Himiko Toga dragged the box-cutter across the cardboard top of the box containing Katsuki Bakugo's belongings before he passed away, if your wondering why she had a box full of Katsuki's belongings it's because back in their teens they were dating for a whole year, after Toga saw Izuku plowing Ochako and Katsuki was still recovering from a nasty break up he had with Izuku (please for the love of Christ don't ask otherwise I will be here for fucking A G E S) the two met in the forest outside of U.A. High and started to hang out in secret, eventually after 5 weeks they hit it off, and after one whole year of dating Katsuki got Toga pregnant but it was kept under wraps because God knows there'd be some serious shit going down if anybody knew. but anyway we're off topic
With trembling hands, Toga sliced through the final piece of tape. Inside, she found a worn-out U.A. uniform, a faded photo, and a small, velvet box. Her heart pounded as she lifted the lid of the box. Inside, nestled on a bed of satin, was a silver locket. Tears welled up in her eyes as she recognized the image inside: a young, smiling Katsuki, his arm slung around her shoulder.
She traced the familiar curve of his lips, her finger lingering on the faded ink of his name engraved on the back. A sob escaped her lips as she clutched the locket to her chest.
"I miss you, Katsuki," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I miss you so much."
to her ignorance the door beside her popped open, opening fully to show a young boy whom seemed about 3. he smiled brightly as he saw her "mama!" the boy shouted cheerfully
The boy's sudden appearance startled Toga, but she quickly regained her composure, forcing a smile. She knelt down, her expression softening as she looked at the child. "Hey there, Kenryu" she murmured, her voice gentle.
"Mama, can we py?" the boy asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Toga's heart ached. She wanted nothing more than to spend time with her son, to give him the love and attention he deserved. But the weight of her grief was heavy, threatening to consume her.
"Of course, we can py," she managed to say, her voice barely a whisper. "What do you want to py?"
The boy's face lit up. "Let's py heroes!" he excimed, his eyes wide with anticipation.
Toga nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Heroes, it is," she agreed, trying her best to hide the pain in her heart.
"oh no! it's the great and powerful Kenryu! He's going to save the day!" she excimed, picking him up in her arms.
Kenryu giggled, his eyes sparkling with delight. "And who are you, Mama?" he questioned, pying along.
"Why, I'm your sidekick, of course!" she said, her voice filled with forced cheer. "The amazing Lady Toga!"
Together, they pyed, Toga throwing herself into the role with a passion that surprised even her. For a brief, shining moment, she was able to push aside her sorrow and be the mother she'd always dreamed of being to him.
But as the shadows grew longer and the room grew dark, the game came to an end. Toga set Kenryu down gently, her smile fading as she looked into his eyes. "Bedtime, little hero," she murmured, her voice heavy with love.
"night-night mama" Kenryu said sleepily as he gave her a tight hug and a peck on the cheek before scurrying off to bed.
Toga watched him go, her heart feeling heavier than ever. As she sat back down on the floor, the locket still clutched in her hand, she couldn't help but think about how much had changed since that fateful year.
But she knew she couldn't let the past consume her. For Kenryu's sake, she had to be strong. With a deep breath, she closed the box, pcing the locket back inside. Standing up, she brushed off her clothes and walked out of the room, her resolve to be the best mother she could be stronger than ever.
The hallway outside was dimly lit, the only sound the distant hum of the city beyond the walls. Toga leaned against the doorframe, feeling the weight of her decision to keep her love for Katsuki a secret from everyone, even her own son.
But as she looked into the room where Kenryu slept peacefully, she knew she had made the right choice. For now, she had to be content with the love she had for her son and the memories she kept hidden deep within her heart.
And as she closed the door to Kenryu's room, she whispered one final goodbye to the love she had lost, the love that had given her the most precious gift of all.
*knock knock knock knock*
Toga was ripped from her thoughts at the sound of the door knocking, a visitor? at this time?
Toga walked over to the door, grabbing the door knob and looking in the peeping hole to see who it is, she expected it to be Dabi or someone she personally knew. but instead she saw a soldier of some kind, he wore a navy blue uniform, fingerless leather gloves, a baseball cap with 'CGD' sewn into the top and a strange device on his wrist
"are you Himiko Toga?" the man said, tipping his hat at the sight of her
Toga nodded, her heart racing as she wondered what this could possibly be about "Yes, what do you need?"
The man cleared his throat, his expression serious. "Ma'am, I know this may sound unbelievable, but I know what actually happened to your.......are you and Katsuki married?" he asked awkwardly
Toga froze, her eyes widening. How did he know about Katsuki? "u-um, no. I was 17 when Kenryu was still a baby, we never got married, why do you ask?" she replied, trying to keep her voice steady
The soldier looked at her with a mix of sympathy and urgency. "I know what actually happened, I can't say much more than this, but somebody pnned your boyfriend's death"
Toga's heart dropped to her stomach, her knees threatening to buckle beneath her. "What do you mean?" she whispered, her voice barely above a murmur.
The soldier took off his cap and sighed, "i'm afraid I can't let on anymore than that, but what i CAN say s i'm here to help" he said
he then lifted his left hand and pointed his finger to it "this is called the V-Commander, it allows it's user to transform into what's called 'TimeFire'" he said and pushed a button. the V-Commander's straps retracted into itself, he pushed another button and, in a bright fsh of yellow light, turns into a box-like object with an insertion hole "give this to your kid on his 17th birthday, he'll need it"
"oh, thank you sir" Himiko said
the soldier chuckled "please ma'am, call me Naoto Takizawa"
