wrecked car. The figure grabbed the beast by one of it's huge pincers before activating the boosters on the soles of their armoured legs and the jetpack fitted onto their back.
As they began to take off with the corpse, someone yelled to them from below:
"IRON SAVIOUR! WAIT!"
The armoured figure turned to the crowd of citizens who began to suddenly clap and cheer, meeting their gazes of awe and reverence with an unresponsive stare.
To Rael though, he sort of imagined that the Iron Saviour was somewhat looking down on the people below with a despondent aura emanating off of their figure, their red eye lenses glowing a little until they raised a hand elegantly, waving to the grateful crowd below before fully taking off.
"So that's a Warden in action..."
